Chapter Fifteen: Scheming

Erika’s POV

Just as I thought I was going to spend the rest of my day in hunger, I heard footsteps behind me and I turned back with only one thought in my mind, Anita was here for me.

Unfortunately, I was met with Ciro’s familiar face.

“Heyy!” he drawled out in his signature lazy voice and as much as I was disappointed, I didn’t want to push my aggression on the one and only person that had helped me in this pack.

“Hi, what brings you here?” I asked, looking at his hand that held a bag while his other hand was in his pocket giving him an overall relaxed look.

“Was making a trip to a friend’s place, seems like you need the company more though.”

“Why? Did you see me just now?” I desperately hoped he hadn’t, after all, that would be the second time he would be meeting me at my lowest point. I would have fainted if I had any idea there was any more time.
