Darkness seem better

EPISODE 3: Darkness seems better

 FLASHBACK.

The night was gloomy, and it was peculiarly cold. Little Ariel had a blanket over her body as she watched the streets while her mother carried her on her thighs.

It was late, and she was waiting for her father. However, the family was complete and, unlike the other times, her father was late and had indeed missed dinner.

Every single man, woman and kid was presence, it was regularly a ritual to have dinner together at least and he had missed it. It made her worry and sad that she wished to wait out for him with her mom.

That was when they heard the chaos, the fire that quickly rose from a distant. Her mother hurled up from her sit and carried Ariel in her arms in alarm too.

Everyone flew into the house for fear of what was happening. Werewolves were attacking and killing people, and they had to hide.

"Everyone!! Get inside!"

But her father wasn’t back yet and while her mother gave orders, she had mistakenly kept her little daughter down and she ran out of the house in search of her father.

She hadn’t gone so far when she saw that familiar wolf that always played with her. She knew it was her father and had carried her small legs to him.

“Ariel….” Her mother had run out in fear, knowing her daughter was in danger when she saw that wolf too, her husband.

“Garry,” she paused in her tracks, quiet, mortified, shocked and surprised. He whimpered and lowered his wolf eyes and, within a split second, ran.

"Garry!!" Her mother called again in agony, falling to her knees.

Little Ariel stood there, doing nothing. Just staring at her mother on the floor

END OF FLASHBACK.

******

Ariel whimpered, feeling her bones ache with every movement she made. The dream had always hunted her, it was the very beginning of the end of her happy life and if only she had been a lot older, a lot smarter, to know that when her father ran out like that, he was going to change the course of her life, then she would have stopped him, if it meant that she would die that night. It was far better to die than suffer what she was suffering now.

Cold crept into her skin and the hard ground grew colder and ached her body, yet no comfort was provided.

Unconsciously, she folded her legs into her body and whimpered repeatedly as the nightmare replayed in her head.

Tears came out of her closed eyes and she wished for the death that could have taken her that night to come to her. She wanted to die than live this pain. Her mother had died immediately after her father was killed.

The pain was so unbearable for her to bear that she left, leaving her to carry the brunt of his atrocity. She should have died with them. She should have died with them.

The conscious pain of her body made Ariel conscious of her world. Gently, slowly, she opened her eyes and took note that she was lying on the bare floor and people were moving to and fro.

They would look at her and spit or simply ignore her. It was the least they had done anyway but she slowly slipped back to unconsciousness, the dark hunted place that seemed to be better than her present.

“Maybe, just maybe, a forever darkness was far better than this.” Ariel wished, fading into an unconscious darkness.

Ariel jerked up when something splashed fiercely against her body. It was familiar scene, almost like déjà vu, she knew immediately that she had been poured water.

She sat up as quickly as she could. Her body had been made to adjust to such a situation, but even as she moved, her body protested and her teeth jerked and clashed against each other harshly. She wrapped her hands around her very small and petite body and met the blazing eyes of the head slave.

“You’ve been sleeping for so long already,” she spat harshly.

"Um, I'm not feeling pretty okay. Please I need a little rest." Ariel whispered softly with all the strength she could muster.

“Now get up, you are all healed up and you have no excuse to not work. The alpha is returning to host yet another dinner party and I need all hands-on deck,” she continued and dropped the bucket she held.

It clanged harshly against the ground. The sound made Ariel jerked once more and Courtney snickered at her clumsiness.

She turned around and walked away without paying a single attention to the woman who had been unconsciousness and hungry for days.

Ariel shivered, feeling her chest, bones and body ached tremendously. The darkness was truly better than her reality and going back to it was becoming very appealing to her. Yet her inside bubbled with hatred for the both men that ruined her life. Her father and the alpha.

“Don’t make me return here, you little cunt,” Courtney yelled when she noticed that Ariel had not gotten up from where she sat.

Staring at the retreating figure of her tormentor her head boiled in anger.

"When would I be able to resist all this?"
