Moon Phase 8: A pack of werewolves surrounded us.

(EL POV)

"Kid, nothing can ever take away the grief of my daughter's death. I feel guilty killing those younglings as I know the feeling of loosing someone. Save yourself and prove to us that we are wrong about your kind."

"Wenziel!" shouted his fellow vampire. The spear that was aimed at me pierced another vampire instead.

"I'm sorry Herzog, but this kid needs to prove something to me. I can't let you prevent that from happening." his comrades started to attack him. The old vampire winked at me and started laughing.

"I need to finish killing all of them so that no one would know that I'm a traitor of my own kind."

He chose to fight on our side.

I noticed that there's only three of us left on our side which includes the old vampire, but Uncle Rankin seems to have lost control of himself. Shit, not my Uncle...

I remembered what we talked about before...

"What if you lost control of yourself someday Uncle Rankin?" he laughed at me.

"Kill me. I don't want to harm anyone. You have to promise me that you'll kill me." his answer made me laugh.

"That would be the most difficult task from you." I hope that day would never come.

But now, that's exactly what's happening to him.

I was trying to get his attention, but he has totally lost it. He viciously killed every vampire close to his range. He was ripping his victim’s limbs off with such violence, snarling and growling filled with bloodlust. It's the most brutal thing I've witnessed him doing.

"That's what a real werewolf's true form looks like kid."

Uncle Rankin have finished killing everyone when he looked at our way. His eyes didn't belong to my uncle anymore, he's already consumed by whatever triggered his affliction. He started to charge at us, Wenziel fired his rifle.

I approached him, he only managed to hurt my shoulder. He will killed me already if not Wenziel fired his riffles again.

"Uncle Rankin, it's me!" His eyes were all dark but he managed to talk to me using telepathy.

"Remember what you have promised me, Young Lord EL. Please… Do it.” There a spear besides me. A silver spear… A tears already falling in my eyes. I don’t want to do this Uncle Rankin.

But as he attack me again, I managed to… struck the silver weapon to him.

Uncle Rankin, pitiful gave me a smile. “It's been an honor serving you young lord." and his eyes closed drowning to his own death.

I did what he made me promise, I killed my own mentor.

I screamed in sorrow and grief. My tears fell as I wrapped my arms around him. Memories about him, rushing back. His laugh, being mean, his words and the kicked I received from him. I lost him.

This is exactly what my father felt when he killed my mother. “Uncle Rankinnn!”

Mom was right... Fear and love could never walk the same path. A drizzle of water to comfort my grief has cover my tears. The thunder scream for me.

"Hey kid. You have to go. Vampires will be here any minute."

(Samantha's POV)

My husband and I was having a conversation when Aiden and his aides walked toward us. I grabbed my husband's hand and held it tightly. The grin on his lips was irritatingly mocking.

"My apologies, am I interrupting something?

"No... It's fine."

"I just want to thank you for the hard work you have shown us. And I'm sorry that we caused you to deny your time with your wife." I clenched Albert's hand even tighter. My husband knows that I couldn't stand the presence of the monster standing right in front of us.

Don't he ever dare speak about the atrocity he has done to me, or we will make a serum that will wipe out his kind. I looked down to avoid his disgusting sight.

"Welcome Mr. Aiden. Me and my wife knows the risks that comes in my work. We were just talking about that actually."

"Sweet. I know that your wife has been waiting long enough." My husband smiled in response.

"Have a good night Sir. Please excuse us. Me and my wife need to go now." Albert took my glass and guided me away from those monsters. I could tell that he doesn't like Aiden's company too.

We were met by a group of businessmen on our way out, they were asking for an appointment from him. My husband kept smiling but I know that he's already pissed by these greedy pigs.

"Please excuse us gentlemen." Albert humbleness once again reign within.

"We just need to hear your approval Dr. Curie." someone pleaded.

"I'm sorry gentleman, but I'm officially retired. I'm done here." A man caught my attention, he was staring at us while grinning. What’s that for? He is not a vampire.

My husband pulls me, by this time, the government's men started to escort us. They were blocking numerous businessmen trying to get closer to us.

Enough of this already.

(Dr. Albert’s POV)

Just ignore them Albert, your wife needs you. You've promised her that all of this will be over as soon as you make the serum. Her hand was tightly holding mine. That was my motivation to refuse every businessman's offer during that night.

The car was already waiting for us. I opened the door for my wife. We sat on the back seat; the rain started falling shortly after. The government ordered the military to escort us to our home, I am just glad that it's all over.

Samantha rested her head by the window, arms clutched around her. She looked disconnected.

"Samantha." I got her attention and looked at me, as if to say, let's get away from here.

I reached for her cheek and gently pinched, she smiled.

"You're not feeling well?" she shook her head and rested them on my shoulder, her eyes were closed while I put my arms around her and gently rubbed her left shoulder.

"I hope this catastrophe ends soon. I wish all the vampires and werewolves are gone. I wish." I didn't respond, I'm also hoping for that. But just like us, they're also creatures trying to live in this world.

"It took us almost a year to finish the serum." I thought she wasn't going to speak.

"At least it only took as one year, we won't be wasting more time anymore." Her head nodded on my shoulder; I know that she wants to sleep. I aided her and held her hands, it felt cold.

"Samantha, your shivering." I touched her forehead with my palm. She was having fever. I fixed the coat I put around her trying to make her feel warm. I noticed a reddish mark on her neck, is it because of fever? She noticed that I paused momentarily and looked into my eyes.

"Samantha." while she fixed the coat to her desire.

"What happened to your neck?" She responded me with a smile.

"It must have been the tequila you gave me. I didn't notice that it was pineapple flavor. You know that I'm allergic to that fruit." she leaned back on her seat and clutched herself again with the coat.

"I'm sorry." I'm aware of her allergy. I was sure that I gave her a drink that won't trigger her allergies. She nodded gently.

I guided her head to rest on my shoulder. Her temperature was getting hotter. I need to get her home soon. She's having fever.

She finally managed to fall asleep. The mark on her neck revealed again when her hands let go of the coat. I am about to examine it when…  the car in front of our convoy suddenly stopped.

"What's the problem?" I asked our chauffeur. I looked outside the window, It’s almost midnight but the moonlight glared the streets from the darkness... There I saw the answer to my question... A pack of werewolves surrounded us.

This isn't good.

The military guards headed outside their vehicle to protect us. I held onto my wife and prevent her from hearing the commotion outside.

I needed to prepare myself, I rested my wife on her seat tucked with my coat and reached for my briefcase. I opened it and took my fifty-caliber revolver. What do these creatures want?

Vampires and werewolves, both are threat to humanity.

The beasts started to attack our escorts; their guns weren't dealing much damage to these savages. I loaded up my gun full rounds of silver bullets and went outside.

"Stop!" Their assault stopped as soon as I revealed myself. They already managed to disarm most of the military guards but didn't kill them. The werewolves weren't in their full form but the moon is on their side boosting their abilities, three pairs of eyes looked familiar to me.

They were the ones observing us recently!

"Nobody move! My gun is loaded with silver. I will not hesitate to shoot!"
