16. Daryl's journal
As we step inside the cabin, I look around at the beautiful layout, it was definitely cosy with the blankets hanging on the sofas and small fireplace in the corner and the low ceiling beams.
“Whose house is this?” I was curious, it wasn’t a place Daryl had taken me to before yet I definitely liked it. It was small and cosy, yet at the same time it seemed spacious. Framed photo's hung on the walls, many of people I did not even recognise but the ones of Jordan as a child were obvious. She looked the exact same.
“This is my house”. Jordan tells me to make myself comfortable because we will probably be here for a few hours and she reluctantly agrees to show me some defence stances. Helping her to move the furniture and clear the space she shows me a few different moves and helps me with the correct formation.

Daryl had been certain about getting my wolf back and the last few days he had hardly been in the packhouse, whenever I saw him he hardly spoke or he would tell me off for being out of bed. “That will teach you for going out in the snow with no coat or foot wear”I rolled my eyes at Daryl’s comment and continue to shiver. He had piled loads of blankets on me but I was still ice cold and when I started sneezing he looks panicked. Loud banging woke me from my deep slumber and as I rubbed my eyes I realised that it was already morning, quite late actually because it was winter which meant the sun was fully up about 10ish and currently the bright winter sun was beaming in through my window.Images of the night before come back and I feel my cheeks heat. “Are you waking up today?” Daryl’s voice was loud and clear but I pull the covers up over my head, hiding myself from him whilst keeping my eyes tightly closed. I was not ready to get up, all those pack members had seen me making an idiot of myself in the snow.The covers get pulled off of me, a cold breeze hitting every inch of my skin and I become very aware that I am naked. I heard sniggers from behind and turned to see a bunch of school girls standing and watching us. Although Daryl doesn’t release his arms from me, he still refuses to let me have him. Paige tries to reassure me but it doesn't work, right now, I didn’t know what was worse, staying a slave for Black night or being permanently without a wolf. Daryl tried to comfort me but when I pushed him away for the final time, he gets up and leaves, leaving me with someone I barely knew. Paige tells me that I was grieving for what I could have had, she also tells me she has been working on undoing the curse for nearly a decade and she feels she is getting closer. Her words do not make me feel any better and I stand to leave “Please don’t go. There will be no one to guard you” Her words fall flat as I open the door and step out into the darkness. Daryl or Cole were nowhere to be seen along with the car. Glancing back at Paige, I shrug and start walking into the night.
