If anyone ever told me that my once perfect life would change in a split second I would have called them crazy and laughed it off but this is my reality. I stepped into the ballroom, smiling. I had every reason to be happy. I am finally getting engaged to Alpha Caden, my mate and the father of my unborn pups. What more could I want? "I can't believe we allowed that abomination to live amongst us for years. She deserves to be stoned." My ears perked up, hearing the ladies murmur. I frowned, wondering what this was all about. I looked around and saw people giving me weird stares. Some openly glared at me while others avoided looking at me as though I disgusted them. "What's going on?" I murmured, not knowing why the air around me felt hostile. My eyes finally found one familiar face amongst the crowd, Raven, my best friend who has been away for some months. "She made it," I smiled gleefully, walking up to her but her mother stepped in front of her, blocking her from my view. "And where do you think you're going, you blood sucker?" She glared at me, her eyes full of hate and disgust. "Mom," I called, my face clouded with shock. "Who is your mom?" She spat in disgust, throwing me deeper into confusion. "I can't be a mother to a blood sucking vampire!" I gasped in horror, my hands flying to my mouth unable to believe my ears. By now everyone has gathered around us, watching the drama. "How can you call me that?" My voice cracked and I felt tears threatening to roll down my eyes but I fought it. I am the future Luna of this pack. I can't act weak in front of the people I ought to lead and protect. "Because that's that you are Elowen, an abomination that should never have been allowed to walk the face of this earth," she replied, her eyes fierce and full of scorn towards me. "Raven," I called, glancing at her, hiding behind her mom. "Tell them the truth Raven, I'm still a werewolf, I'm still part of the pack. I've never tasted blood in my entire life," I pleaded tearfully but she did nothing but just stand there and watch me. "Raven," I called, my heart breaking into a thousand pieces. I felt my baby kick as though it could feel my sadness and pain. I wrapped my hands around my tummy, protectively, trying so hard not to break down in front of everyone. "Elowen," Raven called, finally saying something and my eyes perked up, a glint of hope in them. "It's true that I know you, better than anyone else here but do you really think I'll lie to keep you safe and put every other person here at risk?" She asked, her eyes cold, holding no warmth towards me. "Raven?" I staggered back in shock, unable to believe my ears. "We all know you're a hybrid Elowen, an abomination that should never have existed in the first place and it doesn't matter if you've never tasted blood, Elowen, you're still a blood sucker," she added, taking strides towards me. "Raven," I called, tears rolling down my cheeks in torrents. "You're not one of us, Elowen. You're an existence that should never have existed in the first place," she spat at me in disgust and the others agreed with her, hurling insults at me and calling me names. Standing in the middle of the ballroom being insulted and called names was not how I envisioned my engagement ceremony. The eyes of everyone that once shone with love and admiration for me now burned with anger and hatred towards me. What was left of my heart broke into a thousand more pieces and I clutched my belly, trying to stop myself from collapsing. I had to be strong for the baby and Caden. Caden wouldn't want me to be weak in this situation, he would want me to handle the situation like a real Luna. "I have just one question for you Raven," I wiped my tears, meeting her gaze head on. "What would an abomination want to ask me?" She frowned, glaring at me in disgust. "Why?" I asked and everyone immediately went silent, watching us. Raven took steps towards me until she was just an inch away. "Can't you see Elowen? No one wants a werewolf and vampire in their midst. No one wants to have anything to do with an abomination. Not even Caden will want anything to do with you now that the truth is out." "You're wrong," I replied, refusing to believe her. "Caden will never hurt me. He loves me, he loves our baby." Raven smirked, taking a step back. "I hate to break it to you Elowen, but no one wants an abomination in their lives, not even your precious mate, Caden." Everyone around me began murmuring again, calling me names. "What if the baby in her belly doesn't even belong to the Alpha?" They whispered and I kept my hands wrapped around my belly protectively. "She is a blood sucking demon, what if the baby turns out like her? We can't have a blood sucker as our future Alpha." "Don't worry baby, mummy is going to protect you," I smiled, fighting back my tears. I moved away from everyone, unable to handle the scorn and hate. It was just