Elowen's POV

I picked up the key, smiling.

"I didn't know you had it in you to escape, Luna," Hayley said, startling me and I immediately hid the key behind me, scared.

"When did you come in? I don't recall inviting you in," I glared at her, keeping the key hidden behind me and she simply smiled, bowing her head.

"I apologize, Luna, for barging in without knocking. I just decided to check in on you after everything that's happened with Merlin and the Alpha brothers."

"Wait, are you following me around now?" I furrowed my eyebrows at her, displeased.

"I'm just acting on Alpha Liam's orders. I was tasked with the duty of watching you, and reporting your every move to him if I wanted to remain alive," she replied and I clenched my hands tightly around the key.

She saw the key, I can't have her saying anything if I wanted to escape without being caught. I can't believe the asshole had me watched all this time.

"So what are you going to do? Run off and tell him I'm plotting my escape?" I chuckled, deciding not to feign ignorance anymore. After all, she already caught me.

"Actually," she looked up, meeting my eyes. She had that annoying smile on her face again and it upsets me.

"I never really thought you'd try to escape Luna. You looked like you were ready to adapt to your new life."

I huffed in annoyance, rolling my eyes. I twirled around, returning the key back to the wardrobe before facing her, my mind made up.

"Have you ever been pregnant, Hayley?" I asked, slowly approaching her. She moved back until her back was against the wall and she had nowhere else to go.

"No, but I've helped with a lot of pregnancies," she replied, looking uncomfortable as I cornered her, leaving her no room to escape.

"Have you ever lost a parent or both parents?" I asked further, my eyes fixated on her.

"I'm an orphan and never got the luxury of meeting either of my parents," she replied and I chuckled.

"Lucky you then, you won't have to go through the horror of watching them die."

I moved her hair out of her face, pushing it to the back of her ear. "Especially not by your hands," I added, smiling sadly.

"Luna," she whispered, her eyes filled with pity and I pulled away, blinking away the tears in my eyes. I didn't want to cry because I don't think I'll be able to stop if I start crying.

"Let me tell you a sad little story, Hayley." I walked towards the window, staring out into the field. The air was refreshing but it was not enough to make me feel better or less sad.

"A little girl was born into this world with a cruel fate. You see, she was not like the other kids who were purely werewolves; she was different. You could say she was a monster. Even her mother abandoned her for that same reason. She had only her father to care for her before she met them. Her best friend, Raven and her mate, Caden," I paused, picking out a flower from the vase, admiring its beauty.

"Well, one would expect that she would be granted a happily ever after but then fate had other plans. Her mate rejected her and her unborn baby on their very special day. Her best friend betrayed her, stealing her mate and the entire pack turned against her. The only thing she had left was her poor father who still loved her even though she was a monster." I paused briefly, turning to face Hayley. She had a sad look in her eyes and I smiled.

"But guess what? This ungrateful daughter killed her father to save herself and when she tried to escape with the only thing she had left, her baby, she lost it. She was incapable of protecting anything; not her father, not her baby." I completed and a tear slipped out of Hayley's eyes.

"There's no way I'll be at peace knowing that the people that made my life miserable are still alive, having the time of their life when my dad and baby are both dead and my life is ruined. There's no way I'll accept a new start without bringing them the same misery they brought me. I owe them that much after everything," I said, my fangs and claws coming out.

"I'm sorry Hayley, but I'm not going to let you stop me from leaving." Without giving it a thought, I attacked Hayley, going for her throat.

"Go ahead and kill me, Elowen," she said, making me pause in my tracks, totally confused. She made no attempt to dodge my attack nor did she try to attack me back.

"If it will make you feel a bit better then go ahead and do it."

"Shouldn't you be begging me not to kill you and try to stop me since you're stronger?"

She smiled, "I choose not to and even if you kill me this instant I can't hate you. If I should hate anything, it will be fate, for being cruel to you."

"Are you crazy or just plain ass stupid?" I asked, my eyes filled with tears.

"I'm just a maid who shares in your pain. It's a gift to feel people's true emotions but most times it feels like a curse. You might not believe me but I feel every bit of your pain and although I can make you feel better for a while I can never really take away the pain and memory," she replied and the tears came rushing out in torrents.

"It's okay, cry it all out," she pulled me closer and I cried on her shoulders, not holding back.

She simply stood still and let me cry my eyes out. I don't know how long I cried on her shoulders but I eventually stopped crying and I pulled away, feeling a bit embarrassed to have broken down in front of her like that.

"So what are you going to do? Take the key from me or report me to Liam?" I muttered, looking away.

"I'll be doing none of that," she replied, smiling and I faced her, surprised.

"I'll help you escape, Elowen," she added, shocking me.

"You're willing to betray Liam just to help me escape?" I asked with my eyebrows raised, finding it hard to believe. Was she being serious or does she have an ulterior motive?

"I know it's hard to believe but take it as my little gift to you. It's the only thing I can do for you right now," she replied.

I folded my hands across my chest, watching her for a while, not saying anything. "How can I trust that you're not going to betray me?"

She dipped her hand into her pocket, bringing out something and she drew closer to me.

"Here, take this," she gave me a penchant and I took it, frowning.

"What am I supposed to do with this?

"I had a witch make it for you. It will help you control your cravings for human blood until you're able to control it on your own. Take it as my promise not to betray you."

