The morning arrived with the heart-grating news that Clover had lost her baby. The man she loved was responsible for losing her child.

Staring at the ceiling of the hospital, Clover kept wondering where she had made a mistake, and at the same time, delicate streams of sorrow kept rolling from her eyes and falling down her cheeks.

Suddenly the door of her ward was pushed open, and the familiar scent wafted to her nose. But unlike before, she was neither excited by the smell nor did she have any desire to meet the man.

"Do you need anything?" Kayden asked with a tone that was neither warm nor cold. "Anyway, I am going out. If you need anything or get some stuff, you can tell me."

Getting no response from Clover, Kayden asked again, his eyes glued to her side profile. If before, he would have fought with everything that made her cry, but right now, other than sympathy, he felt nothing for her.

Clover slowly shifted her head at Kayden, unblinking. There was no flicker of emotion-no anger, no sadness, not even recognition. Just an eerie stillness, like her heart stepped out and left her body behind.

"I want a divorce," her lips parted slightly and she asked.

As soon as her voice came to a halt, a frown appeared on Kayden's face.

Her words brought a deep emotion to Kayden's face as he had never thought about divorce before, nor did he think that Clover could ask him for a divorce.

"Alright, you will get the divorce papers soon. But you cannot deny the fact that the end of our relationship has happened because of you," said Kayden with an angry tone. There was a lot written on his expression, which Clover was having no trouble at all in reading.

"Life has been choked out of our relationship right at that moment, you felt that everybody else was telling the truth except me!" Said Clover with a monotonous tone, taking her eyes back to the ceiling.

The emptiness in her expression was scary as if the spark had left her eyes and the darkness was slowly consuming her existence.

"I have proof, Clover. I have the DNA test. It was not mine. I would definitely forgive you, or maybe put another thought into this relationship if you accept the truth," said Kayden, holding his fists to the sides since the way Clover was giving him the cold shoulder made him feel angry.

She couldn't make him feel guilty because whatever happened was her fault.

"You can leave. I won't bother you again, nor will I try to prove my innocence because I am done. I have lost all my emotions. Thank you for everything," Clover said, breathing a sigh as she closed her eyes slowly.

Each action stabbed Kayden like thousands of needles penetrating his skin, slowly going deeper. Her silence wasn't passive- it was pointed and deliberate.

In a blaze of temper, Kayden let go of his fists and spat, "You will regret, Clover. There will be a day when you will feel the desperate need to return, but it will be too late to rectify the chaos you brought."

Then Kayden turned around and stormed out of the ward. His veins were popping on his forehead since he couldn't stop himself from gritting his teeth.

At the same time, he had this burning emotion in his heart which made him want nothing but to see her crawling to his feet and begging to get back to his life.

'Huh! That day, I will make her understand that she has no other place to stay except with me,' Kayden thought to herself and dialled a number to talk to his assistant.

"Yes, boss!"

"I am divorcing Clover. I want the process to be finished within a week," Kayden said as he darted toward his car and hopped into the driver's seat.

"Boss, you have to calm down. I think you should give yourself some time. Mrs. Hudson just lost the child; it would be inhumane if you do that," the assistant, Blake, said, who knew both his boss and Clover.

He witnessed the love between his Boss and Clover; even Hudson had to lower their head in front of it, who strongly opposed this relationship.

"You are my assistant, not my father. So don't tell me what I should do and what I shouldn't. Just do as I told you. I need my divorce papers in my hands as soon as possible!" Kayden growled on the call.

"Okay, boss! You will get the papers by tomorrow," Blake replied with a professional tone.

"Hmm... also announced my relationship with Cindy," said Kayden, shutting his eyes. His thumb went lower on the screen as he disconnected the call.

In his heart, he knew he was rushing things, but in his head, he had this vengeful thought, and he couldn't stop himself from thinking about it.

Meanwhile, in the ward, Clover felt unable to sleep because her hands involuntarily reached to her stomach over and over.

Heaving a deep breath, Clover got up from the bed and looked toward her bag, which was kept on a desk a little away from the bed. Since the Hudson family owned this hospital where she was admitted, her ward was the most convenient one, mostly reserved for Hudson family members.

She slowly lowered her feet, and the cold floor sent a chill down her spine. Quickly, she realised her depleting strength as she tried to walk.

She bit her lower lip as she stood for a while holding the edge of the bed. Then she made her way to her bag. Though she could ask for help any time by pressing the small bell next to the headboard, she had her own reason for not involving people.

She grabbed her bag and thrust her hand into the bag to bring out the phone. She dialled a number, "I want you to erase my existence. I want to start a new life."

"Don't you want to take revenge?" The voice asked.

"Yes, and I will, but before that, I want to stand where Kayden Hudson is standing now!" Clover said, her voice displayed a strong resolution.

"I'll wait to see how far you can go to take revenge...haha!" The voice ended with a laugh and the call disconnected.