too much for me to handle. Right now what I needed was my mate. I needed Caden. "Caden, where are you?" I whispered, trying to reach out to him through our mate bond but I was replied with silence. "Can I have your attention everyone!" Aiden, Caden's beta, called out, reaching everyone through the pack link and I paused, standing in front of the ballroom, waiting for Caden to show up. If Aiden was here that means Caden wasn't far away himself. "Alpha Caden would like to have a word with everyone," he announced and Caden stepped into the ballroom, escorted by his most loyal allies and elders. Everyone cleared the path for him, bowing slightly as he progressed forward. He had this scary look on his face, one I've never seen before and I couldn't help but worry. "Caden!" I called, trying to reach out to him as he got to where I was but he ignored me, walking past me like I was invisible. "Caden," I muttered, my heart breaking into a thousand pieces more. The ladies behind me laughed and mocked me, calling me more names. "He probably didn't see me," I muttered under my breath. Caden will never turn his back on me or his baby, he loves me, he loves us," I assured myself, refusing to think otherwise. "Good evening everyone," Caden spoke up, his voice reverberating around the entire room. "I thank you for gracing this occasion with your presence. I want to apologize for my late arrival. An issue required my urgent intervention and I couldn't leave it unattended as it has to do with my mate, Elowen," his cold eyes met with mine and I felt my body shudder under his intent gaze. The entire ballroom broke into murmurs, everyone wondering what issue the Alpha had to attend to. "Elowen, if you'll please come up here?" Caden called out to me and my face broke into smiles. I walked up to him and stood beside him, smiling. I was right, Caden still loves me and wouldn't believe anything anyone says. "Elowen tell the pack what you truly are and who the father of your kid is," he said, and a look of horror clouded my face. "Caden!" I faced him, dumbfounded. Every single person had their eyes on us and the hall fell quiet as they all watched us. "Don't act clueless or innocent, Elowen!" He gritted his teeth in anger, his eyes full of hatred. The eyes that once gazed upon me with nothing but love and affection now held nothing but hatred and disgust towards me. "Caden," I whispered, refusing to believe the truth staring right at me in the face. "Did you think I'll never find out that you're a hybrid? A creature of the night that is an abomination to our existence?" "Caden, it's still me, Elowen, I'm still your mate, your Luna and the mother of your kid." I was shaking now, unable to hold myself together anymore. This could not be happening. No, this had to be a dream, a bad dream I needed to wake up from. "Do not lie to my face Elowen!" He struck me across the face and I flew away, wrapping my hands around my belly protectively as I landed painfully on the cold floor. "Caden," I sobbed, unable to hold back my tears anymore. Caden hit me for the first time. I could feel it His rage! His hate! His disgust! It was so overwhelming. "I know that child does not belong to me, Elowen and I am going to prove it." He grimaced, his voice filled with hate. "Aiden, bring in the traitor's father!" He demanded. Aiden nodded and left with some of the guards, returning back with my battered father, dragging him on the floor. "Father!" I yelled, rushing to his side. "I'm sorry, Elowen," he apologized, unable to open his eyes due to how bruised up he was. "Caden, what do you think you're doing? He is your father in-law!" I sprang up in fury, facing him. "Is he? I guess I must have forgotten. He looks more like a beggar now," he mocked and the entire hall burst into laughter. "You can insult me all you want Caden but I will not have you insult my father," I clenched my fist in anger, tears still rolling down my cheeks. "Do not forget your place Elowen! I am still the Alpha, your Alpha and you will respect me!" He glowered and I felt my knees wobble, kneeling before him. "Your father told me everything, Elowen. Your mother was a vampire and their unholy union led to your existence. You're an abomination that should never have existed and that that baby in your belly is a blood sucker and I want no part in it," he deadpanned. This had to be a very bad dream. I needed to wake up. None of this was right, it couldn't be, I shook my head in tears, to accept all that was happening right now. "Before the goddess and the pack, I, Caden Jacobs, reject you, Elowen Stark as my mate and Luna," he declared and I cried out in pain, our bond snapping into two as I collapsed on the floor. "Before I declare judgement on you, I'll introduce you to my love and the Luna of this pack," he said, ignoring the fact that I i was in excruciating pain. "Raven darling, come up here." I looked