Chapter 26- Stranger in the Forest

Jamari’s POV

The sound of Morgana’s dragging feet and heavy breathing follows me as we make our way through the dense forest. It has been two days since we were dropped here in the Fae Realm. Two days of running around in the dark with little light to brighten our days and no idea which direction we should take.

We haven’t come across any other creatures here in the forest after our run in with the cursed giants. The quiet constantly engulfing us was enough to drive a person mad, especially when the feeling of being watched hasn’t dissipated even once since arriving in this Realm.

Morgana lets out a tired sigh behind me, her breathing becoming heavier by the second, alarming Rieka, causing her to perk up in my mind as she focuses her ears on Morgana. ‘She needs to rest Mari.’ Rieka tells me softly, her focus completely on Morgana as she stumbles around in the dark.

We’ve been moving constantly since our rendezvous in the hot springs yesterday, my sad attempt to keep distance between
