Fated Paths

Livia’s POV

“What is….” I hadn't finished my statement when the animal before me transformed and shaped into a human.

My eyes followed the legs until they dropped at a familiar face and my jaw dropped almost at the same time.

“Lyon?” Was this a dream or something?

When did everything take place and why did the animal turn to Lyon?

He approached me but I was too scared to stay at that place, I continued walking backward until my back was pinned on the wall.

“Livia…” he called my name.

“Please, stop. Don't come any closer.” I shunned him curtly, trying not to conclude what was running wild in my head.

“It's not what you…” he was still attempting to explain the situation to me but I was so confused, scared, and infuriated.

I didn't want to hear any word that came out of his mouth, he was a beast! A scary animal.

“I… I will just leave.” I gathered my clothes and clustered them on my chest, advancing to the exit when he grabbed my arm and the clothes fell to the ground. Thankfully, the towel was tightly tied around my chest else I would have accidentally stripped.

“Don't go.” He said calmly.

“Let go of me. What do you want?” I questioned horrifically.

“Let me explain everything to you, Livia. I don't want us to be on a different page.” He informed me seriously and I kept shaking my head.

“There is nothing to explain, Lyon. My eyes had already seen everything and believe me, I can't stay in this room even for a second with you.” I rambled with words impatiently, staring into his weak eyes.

“I know you are scared right now and can't believe what's happening but the truth is that I'm a wolf.” He spilled bluntly and I just stared at him in recluse.

“I'm an Alpha wolf who came to the human city in search of my mate, a wife as humans call it.” He added.

“I wouldn't have believed in this crazy fantasy if I hadn't seen it with my bare eyes.” I hissed.

“I… I wouldn't have lost control and had planned to explain everything to you in the future. But I couldn't help but mesmerize over you when you were having your shower… and that was why I accidentally transformed.” He nervously explained to me and I rolled my eyes away from him.

“As much as you have explained yourself and everything to me, I doubt it's something I can take or cope with. I'm sorry.” I said seriously.

“Livia.” He tried to stop me but this time, I took my hand farther than he could reach.

“Let's just stop here.” Without looking at him, I dashed out of the hotel room - feeling messed up.

I couldn't believe I fûcked a wolf and not only that, I used him to deceive my family as my husband.

This is crazy!

I engaged myself in serious house hunting because I couldn't continue to stay in hotels and remain disorganized, especially since it would be working time soon.

After contacting a few apartment agents, I found a suitable one-bedroom apartment for myself.

It was classic and already had furniture in it, and using the last penny I had in my bank account, I secured the apartment and was ready to work the hell out of myself until I paid up my loans and became financially stable again.

The following week, I reported to work, dressed in my black complete suit outfit. The sound of my heels made platters on the ground as I walked into the working space. I continued walking elegantly with different eyes expression on me.

This was my new branch, I didn't know anyone here yet and I had to report to either the manager or director before I started off with my activities.

“Greetings, ma'am.” I exchanged warm pleasantries by handshakes with the lady who seemed to be approaching me.

“You must be Miss. Livia. Your old branch manager told me about you. I'm Evelyn.” She introduced herself, keeping a stern smile and I nodded.

“Nice to meet you. I have come to report for work.” I said.

“Alright, your desk is over there and everyone in this department is your colleague.” Our eyes wandered in the bustling-looking space, everyone was on, doing one thing or the other with the copy machine, their computers, and whatnot.

Someone was about to walk past her when she suddenly stopped him and my eyes followed her.

“Mr. Davon.” She called out to him and I remained stunned.

My ex-fiance?

He turned and was also surprised to see me, I tried not to show my interest in him while he tucked his hand in his trouser pocket- fixing his eyes on me.

“Mr. Davon has also been reassigned to this branch,” She continued speaking as she faced me while I kept nodding like a fool.

Why did he change his branch? Did he purposely do this or what? I didn't remember discussing with him about working in the same space.

“Nice to meet you, Mr. Davon.” I forced out a smile even when I wasn't pleased to meet him.

“Same here, Livia.” Evelyn looked surprised as her eyes danced around us.

“Do you both know each other before now?” She asked, giving us a suspicious grin.

“No.” And we spilled almost at the same time while letting out sharp shrugs.

“Alright, I will leave you to settle down and get to know the others.” With a soft tap on my shoulder, she walked into the hallway and into her office while I sighed, heading to my desk.

I completely ignored Davon because I didn't want anything to ruin the peace I was getting already.

