Chapter Five

The day went by in a blur,the teachers were so nice, I got to meet the infamous friends of Ella, Emmanuel her twin brother, Tunji the clown, James the foodie and Aisha the ticking bomb. Turned out Aisha and Ella were friends. They were all amazing people and I was glad to have them as friends.

I was currently going round the school in search of Ruby so we could go home because I didn't know my way around this place. It's been about thirty minutes of me going round in circles and I was about giving up until I heard muffled voices coming from behind a closed door that had "fine art studio" inscribed above it. It was creepy.

"Stop,go slowly,you are going to hurt me." A feminine voice said.

"Oh, argh, I'm going as slow as I can." A male voice groaned back.

"Steady. Don't move too fast,I might get hurt." She said.

"Oh fuck!" I heard the male voice groan before I heard a loud thump that propelled me with enough speed to burst through the door only to find Tunji and a strange girl smiling back with a bit of awkwardness.

To add the icing on the cake, there were atop each other and my mind was about to go into overdrive before I saw them dusting themselves off and trying to get something else clean and that was when I realized they were holding a banner.

"We were a trying to put up the banner,so I had to carry her on my shoulders but we ended up falling down." Tunji explained dusting himself thoroughly.

A look of relief and surprise washed over my face making the girl burst into a fit of laughter making Tunji also smile at me in amusement.

"What exactly did you think was going on Attracta?" Tunji ask making an embarrassed smile crawl up my face.

"Attracta meet my friend Gina, Gina meet Attracta." Tunji made the introductions.

"Hi"

"Hey" we said in unison.

"So what's up with the banner?"

"Well,it's the twins' birthday next week and we all wanted to plan a special surprise for them, but butthead James had a stomach upset and had to go home and Aisha went to the mall to get some decorations ready so I guess it's just Gina and I."

"Oh I see."

"Things are still moving slowly but it's because we don't want them suspecting anything."

"That's okay, I can keep a secret." I said with a smile.

"Thanks." They chorused relieved.

"I have to get going now."

After about ten more minutes of searching for Ruby I decided to wait at the gate and as i raised my head to look at the little groups of people walking out of the school gate wondering why they were being so rowdy.

I sighted Ruby with a few friends as they exchanged their goodbyes. I heaved a sigh of relief but my relief didn't last long as I saw her approaching a car . Oh no she isn't leaving me here alone!

"You were going to ditch me?" I fired as I dragged her back from her bag pack.

"Don't touch me with your filthy hands you nitwit!" She retorted.

"How on earth did you expect me to find my way home?" I yelled.

"I don't care!" She said as she made a dusting action on the spot I touched on her bag pack. Such a pathetic drama queen. She took a u-turn from where I stood and got into the car with a guy after sharing a brief kiss with him. Must be her boyfriend because it certainly wasn't Mr Danger from the other day. I was so angry I didn't see Tj (Tunji) pop up behind me.

"What's the problem?" He asked and I shook my head to signify because I was sure my mouth would betray me. I could be very emotional.

"Okay then if you say so,see you tomorrow." He said with a smile as we bade each other goodbye. Time to find a way back home.

I walked to the junction and there way so many buses going to so many places till I heard a familiar one, that was the bus to the bus stop before the estate.

I boarded the bus,paid my fare and alighted at the stop after reminding the bus conductor a thousand times so as to remind him to tell me where to stop since I familiar with the bus stop.

I alighted and boarded a bike that'll drop me at the estate gate. I got into the customized tricycle that work within the confines of the estate.

"Oladimeji Street." I told him.

In about fifteen minutes,I alighted at the house gate, feeling proud of myself.

I managed to find my way back home ,all thanks to my amazing memory, I remembered the names of a few places. Getting back home was surprisingly easy. In your face Ruby. Call me immature, but I still felt victorious.

I did some house chores and helped Aunty with the cooking before I retired to my room to get updated on my notes. I got bored of writing eventually and decided it was time to sleep. I played a few games on my phone and fell asleep shortly after.

I was in my room barely awake when Ruby walked in with a package. She threw it and it was a centimeter away from hitting me in the forehead.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" I yelled.

"Well mom said I should hand this to you so the earlier you pick it up the better." She said.

I ignored her and picked up the box and opened it to find a brand new phone, an iPhone 8plus to be precise. Wow, I was beyond surprised honestly I wasn't really interested in getting a new phone but seeing as she got it for me as a gift was kind of special to me, it's been a while since someone got me a gift.

I dropped the phone along with the Sim card which was cut open earlier so I guess it could be registered. I left my room to thank Aunty.

"Aunty thank you very much ma, God bless you I really appreciate this, your pocket never run dry in Jesus name, anything you ask for from the Lord he'll continue to grant it in a hundred folds in Jesus name."

"Amen Attracta, you're welcome enjoy your new phone I got a registered Sim for you because you're busy with school and wouldn't have the chance to go register it yourself."

I thanked her once again and I was really excited. I put in the Sim card into the phone and turned it on everything about it was nothing short of amazing I was about to download a few apps on the phone before I heard someone call my name from the living room.

"Attracta you can lose your Nokia phone now that's reason why I called you. Nothing in this house is as loud as that your phone especially when you use to it to set an alarm." she said laughing. I laughed along with her too.

I guess she had no idea I had an iPhone 5 earlier, I guess I should proceed that way, I was happy about the secrecy. No one was certain about what would happen in the next few months so I held onto my old phone.

I switched my phones off after I transferred all the details to my new phone and so it's good to go to an extent. It has been a long day because the first days of school were always stressful.

I launched the WhatsApp app and immediately restored my backed up information to my new phone. It felt like my child at the moment.

I read the chats from the set group; it was a group for all the ss2 students of Belleview, and laughed to my hearts content before deciding it was time for bed. I was beyond happy.

Uncle Henry was back from his business trip and would be home for a while. Aunty would be elated, she really missed him. They acted like high school lovers.

Unknown's POV

"You had better hold onto what's yours because my plans are set already. I don't mind a repeat of what happened to 'you know who'." He started.

"My fresh gazelle is here and I won't hesitate to make the kill. Get your affairs in order and make your decision because I won't hesitate to hunt. Stop being a pussy and act like a man or isn't it a set of balls you have between those legs." He sniggered.

Pow! A punch landed on his face from the other person.

"You've said enough. Get out." The other person raged, earning a bout of laughter from the first person.

"She'll be mine. Mark my words coward." He said as he exited the room.
