Chapter 2

Arturo:

I wrapped my arm around Sienna’s waist, pulling her to my chest as the two of us danced. Knowing that we were the center of attention, the two of us tried to focus on what we ‘learned’ in the dance classes they had us taking a week before the wedding.

The two of us swayed to the music, while her arm was wrapped around my neck, and her other held my hand as if her life depended on it. Regardless of her grip, I couldn't miss her racing heart and shaking hand as she held mine as if frightened.

“Put a smile on at least, people are watching us.” I said, catching her attention as she looked down at my chest. I knew that she was careful not to step on my foot, but looking up at me, she raised an eyebrow.

“I do believe that they are all aware that the two of us are nowhere near being lovers, why have to fake it?” She asked as I twirled her before pulling her closer to my chest. I wrapped my arms around her, her back was to my chest, and resting my chin on her shoulder, I kissed her cheek, knowing that cameras were taking pictures of us.

“Because, we have elders watching us, and the last thing we need is for them to think that we are going against them.” I said, shaking my head at her. I knew that being the Alpha of Alphas, I didn’t really have anything to fear when it came to these ‘elders’, but I just wasn’t in the mood for the fuss they caused when they thought that they were being ‘disobeyed’.

The music stopped, and taking a step back, Sienna nodded in respect at me as I leaned in, taking her hand in mine, and kissing her knuckle. She smiled, and hearing the flashes of cameras, I knew that this was being documented. Mostly to have it written as ‘A moment of history’. The union between Lycans and wolves has been impossible over the centuries, and I knew that the elders were hoping that this would be the last of the conflict.

In reality, I knew that it might not be, but seeing as being an Alpha, I had no mate or heir, I figured that this would be a better way to start.

I wrapped my arm around my ‘wife’, and walking toward her parents, the two of us stood for a few seconds, waiting for her father to get up from the seat that he seemed to be glued on. The man didn’t even bother dancing with his daughter, and though he thought that I hadn’t noticed him rejecting her when she did try to offer, I did; but that was the last thing I could care about. I believe that in his mind, now he had the place to himself, but the man failed to realize that he was not an immortal, and without an heir ready to take his place as Alpha when he dies, his place would be shaky within his pack’s grounds.

“We are heading off, Alpha Dominique.” I said, looking at the Alpha, noticing that his daughter didn’t bother saying a word. She looked at me for a second before nodding. Both her parents stood up, and unwrapping my arm from around her, I watched as her mother pulled her in for a hug, their hug was more formal than an intimate mother and daughter telling one another their goodbyes, and if that surprised me, then I would say that I was more shocked by the way her father resented hugging her to begin with and simply extended his right hand to her. She took his hand in both of hers, kissing his knuckle, before straightening and stepping back. I didn’t say a word about it, and Sienna didn’t seem shocked, confused, or even annoyed about what just happened. She looked at me, her silver-blue eyes meeting my brown ones, holding pain and fear in them despite how composed she was, before she nodded at me, letting me know that she was ready.

I extended my hand to the Alpha, and shaking his hand, I squeezed it, giving him a silent warning as not to mess things up. He knew the consequences anyway, and I didn’t need to explain them to him for him. And pulling Sienna away from them, the two of us walked toward my family who were waiting for us to head to the airport. Sienna didn’t even bother looking back once, and looking at mom, she shook her head in question, being just as confused as I was, but I simply nodded in assurance.

“Do you want to change your clothes before we head out? The airport is an hour’s drive away and I don’t think that you want to be wearing a wedding dress throughout the way.” I asked, looking at her. Sienna looked down at the dress for a second before she nodded, her cheeks reddening as she blushed. I nodded at her to follow me to her dressing room, knowing that she must have at least an outfit or two there. She didn’t come naked, nor did she come with no bags with her; however, this was no why I was taking her to the dressing room to begin with.

The two of us entered the room, and frowning in confusion, Sienna shook her head in question at the fact that I entered the room and was closing the door behind me. I wrapped my arm around her waist and pushed her against it, pinning her, glaring at her. “Alpha…?”

“Who the fuck are you? And why are your ‘parents’ treating you like some kind of slave?” I asked, snarling at her.

“Arturo, what are you…?”

“You have three seconds to answer, otherwise, I will be sure that you regret it, wolf…”