I spent the entire time learning the working pattern of this branch and understanding my schedule. I got to know a few colleagues sitting around my desk, and they weren't as hostile as their first look was.

It was almost closing time and everyone seemed to be rounding up. I took up the file from my desk and faced my colleague, Ameerah.

“This is the file, right?” I asked calmly and she nodded sharply.

I attempted to leave when I stopped again. “Is our CEO in the office now or should I just leave it to his secretary?” I asked her, just to be on the safer side.

“He should be in his office today,” Ameerah said with certainty, and without another word, I left our working space.

I arrived at the isolated presidential hallway. The place was quiet and serene, not even the secretary was in sight. With a deep sigh, facing the door of the Chief Executive Officer, I exhaled heavily.

“Excuse me, sir, I'm here to submit some documents,” I said through the door, feeling nervous and scared.

I had been working with this firm but I had never seen or known who the CEO was.

This was my first time meeting him, I had to make a first good impression.

“Come in.” A hoarse voice escaped from inside as I opened the door.

My eyes were pinned on the ground as I walked into the chilled spacious expensive-looking office.

“Sir, I…” My hands were in the air, handing him the documents but I trailed off when our gaze met and he turned out to be someone I knew.

“Lyon?” This was indeed crazy.

How come Lyon was my CEO?

Livia’s Pov Assurance From My Alpha“Yes Alpha,” an average innocent-looking lady with blonde hair ran inside the room with her head bowed. I felt nauseous as I kneeled in the bathroom door, feeling something uncomfortable in my chest, suddenly my body lurched forward to the closet, and I violently threw up, my body expelling the remnants of last night’s poor decision. The fetching subsided, leaving me gasping for air, my head throbbing in agony, I slumped against the cold tile floor feeling utterly miserable. “Are you okay ma’am?” the maid patted my back gently. “Do I look okay?” I asked sarcastically, I slowly got up, rinsing my mouth and splashing water on my face. I faced Lyon, who stood there with a frown and prolonged irritation. The mirror reflected a disheveled, pale version of myself. I looked like I’d been put through a wringer. I hated myself at the moment and felt embarrassed. The maid put her hand around my waist to help me walk back to the bed. “What is your nam

I guess I was right, Alpha, that little human leaves the Villa as she wants, she did the last time, I went lenient on her, and now she's doing the same thing? She must face her punishments in the Ariul wolf court when she gets back,” Mrs. Gwen hollered as if she waited all her life to embarrass Livia in front of the pack because the more her voice got loud, the greater the number of people in the pack gathered. “Mrs Gwen, can you please stop being dramatic, nothing gives you the right to humiliate your future Luna in such a manner,” I bluntly exclaimed.“I think everyone here knows that she will woefully fail the consultation test, she would never s

Lyon’s PovA Sweet Wreck“What do you mean?” I frowned at her and my eyes drifted to the clock on the wall. It was 11pm already, I was meant to be asleep because of the stressful and numerous business adventures I was going to embark on tomorrow. “You know what I mean, my love,” she muttered. “My love?” I gawked at her and held her firmly as she slipped from my hands. “Listen to me. I will carry you into the room. Do not make a sound as we go outside, or you will cause a scene, and everyone will come out. " She went silent and ignored me, burying her head in my ankle. “Do you understand what I said, Livia,” I raised my voice. “Do you usually raise your voice at women?” she cried out at full blast, tears rolling from her eyes to my arm. “Are you kidding me?Please tell me you are crying for a different reason. You are crying this much because I spoke to you loudly?” I asked in a frustrated tone, I had never experienced this side of a woman before, I always told my driver to take

Lyon’s PovPlans“Will you permit me to answer your question, my Alpha?” one of the men raised his hand and slightly bowed his head down. “Go on,” I commanded. “Rumors are flying in the pack that Sir Jeremy is against you to be the Alpha,” he uttered.“Well, rumors are rumors, until there are concrete facts that it is true, Lame rumors don't interest me,” I gawked at all of them, Ensuring everyone understood what I said. “But Alpha, it is evident that he has been gathering people at midnight for a meeting, He also challenged you publicly to play Plonker, that is a sign, my Alpha,” A beta with long dreads, Adam spoke up this time. Meeting at midnight? What was my brother up to? “Are you sure about this?Where does this take place” I asked.“Yes my Alpha, I would never lie to you, The meeting is always held in the Octave Venue, near the graveyard of the ancestors of the founders of this pack,” Adam proclaimed assuringly. “What!!!!”My face twisted into a scowl, my jaw clenched

