I’m already prepared to fight or flight should he ever come face to face with me again.

My gaze automatically followed the cedar-and-pine scent. There, in the shadows of the outdoor parking lot, stood my ex-boyfriend.

A deep frown was what I noticed first. Then the hands on his pockets before my eyes glancing back at his face. His eyes were glowing with that golden signature stare of a werewolf on one step to shifting.
