“ Where am I?” I asked myself with a groan, blinking my lashes rapidly. I wasn't in the hospital anymore. The sheet under me felt soft and silky and comfortable, making me not want to get up unless I took a deep breath. The moment the familiar scent hit my nostrils my whole body went stiff. A chilling sensation went down my spine. “ Maya,” I called my wolf, only to get a weak whimper from her. “ I can't be here,” I whispered to myself, removing the cover from my body. Unaware of the presence inside the room. “ Why can't you be here mate?” My blood ran cold when he spoke. And I was stopped in my tracks. “ Louise,” I breathed out in fear. The idea of me and him being alone in a room didn't sit well with me. “ Yes baby,” he answered, softly as if nothing had happened between us. I slowly turned around to face him. He was seated in the darkest corner of the room and when I looked at him he got up before making his way towards me like a predator. “ What am I doing here?” I asked, keeping my voice low and steady. “ Scared?” He asked, sarcastically. “ Where else would you be if not with your mate?” He asked, raising one of his brows. “ I don't want to be your mate.” “ And I don't want to be here either. I am leaving,” I said, turning my back, and walking towards the door. “ Where do you think you are going?” Grabbing my wrist in an iron -like hold he asked. “ In my room,” I said with anger rising in my chest. “ From now on this is your room,” he said. His tone was casual. F*ck I can't be here. I know what he is thinking even if we aren't bound with a mate bond I still know. And thank goddess he didn't mark me. “ I will mark you tonight and you will be my Luna since you are my fated mate and you will give me an heir,” he said, but I knew better than to believe in his words. “ No,” I said, and his hold on my hand turned bone crushing. “ No?” He asked mockingly. “ Isn't this what you wanted? To be my Luna?” He asked, his voice turning into low growls. “ Veronica will be my Luna and you will be my fated mate,” he harshly turned me around before saying that. My brain stopped working as I stared up at his face. I couldn't think, I don't know what to think anymore. This is the most absurd thing I have heard so far in my 19 years of life. “ How can you even think like that?” I managed to say earning a low chuckle from him. My heart froze and I knew Maya was speechless as well. Even though she wanted him as a mate, nothing could take the self respect away from both of us. I could feel her anger and it was nothing like I have ever felt before. “ You are weak and the goddess knows if you have a wolf or not because no one has ever seen you shift but Veronica…… she is powerful and she is fit to rule beside me not you,” “ You are good for breeding,” my stomach churned at his words. How did the moon goddess ever think to pair me with him? He paused and looked at my body with unmistakable hunger and lust in his eyes. “ I will never be yours,” I spat on his face, pulling him out of his dirty thoughts. “ I will……. His words were cut off when the door swung open. I took a shaky breath thanking the moon goddess. “ What…… “ What is she doing here?” Veronica asked, looking at us. “ What is it?” Louise asked, completely unbothered. She looked at the distance between us and then at me, glaring daggers. “ The Alpha king is on his way here,” she announced. “ Go and tell the others to prepare for his arrival. I will be there,” he said, turning his attention back at me. “ Get out,” he roared, as his head snapped at her direction and it took a second before she stormed out of his room, not before slamming the door loudly. At this point I don't know whom I should fear most. I know what he intends to do to me and then there is Veronica. She will probably kill me in a most cruel way possible. “ be ready for tonight. You will finally be my mate,” Louise said, bringing me out of my thoughts. No no no, I have to find a way to sever the bond before he could do anything. Oh goddess, today is the best chance for me to escape this hellhole please. Moon goddess please help me, I sent a silent prayer, hoping she would answer me this time. “ I won't be your mate, Louise or be your mistress,” I said, staring into his eyes. “ And if you still don't reject the mate bond I will go to the Alpha king and no one will be able to stop me,” I said, stepping into his space. “ I dare you,” he gritted out, anger rolling off of his body in waves. “ Believe me Louise, I definitely would and you know really well how far I can go,” I said lowering my voice. “ You want me, you will get me but first reject me,” I added. “ Oh, do you think I don't know what game you are playing,” he chuckled. “ Reject the bond.” “ Or…… “ I, Louise Austin, Alpha of the blue heaven pack reject lily to be my mate and Luna of the pack. My body went stiff for a moment, I couldn't believe he said those words. A chilling sensation spread through my heart. “ I, Lily Anderson, accept your rejection to be your mate and Luna of the blue heaven pack,” a painful groan left our mouths as I felt on the floor gasping for air and he took a few steps away from me. “ I will make sure you pay for this,” he said. Looking at him, I stood up and without giving him any response I turned around to leave the room but before I could take a step, I felt a sharp pain on the back of my neck before everything went black. “ Just a little bit,” I heard Maya's voice in the back of my head. I knew I wasn't completely passed out as I could still sense what was happening around me. I panicked when I felt him carrying me somewhere. “ If not as my mate I will still claim your body,” I heard him saying as he placed me on the bed. Then after a few long moments I heard his footsteps going away before I heard the closing sound of the door. It took me a moment to open my eyes and I sat up with a jerk. I looked around the room and heightened my hearing senses to hear if someone is outside of the door or the window. When I was sure there was no one, I quickly went out of the bed only to stumble back down as I felt dizzy. “ F*ck,” I cursed, shaking my head. I stood up again, because I couldn't afford to take a rest to recover my body. With trembling feet I made my way towards the window and slid the door open. I sighed, feeling the cold breeze caressing my skin. Walking to the railing I climbed up before jumping down. “ Urrghh,” I groaned in pain, clutching my leg. I got up, wiping the tears as I sobbed and then I ran limping towards the treeline that joins the forest. “ Don't let them find me, yet,” I sobbed as I limped towards the forest. “ Lily,” I body froze when I heard my name being called. Tears welled up in my eyes as I saw I was a few meters away from the forest.LilyThe next morning arrived with an uneasy stillness that I couldn't explain. I had barely slept after the memory of my father returned, and every time I closed my eyes, I could see him kneeling in front of me and fastening the silver charm around my neck. His frightened expression had stayed with me throughout the night, especially the way he had told me that someone would eventually come looking for me.I sat at the edge of the bed and stared at the charm resting against my palm. I wanted to understand what it was, why my father had protected it so carefully, and why Maya seemed to know more than she was willing to tell me. The unanswered questions were beginning to feel like a weight inside my chest, but I also knew that forcing myself to remember everything at once could do more harm than good.A soft knock came from the door, and before I could answer, Athea entered carrying a tray of food. She gave me a long look before placing it on the table.“You look terrible,” she said, p