Livia’s PovConfused PhaseI had not seen Lyon since I got back from my parent's house. He didn't eat dinner with us, and he wasn't in the room. I shut the door of the room and sighted a maid passing with a tray of champagne. I stopped her.“Have you seen Alpha Lyon today?”“Yes ma’am, he's in the upper Library,” she pointed to the third floor. “Okay, is he the owner of the wine?” I requested, glaring at the tray again. It had been a long time since I had drunk. That was the first day I entered Lakewood and saw Davon cheating. I drank with the husband I'm married to now. And what I craved right now seeing the Krug Grande Cuvee bottle of champagne and a full box of ice wanted me to drink away my atrocities “Yes, ma’am, he requested it,” she nodded her head. “Bring it, I will give it to him,” I extended my hands to collect it. “Don't worry ma’am, it's disrespectful to hand you my errand,” she softly stuttered. At least some of the maids respected me, so I smiled at her.“Don't wo

Livia’s PovPossibility of BondingI arrived home the next morning after my mother-in-law scolded me for leaving the house without writing a letter of exit permit. Was she for real? Was the pack a kind of office that I was taking a leave?I told her I had informed her son that I was leaving the mansion, but she was not buying any of that. After I put on the apron hanging in the pantry door, Mrs. Gwen called me to the kitchen to cook with her. As I stepped into the kitchen, my hands trembled slightly as I clutched the recipe book to my chest. Why on earth did she want me to cook with her?She hated my sight, so why did she want my company out of the blue?I wasn’t ready for the awkwardness and her cruelty. My eyes darted nervously around the room, finally settling on the imposing figure of my mother-in-law, who stood tall, her arms crossed and a stern expression etched on her face.“Why did you bring a recipe book?Do you have poor cooking skills?” She requested bluntly, slightly ty

The SteelsLivia’s povI stood firmly on a stool, my eyes scanning the room as I envisioned the perfect welcome-home setup for my father. Today's the day he's finally being discharged from the hospital, and I want everything to be just right.“Guys, I need you here,” I reached out to Hessa and Tessa, who were lounging on the couch, watching me with amusement.“At your service,” Hessa giggled and ran in my direction, dragging Tessa who wasn't really in the mood for errands. She hurriedly went back to the couch. “I need you girls to pass me that decoration box on the table, but you have to bring it alphabetically and carry it with care so it doesn't rumble, can I trust you with that?” I asked, pointing to the colorful container filled with balloons, streamers, and other festive goodies.“Nooo, I want to watch TV Livia,” Tessa mumbled with a frown. “Oh come on Tess, you always say you love Grandpa, now is the time to show your love for him, all these to make him happy right?” I winke

Lyon’s PovBrothersI sat on Mrs Gwen’s king-size chair. Jeremy Kiln was opposite me. She stood in front of us angrily, as if she were going to scold us.“Mother, I would rather you tell me why you called me here, I don't appreciate spending my day sitting with the other guy,” Jeremy frowned at me, I sternly looked at my mother, without giving him the reaction he wanted. “The other guy?Why are you referring to your Alpha in such a manner?” my mother growled.“He's not the Alpha yet, let me have my fun as his big brother,”“That is even if you want me to become,”“Don't say such a thing, everyone knows you will officially become the Alpha in a few weeks at the arrival of the moon goddess, your brother is only angry just like everyone because of your wife, ”“I see,” I scoffed, wondering if my mother was intentionally acting clueless because the thought of my brother's treason would ruin a lot of lives including hers.“Jeremy, my son, I know how you feel about your brother’s decision.

Problems to problems“Blood?” I raised my hand to my nose and felt a watery substance dripping down to my mouth, immediately the room became "As I stood there, I suddenly felt a wave of dizziness wash over me. The room began to spin, and my vision blurred. Lyon and Mrs Gwen’s faces around me became distorted. The air seemed to thicken, making it hard to breathe. I gasped loudly as though there was no air at all in the room.“Livia, are you okay?” I faintly heard Lyon’s voice, my ears rang with a faint humming noise, and my legs felt like jelly, trembling beneath me as if they might collapse at any moment. He held my shoulder, firmly holding me from falling because I was losing balance. “What is wrong with you child?Someone get the doctor for me!!,”Those were the last words I heard until everything went dark. *********It felt like I'd been sleeping for hours, I slowly opened my eyes, I twitched my eyes at the severe murkiness of the room, I looked right an
