3. Injured Slave Needs Help

Tina pushed Lora's body until she bounced and then fell, her head striking a boulder and causing her to faint.

Harvey was resting after his physical exercise when he witnessed the slave torture scenario before his eyes once more. What kind of treatment could make a woman pass out helplessly like that this time?

"Tina! You must flee, or you will be punished!" Instead of being shy, Harvey threatened, and she felt justified.

"Will I be penalized for bullying a slave?" Tina snorted.

Harvey picked up Lora, ignoring Tina's anger. He had never done anything like this before. Lora's body was now placed on Harvey's back. She would be transported to the royal physician because the wound on her body required medical attention.

When the healer arrived at the physician's office, he looked at the girl lying in the examination room; Lora appeared weak and in need of a topical potion to help the wound heal rapidly.

"Is she a palace maid?" Harvey inquired.

"Slave, to be precise, but the people in the palace abused her excessively. She may have made a major mistake, but being handled so harshly is inhumane," Harvey stated. He paid attention to this one girl's physical appearance; her red hair and slender face should be quite attractive if only she had a little flesh, and he made her body look healthy and robust.

"What is her food?" inquired the healer.

"As far as I know, she has been eating leftovers from the royal cuisine, but the palace occupants consume so much food that they leave little for her," the healer said. "We need to establish a healthy food policy for all servants in the future. They are entitled to appropriate sustenance."

"This girl needs to eat properly to recover faster. I gave her topical treatment and potions to drink after meals because the medicine would not work properly otherwise."

In response to the healer's recommendation, Harvey ordered all of the palace culinary workers to provide healthy food for Lora. He did it while Lora was sleeping to boost her nutrition.

The werewolf communicated through mental power, and everything he desired appeared before his eyes instantly. Lora didn't take long to wake up. She was astonished because she was in an unfamiliar setting.

"Ah, Young Master werewolf," she softly replied. "I want to say thank you, but I am hesitant. I don't deserve assistance."

Why should you let them torment you? You have the right to a happy life regardless of your origins. Everything is not beyond your control just because you are the child of a werewolf," Harvey defended.

"I never asked to be born to a werewolf or a witch. If I may, I want to be reincarnated as a human or not be born at all so I can play in heaven with the Moon Goddess," she whined again, her body in excruciating pain. The scars on her body were just momentary, but the sorrow in her heart was so intense that she couldn't bear it any longer.

"Hold on, I'll talk to them quietly. I'll request that Harold and your pal Barry cease torturing you," Harvey proposed.

After some time, the food that Harvey had requested arrived - three portions of food and drink with no distinction between the food for the royal occupants and that for the slaves. Harvey helped Lora up and the food was ready to eat. Lora ate with her hands and appeared excited, as if she had never eaten before. She was greedy and ashamed, but became aware that Harvey had noticed her and began to act appropriately.

She chewed carefully, appreciating the meat, eating for the sake of enjoying a wonderful meal. Previously, she had only had dry, stale, and nasty leftovers. It's no surprise that she was malnourished; her physique was slender and she quickly became fatigued. She needed to eat properly, and hopefully, the regulations would change after this.

Harold arrived a few minutes later and instructed Harvey to carry out the following agenda. Parting with Lora left a lasting imprint, and Harvey couldn't help but stare at her gorgeous face a little longer, There shouldn't be anything wrong with Lora; she can work and be treated appropriately. As an Alpha candidate, Harvey could change the rules of the kingdom.

After returning from the healer and getting food from Harvey, Lora returned to her room. For the first time, there were no attacks from Tina or the others because Harvey had sent a message to let Lora live normally, at least until she made a fatal mistake. Lora entered her room silently and Barry greeted her, hugging her to make sure she was okay.

The next day, Lora woke up to find everything still silent. She cooked food as usual, but there were more ingredients to prepare, intended for servant consumption.

"Let me go first," Lora told Barry. They were both working in the kitchen; Barry was chopping vegetables while she was preparing to leave the palace for the river. Her clothes were dirty and piled up, as she had been tortured too much. It was a waste of time washing the palace occupants' clothes, while her clothes were buried like a mountain.

""What are you doing?" he inquired.

Chop! The sound of a knife clicking against a leek drew Barry's attention away from Lora and towards the stem.

"The river is clean enough to wash clothes," Lora replied.

"Okay, but be careful not to get carried away by the water," Barry said, shrugging his shoulders. He was aware that the weather in this universe differed from that in the human world, and the river now moved twice as rapidly.

Lora simply smiled and exited the palace. The situation was unchanged from yesterday. Her legs were no longer tackled, and her hair was no longer grasped by Tina.

She held a bucket of clothes, and when she arrived at the river, she encountered Harvey by chance. Her heart was racing, and she needed to thank him for saving her life.

"Thank you," Lora responded, gracefully bowing. Those words were insignificant compared to Harvey's treatment of her.

"You deserve to be treated nicely. You don't deserve to suffer because of your parents' behavior, and werewolves had to marry other werewolves in the past. But you don't know anything, and you didn't ask to be born from the womb of a witch," Harvey stated.

Lora felt a little relieved when she heard those words; at least someone thought that way other than Tina or the other residents. She emptied a pail of laundry downstream, ashamed to be washing her things in front of a man.

"What are you up to?" Lora inquired of Harvey.

"Creating the future."

Lora gave a slight smile. When Harvey was lost in thought, that phrase meant he was daydreaming. She had dozed off accidentally and caught a glimpse of Harvey's gorgeous features; his face could easily be the most handsome in the entire castle. His demeanor was angelic.

Meanwhile, Harvey was also lost in his thoughts. Lora's face was exquisite, with her green eyes and red hair reminding him of a mermaid he had encountered on the high seas. If Lora were free of scars, she would be the most beautiful woman in the kingdom.

Tina seemed to be spying on them from a distance, looking for an excuse to carry out another evil plan. Hatred had consumed her body and soul, and she was too clever not to notice Lora's attractiveness and how dangerous it could be for her.

"First, let's keep an eye on them..."
