Chp 19: Shaky alliance

Sabrina got out of bed long before dawn that day. She'd had the worst twenty-four hours ever and could not sleep. Her brother, the Alpha of the Ruby Bloodmoon, was still upset with her. Though that was the least of her worries.

She had warned her guard not to mention the new development yet. Now she wondered if that was smart.

Leaving her room, she strode to the lounge where she knew he would be at that time of the day. When she got there, he was sitting cross-legged on his favorite chair, sipping coffee with something else in it.

"Good morning, Alpha," she mumbled.

He gave an irritated look without responding.

"Molly, get me a cup of what the Alpha's having," she called out to the servant.

"Yes, Miss Cliffe."