LilyThe journey back to Black Smoke felt different from the one that had brought us to the old Anderson property. I had spent most of the ride with my father's letter resting safely inside my bag, my fingers occasionally touching the fabric as if I needed to make sure it was still there. I had spent years believing that my parents had died without leaving anything behind for me, yet now I had their house, my father's handwriting, a photograph, and more questions than I could count. Every answer seemed to open another door, and behind every door waited something that made me question the life I thought I had lived.Caspian sat beside me, unusually quiet as he stared through the windshield. I could tell from the way his jaw tightened every few minutes that he was thinking about the man we had found near the house. He had died before telling us who had sent him, but his final words continued to echo in my mind. The girl was never supposed to survive. I didn't understand why anyone would
CaspianThe northern forest has always been one of the quietest parts of my territory. Even the animals seemed to avoid certain sections of it, and the deeper we travelled, the more uncomfortable the atmosphere became. I sat in the back of the SUV with Lily beside me, while Damien drove and Liam followed in another vehicle with six warriors.I had barely spoken since we left the mansion. Not because I didn't have anything to say, but because my mind was working through every possibility. The old Anderson property had been abandoned for years, yet someone had recently left a photograph of Lily near my eastern border. That meant the person responsible either knew about the house or wanted us to believe they did.Neither possibility made me comfortable. Lily sat beside the window, her fingers moving repeatedly over the silver charm around her neck. She had been quiet too, but every few minutes I noticed her staring into the forest as though she was trying to recognize something hidden be
LilyThe room became completely silent after David's words. I stared at him, trying to understand what he had just said, but my mind refused to accept it. My father had been investigating me? How could that even be possible when I was only a child? What could there possibly be about me that would make him spend his last days searching for answers?“What do you mean he was investigating me?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.David looked at me with something that resembled guilt, but he still didn't answer immediately. Caspian stepped closer to me, his hand finding mine as if he could sense that my legs were about to give up.“Answer her,” Caspian said, his voice low and threatening. David swallowed before looking between us.“Your father discovered something about you when you were very young,” David finally said.“He noticed that your body reacted differently to certain things. You healed faster than other children, and sometimes your wolf would react to things before anyone
LilyI woke up to the warmth of something wrapped around my waist, and for a few seconds I remained still with my eyes closed, enjoying the unfamiliar comfort. The scent surrounding me was something I had started associating with safety, and the steady warmth against my back made me reluctant to move. Then I remembered where I was. My eyes opened slowly, and I looked down to see a strong arm wrapped around my waist.Caspian. My heart immediately started beating faster.I carefully turned my head and found him sleeping behind me. His face looked completely different when he was asleep. The usual coldness was gone, and the tension that always seemed to sit around his eyes had disappeared. His dark hair was slightly messy, and his breathing was slow and peaceful. I smiled without realizing it.I didn't know how I had ended up this close to him during the night, because I remembered there being a respectable distance between us when we had fallen asleep. Apparently, one of us had moved.A
LilyThe ride back from the council estate was silent, but it wasn't an uncomfortable silence. I sat beside Caspian in the back seat, staring through the window as the lights of the city slowly disappeared behind us. My mind was still trying to process everything that had happened tonight. I had walked into the ball not knowing who I was, and I had walked out remembering almost everything I had spent days trying to recover.I remembered Blue Heaven. I remembered David and Sara taking me in after my parents died.I remembered growing up in a place that never truly felt like home. I remembered Veronica's cruelty.I remembered Ben and his family being some of the only people who treated me like I mattered. And I remembered Louise. The memories were painful, but they no longer felt like pieces of someone else's life. They were mine.I lowered my gaze towards my hands and noticed that they were trembling slightly. Caspian noticed immediately.“You're shaking,” he said, reaching for my hand
LilyI opened my eyes hearing the soft beeping sound of a machine and tilted my head towards the sound only to see a monitor. But I was too tired to keep them open, so I closed my eyes with a soft sigh.“ She is awake,” a soft feminine voice said which made me open my eyes again.I looked towards t
Caspian “ I don't care,” I growled, opening my eyes as I looked at all of the members sitting around the table.“ You have to. You are the Alpha king and you are almost 30 yet you haven't found your mate yet,” Edward said, looking towards me expecting an answer from me.“ What do you suggest we sh
Lily‘Oh goddess no please’I had lost count of how many times I had pleaded with the moon goddess in my mind to not let them strike me more.“ Argh,” I screamed yet again when Veronica's feet made contact with my stomach.“ You pathetic piece of sh*t,” she snarled at me as she continuously hit me
