Erika’s POV I was perhaps half a foot from utopia in dreamland when I felt my covers being yanked from my body and the evening’s chill air wrapped around me, forcing me to open my eyes. My eyes widened in surprise as I saw Ciro’s familiar face right in front of me. “W..why are you here?” i asked nervously as I hoped that this wasn’t one of those evil things I had read in books in the past. I was certainly defenseless around a male shifter. “Relax, Killian asked me to bring you over,” he said and then stretched his hands so that I could take it and sit up. “The elders of the pack would like to meet you,” he added immediately as I stood up. The pack had given all of us from the previous pack three clothes that was for all the seasons and I was planning to make some for myself as soon as we got to sell the dresses we had made. For the meantime, i carried the woolen sweater and pulled it to my chin as I followed Ciro. my mind swirled with thoughts and questions of why the pack e
Killian’s POV Alek growled with wild abandon in me and I clenched my fists to restrain it from causing havoc. At the sight of our mate being kicked and slapped by John, I felt weak for the first time in my twenty-eight years. I had ruled the pack and this world for the past fifteen years. And for the first time, someone was touching what was mine. Trampling on what was mine. I wasn’t scared of John. I had allowed him to act as a tyrant all these years because he meant to threaten me, my Alpha suppression was enough to take a man like him down. However, if I took him down now in front of everyone here, all of them would know. They would know exactly how I felt about Erika and how important she was to my wolf and me. And as soon as they knew that, the pack and she would no longer be safe. As soon as the enemies outside and maybe even inside know that she was my weakness and growing reverse scale, the attempts on her life would be even worse than this. If she had a wolf, perhaps
KILLIAN’S POV As the alpha, I had never knelt in the past twenty-five years of my life. My mother would always scoff and tell me that I was born with pride that was beyond my age. And uncle Paul had done well to foster it. Not for once had I ever bowed even my head to someone. Yet now, I knelt in front of Erika as my heart bled with her. I hated that fate did this to us. I didn’t want to hurt her. But the first responsibility of an alpha was their pack. So was mine. And Erika was no Luna for this pack. She was too weak and brittle for this role. And so despite how much I had stalled, I knew I had no choice at this point. I had to reject her, and take her far away to where she could live her own life to the fullest. “Killian, don’t you dare!” Uncle Paul’s voice boomed from downstairs and I rushed out of the room that Erika had been placed in wondering what was wrong. Paul released his suppression as he glared at all of the help until everyone had gone as far as they cou
ERIKA’s POV it was like I was on some long journey to nowhere, my entire body was heavy and in pain and I was struggling to open my eyes so that I could see. It was so hard, so painful. And then, at some point, something had come and helped me make the journey less painful. I still couldn’t see but at least, I was no longer in pain. Eventually, my eyes opened and I looked at the unfamiliar room around me. One more night again and I was in another room. As I tried to move my arms, it felt heavy like something was pressing down on it and I turned to see what it was. Killian! I don’t know how I was able to know it was him from his mess of black curls that was on the bed beside me but I just knew. This was a first, usually, I would just wake up with Ciro there, but never had it been Killian. More importantly, he looked like he was still sleeping. “He was up all night, please let him sleep,” I heard Ciro’s familiar voice from a corner in the room and I saw him leaning on t
ERIKA’s POV True to their words, the whole thing had changed and so when I made my way down after lunch to the clothing factory, only Luke and his assistant were busying around. “Erika!” Luke called out as soon as he saw me and I smiled and waved at him even though I was eventually going to where he was. “Are you okay?” He asked as soon as I reached where he was. Half of the front was already full with clothes on all the racks and he was currently arranging some more. “I heard all the rumors so don’t think of giving me some perfunctory reply,” he added immediately and I smiled slightly. “Nothing I’m not used to really, I’m fine,” I said and then squirmed when he looked at me deeply for close to a minute. “Okay, if you say so,” he said with a shrug and then relented. The corners of my lips raised a little as I watched him leave to do other things. In truth, yesterday was embarrassing and terrifying. But maybe it was because I knew that Killian was trying to prove that t
KILLIAN’s POV I smelt the sweet and alluring fragrance that accompanied Erika the moment I stepped into the fashion faction. Usually, I would keep away from visiting here as I knew that the majority of them were usually girls. Mingling with the young girls in my pack was something I avoided like plague. Other than how irritating it could get with all the stares and more than obvious signals, the chatter was also really annoying. And so over the years, even though I visited only one faction before returning, the fashion faction had never crossed my list. Thankfully, Luke was one of our buddies and understood why he had to stay away. But this time, after listening to him talk about the works of Erika passionately for a week now, I was more than curious about the skills of this my mate. How could she have learned in less than two weeks and made clothes that would have James blabbing so much like this? I was more than curious to know and so with Ciro, we had tactically decided
ERIKA’s POV Without Diana, life became relatively easier and even though I also didn’t cross paths with Killian and Ciro in the last week, I didn’t mind. I had maintained a routine of staying indoors all the time making dresses and only leaving to have them dropped off with Luke. Although my hands were tired, Luke allowed me to use the workshop machines very early in the morning when a lot of other people had yet to arrive and so like that, I would go early and do the finishing to my dresses while I’ll go back and start another batch. Like this, I had maintained a record of three outfits a day. Of course, this was only achieved with the sleep time that I sacrificed. But I was making a lot of money, a whole lot as clothes here had even more value than they did in our human world. Since I had the intention to run soon, I had to make as much money as I could from here. As soon as I had a map of where I was going to pass through out of here, I was going to leave immediately. I
ERIKA’s POV I sighed for the tenth time this evening as I looked through the window looking out for Sandra’s figure. Heaven knows that I could feel my heart beating ten times faster than its normal speed. “Heavens help me get out of here safely,” I murmured and then pulled my coat tighter around my body. Although the material for this dark fur coat would have been expensive in the human world, it was the cheapest here and they felt it insulting to wear fur as clothing. I had also kept it away, not wearing it to avoid tongues wagging. But now I needed it since I had no idea how cold it was going to get. Sandra appeared finally and my shoulders shagged with relief as she ran into my room. “Sorry I’m late, my sister was being nosy and didn’t want to leave my room,” she said amidst pants and I rushed to pick up the bag that she had dropped. “Let me give you this one I’m putting on, it’s more reliable,” she explained and quickly pulled off the top she was wearing and passed it
