AXEL

"I can feel it.. Dylan, I can feel it! This tingling sensation on my groin, I know that I'm going to find now my mate!"

Dylan snorted and threw a towel on my face. I didn't catch it so it just landed on the ground. "Stop it, Axel. You're just horny. Just let it out will you? Your mind and words are turning dirty. And you're hallucinating too."

I glared at him. How can he say that to me? I'm the Alpha here. "But I can't be mistaken! Her presence became stronger. It was like she's pulling me to her arms. Maybe we can try to search for her again?"

Dylan sighed and picked the towel. His wavy hair were drenched with sweat. "You're imagining things, Axel. You're the youngest. You can't outrun your brothers. It's too early for you to find your mate," he said while wiping the sweat on my face.

"But you've already found yours! Why can't I? We're on the same age!" I retaliated.

"We're both wolves but you know that we are not the same. Your entire being is different as well as the chance of finding your mate."

I groaned and pushed him aside. I grabbed my shirt hanging on a branch and continued my walk back to my manor.

"Axel," Dylan called out but I ignored him.

I entered my massive home. It was dark and lonely.

Damn. I want my Luna.

It's been a month since our father declared his retirement and I know that all of my brothers were now out looking for their mates. But even before the declaration, I was already searching for my half. I'm longing for her touch, wondering how she smell and how she looks likes.

My wolf growled at me, telling me to follow my instincts and don't listen to my Beta.

"Shut up, Baron. You don't have to tell me."

Going out in the human world is dangerous for us Alexander's. When our father was punished and dethroned in Arcadia, he settled here in mortal world but due to his anger and resentment, he became ruthless and killed millions of innocent people. Blood shed and injustice prevailed. He's like a plague that swept lives every year.

His evilness spread throughout the land and as a retribution, the Hunters was formed. It's been 300 years but humans hold grudges like they're life depends on it. It was like a blazing fire that was hard to extinguish despite the long years that had passed. Their ancestors might be ashes by now but the hatred and their objective never diminish nor disappear.

The entirety of wolves were being hunted but I can say that the head of Alexander's were the most wanted. We are much superior to them in strength and all aspects but humans are smart and easy to adapt, they know how to attack us. They knew our weak spots. But of course, they're not dumb to infiltrate this massive land. It'll be a suicide. So they're just out there, waiting for a chance for us to come out.

"Where are you going, Axel?"

"Shit!" I jumped up in shock upon closing the door. "Don't scare me like that!"

I swear, he always pops up everywhere. Dylan was my best friend and sure do has a Beta duties but he's creeping me out sometimes. He's like a die hard stalker. He's staying in the pack house tonight which was just nearby my house. They're having a celebration. I just forgot what was that for. I can even hear from here their loud cheers and screaming.

Dylan gave me an irritating look. "It's full moon tonight."

"Oh, really?" I looked up in the night sky and found out it's true.

"Yeah. So just go back inside and don't try sneaking out."

My forehead creased. "I'm not asking for your permission," I said and walked passed him.

"But your scent will be more noticeable than usual! You can't just walk around with that strong smell! You'll be in danger—"

I turned to him and gave him a sharp look. "Danger? Who are you underestimating, Dylan? I can wipe out their race in one blow if I have to. I am an Alpha, a warrior. Remember that."

Baron growled at Dylan as I continued to walk. It didn't took time when I felt a smack on my head.

"Aw! What was that for?" I shot him a glare.

Dylan rolled his eyes. "Wait for me here. I'll just get my jacket."

"You're coming?"

"As if I can let you go by yourself."

I smirked. "Sweet."

We ended up in the old town of Salem. It's late and were just walking based on my intuition. I can feel that she's here. I stopped and sniffed the air when my nose caught a faint sweet scent. I sniffed again and my wolf became giddy.

"Axel, I think we need to—"

"Ssshh. I've got this, Dy. I've already traced her." I licked my lips in excitement as my blood started to heat up. My mate is nearby and I can feel that she's calling for me!

"A mountain village?"

I climbed up in a tree and Dylan followed. I kept my alertness as I calmly study the village below us. My heart was beating fast. She's here. No doubt about that.

Dylan on my side seems bothered while looking around. "Hey, Ax. Can you smell that?"

"Yeah," I nod, eyes still focused in one particular house. A smell of gruesome death. With this pungent smell, it will be a murder or worst, a massacre.

And then it happened, it felt like I was shot by a goddamn bazooka when a woman came out of that house. Baron's saliva started to drool with the first glimpse of our mate. My eyes were latched to her while clutching my chest with the overflowing joy that it's almost painful to breath.

"My baby..." I uttered in daze.

Meyan.. I heard her name.

"What the.. The heck happened to you?" Dylan follow my lost gaze and when he saw her, he literally fell on the ground. I heard his groans and loud thud but I couldn't care less.

I traveled by the trees, grinning from ear to ear as I kept my eyes on her. Baron was jumping and want to shift but I kept him on leash. I don't want to freak her out.

"Axel!"

She's so beautiful but she looks quite troubled. Her eyes were so expressive and they look scared. My heart aches. I couldn't help myself anymore and went down and whispered her name right on her ears.

"Meyan.."

She stiffened and when I got a good sight of her neck, I suddenly felt the urge to bite and mark her right here and now.

But before that happened, Dylan came in rescue and restrained my raging body.

"The fvck are you doing? Are you crazy?!" he half shouted.

I closed my eyes tightly and let out a series of curses. I glanced at my mate who seems to be going downtown. It's already late. I wonder what will she do there.

"Are you listening to me, Axel?" Dylan barked irritatingly. His eyes landed to my crotch and pushed me in disgust. "And you're goddamn hard! Gross!"

I pulled my hair in frustration and looked down on my pants. "I'm sorry, okay? It's just that I couldn't help myself. Damnit. I want to touch her so bad."

Dylan sighed and looked at the path my mate took. "But wow... You really found her. And she looks like angel," he said in bewilderment.

I gulped as I tried to control myself not to do reckless things again. Dylan snapped his neck to me and gave me a warning glare. "Let's stay in hide for now. Let's see what will happen in the next few hours."

Both me and Dylan were in so much awe and shock as the massacre takes place right in front of our very eyes. My mate was laughing and she's more than contented with it. I should be stopping her but I know better. I can't interfere someone's awakening. But then, a gunshot made her rampaging stop. My eyes were quick to find who shoots her. There was a man hiding on a tree.

Hunters..

"Hey! I can smell some Alexanders! Call for backup!"

I gritted my teeth and turned to Dylan whose eyes now were gold and burning.

"Time to move, Dy. Let's take the Luna to her new home."