I accessed the penchant, not saying anything. I still didn't trust her. After all she is still a vampire and one of Liam's lackeys. She could just be messing with me but I don't have a choice than to trust her, do I?

"Do we have a deal?"

  • Alpha Twins' Hybrid Mate   BACK FROM THE DEAD

Elowen's POV My stomach grumbles loudly, making me frown. I wrapped my hands around my stomach, looking around to be sure no one heard that. Luckily enough for me there were only a few people in class and they were occupied in their various conversations totally ignoring me. My stomach grumbled again reminding me of the fact that I needed to eat. I'm beginning to regret refusing to eat before leaving Liam's house. I probably won't be this hungry if I did. Even if I wanted to get something to eat now I didn't have any money to buy anything and I don't know anyone willing to talk to me or lend me some money. After Riley came back to life I might have snapped her neck again to be sure it was all real. Adrian had to take her away and keep her hidden for the meantime from Liam and Merlin until she came back to life again. So, I'm left with no one but myself and my grumbling stomach."Elowen," Merlin called, smiling gleefully and my mood turned sour by just seeing her face. I seriously w

  • Alpha Twins' Hybrid Mate   A STRANGE HUMAN

Elowen's POV For a second I might have forgotten that my life now revolves around the Alpha brothers. Although, I might have taken the closest flight out of Liam's house but not out of his world which would explain why he was standing before us looking so hot yet dangerous. "Liam?" Merlin called, equally surprised to see him."What are you doing here?""I'm doing the questioning here, Merlin and I remember asking a question. Do I have to repeat myself?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows at us."I'm just surprised to see you in school after all this time. I thought you were—" the remaining words froze in her throat when she saw the scary look on Liam's face."Nothing serious is happening, Liam. I was just showing Elowen around the school and giving her a little welcome to our school," she replied, smiling tight-lipped."Right Elowen?" She placed her hands on her shoulders, smiling at me like a creep with her friends whil

  • Alpha Twins' Hybrid Mate   SAVED BY A HUMAN

Elowen's POV Whatever courage I had a few minutes ago to introduce myself to the entire class was now non-existent.I sat on an empty seat behind the class, wishing I could just become invisible. Maybe then I won't have to tolerate the hateful and curious look I was getting from everyone. The teacher went about her work, teaching us chemistry. I really didn't understand how any of this was to be of any use to me. Not only were there vampires and werewolves in the school, there were also humans mixed in amongst us.I was curious. Was it possible that they were oblivious to the vampires and werewolves surrounding them or are they aware of their presence but then chose to remain quiet? If it was the latter then they were stupid to think they would ever be safe around vampires plus they were clearly outnumbered."Miss Amelia will be upset if she finds out you're not taking any notes in her class," a girl seating beside me whispered

  • Alpha Twins' Hybrid Mate   A NEW STUDENT

Elowen's POV I sat still in the Principal's office, looking around as I waited to be attended to. It's been almost an hour since I got here and still no one has bothered to attend to me. It's either they are not aware of my presence or they chose just not to pay me any heed. I'm thinking it's the latter because I met the secretary on my way in and she told me to wait in the Principal's office, he'll join me soon. I sighed in frustration, relaxing my back as I closed my eyes. It's my first day in school and I'm already this frustrated. Who knows what else lies ahead, waiting for me.Liam snuck into my thoughts and I couldn't help but frown. It's my first day of school and he didn't even bother to bid me goodbye, or wish me a nice day. He simply vanished from the house, no one having an idea of where to find him or an inkling of where he went."Not like I care anyways about him," I muttered under my breath. "Liar," my conscience sneered at me, making me frown. Even my conscience isn

  • Alpha Twins' Hybrid Mate   PROMISE BY BLOOD

Elowen's POVI glared at my reflection in the mirror, frowning. I looked strange in a school uniform. I never had to attend school when Caden was my mate. Raven, Caden and I had private tutors that taught us all we needed to know. I've always wanted to go to school with the other students and experience real school life but I never did. I should be happy to be getting my wish now but I didn't want it to be this way. I felt pathetic.I keep losing people around me and yet I'm expected to live like my life is not so messed up. Maybe I'm cursed never to have anyone stick too close. It's either they betray me or they die just like Hayley and my dad.I smiled sadly, knotting my tie. A tear slipped from my eyes as my mind went to my dad.I missed him. Since it was just us, I always knotted his tie and made sure he looked presentable. It still feels surreal but he's really gone. "Luna," someone called, startling me. I glanced back to see a maid, standing beside my packed bags. I wonder

  • Alpha Twins' Hybrid Mate   A THIN LINE BETWEEN LOVE AND HATE

Ethan's POV "Are you just going to keep standing there giving me that judging look?" I sighed, turning to face Adrian, my beta. After introducing Elowen as our mate and a new student of our school, he's been silent which is odd for someone as chatty as Adrian. "What else am I to do, Ethan? I'm flabbergasted by your actions. What were you thinking, introducing her to everyone like that?" Adrian asked, frowning and I shrugged, nonchalant. "The timing felt right and we both know it's not something we can hide forever. Sooner or later word will get out and either way everyone will still get to know about her." He gawked at me in disbelief, speechless. As dissatisfying as it must be to reveal Elowen to danger, it was quite satisfying to claim her as mine in the presence of everyone. The look on her face when I did made me smile. "Were you also serious about her joining the school?" Adrian asked, gaining his voi
