After breakfast, we spent time laughing and talking. He was a normal dude, nothing like I imagined. We talked about light stuff, but I was still too afraid to ask the big question. I tossed and turned all night. It was the worse sleep I have ever had in my life. I saw her when I shut my eyes and when I opened them. I talked to my mom and God when I got home last night. But it still didn’t stop her from flooding my mind. I was still laying there, looking at the ceiling and thinking of her. Enough, get up man and get yourself together. I rolled out of bed and hit the shower. After getting cleaned up, I was ready for a run. Running always made me feel better. The cool air would do me some good. I jogged my way right to the job. She nodded and I pulled her down onto me. I grabbed her head and began to kiss her with intention, as we continued to move to the music. I wasn’t about to hold back. I felt refreshed after the shower. Water always replenished me which is why I loved the rain. I could be in my favorite tailored suit and stand in the rain. God washed away a lot in the rain, especially for me. I looked at my phone, still nothing. I had made up my mind that I wasn’t going to bother her anymore today. Damn it is cold out here! I thought it was supposed to be like 50 degrees today. Lord, I hate the cold. I said, bundling myself up tighter around my neck, which had apparently disappeared in between my shoulders and head. Pressing the button on the elevator I wait for it to come. There were a few people waiting with me, but no one I knew. There are different companies within the same building, so it wasn’t odd. I rode with new people all the time. The elevator came and we all got on. I pressed the button for the 36th floor, which is where our company was. I stepped off the elevator, and through the glass doors to my desk. Unloading my bag, coffee, jacket, and fritter, I sat down to enjoy breakfast before this busy day ahead of me. I knew my boss had a lot for me to do and I was prepared for it. I decided to take the subway today instead of riding my bike, so my helmet was one less thing I had this morning.