★★★★★ "Miss Hastings, I hope you have not faced any hassle reaching here," Hardin said with a polite smile to Clover. "Being his assistant must be hard, no matter how well he paid!" Clover said, returning the smile. "Is that because I am in his house at this godly hour?" Hardin asked, not getting offended as the smile did not leave his lips. "No, seeing your boss's sincerity for the deal for which he chose to meet me instead of closing his eyes at this 'Godly' hour, I tried to feel your thoughts," Clover pressed on Godly. Standing behind her, Jemma looked down and smiled, but she did not let her voice crack. She believed the assistant was sensible and mature enough to understand what Clover actually meant. "Thank you for these kind words," Hardin replied, then moved to a side, showing off where Clover should head. If his boss were not impatient to meet Miss Hastings, he would probably enjoy another moment to talk to her. 'since a woman being this sarcastic is rare.' Hardin thoug

★★★★★ "They are going to come back for you with full force," Jemma said as she settled in the passenger seat. Then she looked behind at the back seat, adding, "Especially your stepmother. The humiliation she went through was like losing a prize in a competition, and she will not sit back and accept her defeat." "I did what the situation demanded, and I am not worrying about the consequences," Clover said, leaning on the seat and closing her eyes. "What about Hudson?" Jemma continued her chatter, since, other than guns, the thing she liked most was gossip. "Your sister's fiancé had not let go a moment of staring at you. If possible, he could gobble you up." "I did not know you had taken a liking to him," Clover said in response without opening her eyes. "Argh! No. He is not my type," Jemma spat, "Besides, he is into Hastings' daughters." A chuckle escaped from her lips. Clover could not help but open her eyes before rolling them. If Jemma were not an assassin, he would have made u

★★★★ "Clove," Cindy rushed to Clover and grabbed her hand, pleading, "You are getting angry without any strong reason and taking such a big step. Sending us to jail will not just end the matter, but the insult that will follow will befall us. Think a little about our image in society." "Without any reason? Ever since I stepped into this house, you guys have been looking for every small reason to trash my image. Not only that, you even called the guards to throw my friend out," Clover said, jerking her hand away from Cindy. "Clover, we will be finished if your father goes to jail," Zona spat, her eyes clouded with tears. The arrogance was no longer striking on her face; rather, she felt fear, fear of being looked down on in society. Not only that, she was concerned about the treatment her daughter would get in the Hudson family after this scandal. "You should have thought it before coming after me," Clover said coldly. There was no trace of the timid woman she once was-only st

★★★★★ "So what's the delay, the cops are standing outside. Jemma, call them inside because I don't want my family to take the hassle for me," Clover said with sharp eyes at Gordon. Then she glanced at Jemma, who, understanding the glance, turned on the phone and dialled someone. Instantly a bunch of cops entered the house with the reporters. Zona stared at Clover with confused eyes before her head shifted behind her when the commotion felt real. She found the cops were standing at the door. They were so quick as if they were truly standing outside all this while. "And what those reporters are doing with the cops!" She was quite baffled. She returned her eyes to Clover, asking, "Do you mind explaining what all these are now?" "Do I have to tell this? Wasn't Dad earlier told me that he could send me to prison because I upset people? So here they are!" Clover said to Zona, her lips curled upwards. "Sis, you are scaring me. This is my engagement party and I hardly imagined having co

★★★★Zona took a deep breath before adding, "Clover, what is it?""Can't you hear everyone whispering? Everyone here knows this is the Queen's diamond. It's worth a million," Clover replied with a haughty tone as she folded her hands over her chest."We also know what this thing is and what its value is. We want to know how you got this precious diamond?" Zona asked, raising her brows. The more people talked about it, the angrier she got, because Clover would never have the means to keep such a valuable item. She was certain this was a ploy by Clover to humiliate her at her party."What do you mean? How did I get this?" Clove raised her brows, "Why do you feel so surprised that I have such a thing?""Because... you.." Zona was about to snap when Cindy's gentle voice interrupted, "Sis, Mom is a little confused because you went somewhere without telling us. We tried, but we haven't found you, nor did you get any financial help. If this thing is so expensive, then you must have put in a

★★★★★ When the armed men arrived, Cindy's mother raised her chin, a little proud and mostly arrogant. This entire situation not only brought the flashlight on them, but tomorrow all the newspaper agencies would flood their newspaper with their names. Some were going to throw shit, and some would praise their new bond with Hudson. Whatever it was, they would still be in the newspaper for a few days, which meant a lot to Cindy's mother. "Get this woman out of this house and make sure she's never seen around again," Zona, Cindy's mother, said, narrowing her eyes at Clover, though her words were meant for Jemma, who stood in place, unperturbed. Not once did Jemma look at Clover for help or plead with Zona or Clover's father, Gordon. As soon as one of the guards stretched his hand to grab Jemma, it landed in the air because he did not realise how the woman had moved from her place so invisibly. It could be seen that Jemma had moved from her place, but no one realised when and how. "Yo
