I was stuck between calling her phone or just knocking on her door as I stood in front of her apartment block, clueless. Emerald was yet to text me even though we had set the time and date for our meeting together, which by the way I wasn’t sure where she wanted to go. Sitting at a restaurant had become a little out of fashion for me and I wanted try something new like go on a boat ski.
I laughed, shaking my head together with the thoughts that occupied it. A movie would be better for a calm evening. Brushing my hair back with my hands, I licked my lips before knocking on the door. Every time I saw her, my heart was happier and I could envision her opening the door with a giant smile on her face, looking radiant with her glowing skin, a beautiful face I could wake up seeing every day and not get tired of.
Emerald‘’Oh, stop please,’’ I said and giggled as he nibbled on my ear in the back seat of my car. Our official dinner date had somehow led to devouring looks and hungry bodies as we couldn’t keep it together. Moving away from his touch, he held my neck and planted a soft kiss on my lips.He pulled away, smiling at me. ‘’You are beautiful.’’There was how the words came out of his mouth that made it sound so genuine. My hands cupped his cheek and stared at his eyes in wonder. I loved him and with the way he looked at me, it kind of showed he knew that so well too. It was so hard sitting at the table for long and having to pretend what we were really interested in—dessert. Giving him a se
EmeraldMini had never sounded so serious her whole life and I on the other hand felt like a leech. So I made my mind up to take her advice and tell him about everything. And that started with me heading over to his house to pick him up. It didn't sound nice to the ears, but I guess it was just the feeling of guilt working with me.
EmeraldGetting to the door of my apartment, I whirled around and smiled at him. ‘’You really didn’t have to come all the way since I was basically the one at fault and wanted to make time for it.’’He scoffed humorously. ‘’I am not a petty guy, Emerald. Especially with things I love.’’I swallowed hard and turned to knock on the door.‘’I was thinking if you’d like to go out sometime this weekend?’’ he asked and I squinted at the door. “A bonfire?’’‘’Well that would be great. Been into that for a while now. Sunday’s a little busy for me, leave it at Saturday?’’
EmeraldAnd there was the smile I missed mixed with the soothing feeling of being at a happy place. He was my happy place and probably felt the same way, beaming at me as I rushed toward him. He threw his arms open to embrace me and carried me laughing like a high school kid.

DevinI really wanted to tell Damon where I actually was headed when he asked but he was probably going to diss me for taking too long for getting Emerald down. That was another difference between us, I suppose. Or I had maybe just become a better person or Emerald was just too good for me to give up on just like that.
EmeraldThe night didn’t deserve to end just like that—without cuddling him to sleep or saying I love you’s till daybreak. And every time he touched me, I was tempted to stay with him even more. I suppressed a laugh, thinking of how dramatic I had been on our date and shook my head at him. He looked at me, like I was the last girl standing making me want to run to his arms for some more but I had to go.
DevinParking in Damon’s spot at the club, I rested my back to think for a bit at how funny I looked in the situation with Emerald. And the fact that she had to lie to me she was indoors whereas she was out with her ex doing what not?
