We'll give them war!

"I Killian Winterfur, the son of Alpha Jethro, hereby reje ..." Killian began and Lyra's furrowed brow grew deeper in confusion.

*"Remember, one filthy human doesn't qualify the rest of other humans!"* His father's voice resounded in his head, but the urge to deny this human mate was stronger than any other thing.

He slowly dropped his hands as he looked directly into her eyes.

"Who are you?!" he finally asked.

"No, I should ask you who are you instead!"

"I was just here, enjoying my peace and quiet and then you come over sniffing and calling me mate!"

"How stupid is that?!" She asked totally brazen.

"Don't call me stupid" he whispered stepping closer to her.

"And if I do?!" She asked in a whisper moving even closer to him.

"I think the Moon Goddess knows exactly what she's doing!" Killian murmured as he stepped away from her.

"Do you not have any idea who I am ?!" He thundered, and as soon as he did that the trees shook and his eyes glowed golden yellow.

Lyra's eyes widened as she watched the trees shake and Killian's eyes turn golden yellow. She took a step back in shock, staring at him with a hint of fear in her eyes.

"I'm the Alpha of this pack!" He added, Killian's face glinted with a small smirk, he was getting the reaction he wanted from her.

Lyra's stare slowly softened as she erupted in laughter.

"You're the alpha?" she said through her giggles.

"Like the ones in paranormal movies yeah,"

"I'm the Alpha, I'm the Alpha" she said deepening her voice with her chest dramatically puffed out, and her shoulders dramatically high.

"You had me going there for a minute." She said with a small laugh as she dropped her hands and returned to her initial posture.

Killian telling her he was the Alpha crossed her mind again and Lyra couldn't help but burst out laughing. Killian's reaction was so over the top to her that it was almost comical.

She concluded that she actually had nothing to fear from him.

"What's so funny?" he growled, His attempt to intimidate her not working as he had hoped.

"You're the alpha?" she asked again with a smirk.

"Well, congratulations, I'm sure that means a lot to you and your pack."

"I'm sorry I didn't recognize you sooner, Your Majesty," she said, a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

Killian looked slightly embarrassed, he soon realized that Lyra had no idea who werewolves actually are and their way of life, rank and all. He tried to hide his embarrassment with a confident posture.

"Of course, I'm the Alpha. I'm in charge of this whole Pack!"

"I'm sure you are," Lyra said, her tone indicating that she wasn't convinced.

Killian took a step forward, his eyes still glowing. "You should show some respect. I could have you kicked out of this territory if I ...."

Lyra rolled her eyes. "Look, I don't want any trouble. I'm just passing through." She said cutting him off.

"And I actually don't have time for all these!" She said and turned around to leave.

Killian just stood there and watched her walk away.

She suddenly stopped and turned to look at him.

"You know, I was actually thinking about how boring the past five days had been, thank you for telling me a joke and making me laugh!" She said and walked away.

"This is not a joke!" Killian yelled after her but she didn't even turn around to pay him any attention.

"Yeah right!" She murmured as she kept on walking not looking back.

Back at the Pack House .....

"Killian, my Man!" Someone greeted immediately Killian walked into the house, he slowly raised his head up to see his best friend and Beta of the pack.

"Hey Sebastian you're back" he whispered his voice down and seemingly exhausted.

Sebastian is his best friend and Beta of starlight pack, he was the second in command and handled import issues concerning the pack also.

Sebastian was as old as Killian also and just as handsome as Killian, although once it comes to beautiful there was a clear gap from Killian to Sebastian.

Sebastian immediately noticed the exhausted look on Killian's face and frowned.

"What's wrong, man? You look like you've been through a lot." He said with a small smile and Killian scoffed.

"I finally met my mate!" He said lowly as he walked to the nearest couch and plopped on it.

"Really?! That's good news! You had me there for a minute" Sebastian said excitedly as he walked towards Killian on the couch.

"I don't think so, because she's human and oblivious of our kind!" He said and just like soapy water poured on fire, Sebastian excitement died down.

"Tell me you're joking!" He whispered as he slowly took his seat beside Killian.

"Do I look like I can joke about something so critical!" Killian said turning to him.

"Woahhh!, This is one hell of a critical situation!" He whispered as he reached for his jaw and caressed it slowly.

"It is man! It is!" Killian whispered in reply.

"She didn't even let me talk or explain before she took off! Now where the hell do I know she is !" He lamented.

"I'm sure the mate bond will pull you to each other again!" Sebastian replied.

"Anyway, that's by the way, what news did you bring from where you went?!" Killian asked as his voice steadily transitioned to a more serious tone and he sat up straight.

"They are accepting no compromise!" Sebastian replied.

"What do you mean they're accepting no compromise?!"

"We were gracious enough to even try to come to a meaningful agreement and now they are behaving like they have a choice!"

Killian shook his head in disappointment.

"I knew it was too good to be true. They've always been stubborn and unwilling to change their ways."

Sebastian nodded in agreement.

"Yes, but this time it's different. They seem to have gained more support from their allies and they're more determined than ever." He said and Killian let out a frustrated sigh.

" I'm sure this is Theodore's doing!"

"He's trying to ignite a war, I'm sure he wants to become stronger by forming alliance with all small parks around us before coming for us !"

"We can't let this escalate into a full-blown war. We need to find a way to resolve this peacefully."Sebastian said, the corner of Killian's lips slowly stretched into a smile as he stood up and tucked his hands into his pockets.

"They want war?!"

"We'll give them war!" He whispered.

"No way, Killian what are you talking about!" Sebastian asked as he stood up immediately.

"Go and prepare the warrior's, I'll go to see Xander and his brother later!" He said as he walked away, ignoring Sebastian's call for him to have a change of mind.

Meanwhile ...

"Hi!" The guy who lived next door to Lyra waved at her with a small smile as she walked into the house.

She held onto the door knob about to walk in and ignore him as usual, but he quickly raced over to her side and stretched out his hands to her.

"I'm Maximilian!" He whispered, she halted, slowly looked down at his hands and then back up at his face.

"What is it?! Or are you the Beta of this pack also?!" She asked her voice dropping sarcasm and his brows creased in confusion as he stared at her.

"Beta?! I'm not the Beta, I'm just a normal Pack wolf!" He replied and she raised her brows at him, the corner of her lips curved downwards.

"Normal Pack wolf, really?!" She scoffed as she finally twisted the door knob and walked into the house, slamming the door shut in Maximilian's face.

"What is wrong with everyone in this town!" She murmured exasperatedly, raising her hand up in the air.