up sharply from the floor unable to believe my ears and watched Raven walk up to Caden, taking his hands. "Raven," I muttered, unable to believe my eyes and before everyone I watched my best friend kiss my mate, shattering what was left of my already shattered heart and everyone in the ballroom cheered happily, paying no attention to me. "Tell me darling, what should we do about this thing?" He asked, not sparing me a glance. "Should we have her killed or do you have a better option?" Raven glanced at me, smirking devilishly and I found it difficult to believe that she was once my best friend. What went wrong between us? "Let's spare her miserable life and have her banished instead," she replied, turning her attention back to Caden. "I have always known you to be kind Raven, but I didn't expect you to be this kind," Caden caressed her cheeks, staring at her lovingly while I watched, tears streaming down my cheeks. "Elowen," My father reached out to me, grabbing my hands. "Father." "I'm sorry Elowen, it should never have turned out like this. It's all my fault." "Father it's not your—" a sharp pain hit me, cutting me short and my eyes widened in horror. No, no, no, not now, please not now! "Arghhh!" I screamed out in pain, my voice reverberating around the entire room. "Elowen," Father rushed to my side, grabbing my hands "What's happening to her?" Caden asked, taking a step away from me. Raven crouched down beside me, accessing me coldly and I looked up, meeting her eyes. "Please, help me!" I pleaded, grabbing her hands hoping to reach whatever humanity was left of her but she hit my hands away in disgust, getting up. "She is in labor......."Elowen's POVWalking into the principal Denver's office felt like walking into a slaughter house.Besides Denver, I wasn't familiar with the numerous faces in the room but they all looked ready to have my head. "Don't just stand there, Elowen, take a seat," Denver said, equally not smiling but at least his face was less scary than the others. I cautiously took a seat placed in the middle of the council elders, gulping loudly in fear. I hate this! "Why aren't Liam and Ethan here already? Didn't they get the council summons?" One of the council elders scowled, looking displeased by the absence of Liam and Ethan. I really do wish they were here already. "Cool your pants old man, we're just 5 minutes late," Liam said boredly, walking into the room with Ethan by his side. My eyes met with his and he winked at me. My heart skipped several beats as my dream slowly came back to me. I immediately looked away, my cheeks heated in a blush. "That's no way to talk to an Elder, Liam," Denver f
Elowen's POV I moaned in pleasure every cell in my body coming alive. "Liam," I bit my lips, throwing my head back in ecstasy as he sucked hard on my nipples, fondling the other with his hand. I could feel my orgasm building up like a hurricane, every single cell and vein in my body reacting to the mere graze of his fingers. "Fuck!" I cussed, my orgasm hitting me as I came fast and hard in his hold, panting heavily. While Ethan relaxed on the bed, watching us with a burning intense gaze in his eyes. I bit my lips, feeling turned on again with him watching me and his eyes darkened, the glass cup in his hands, shattering to pieces as his grip tightened around it. How can both men be so sinfully hot and tempting all at once. "My turn," Ethan pushed Liam aside eagerly, taking over while Liam glared at the back of his head furiously, making me chuckle. "Can't I have you both at once?" I pouted, blinking my eyes cutely. "You sure you'll be able to handle us both all at once, kitten?
Elowen's POV "It's fine now." But was it really? I didn't know what to feel or how to react to everything that just happened. Besides Riley constantly telling me that I was fine, the only thing ringing in my ears was the fact that I was weak. Merlin would never have been able to compel me if I was strong enough to fight off her compulsion. Trent and the others wouldn't be dead if I was stronger to fight them off rather than let them walk all over me. Everything that has happened so far is because I'm weak. My dad is dead because I'm weak, my baby is dead because I wasn't strong enough to protect her. Harley is also dead because I was too weak to escape on my own and needed help. I'm weak and it keeps causing everyone around me to die. Of what use is this curse of being a hybrid if I'm not strong enough to do anything myself? "Elowen!" Riley yelled, and I faced her, my eyes glistened with unshed tears. "Come here," she pulled me into a hug, patting me on the back wh
Ethan's POV "It's always nice discussing business with your Ethan," Alpha Jerry smiled, stretching his hands for a handshake and I smiled. "The pleasure is mine," I took his hands, returning the handshake. "How about you stay around the pack a little while. My wife is making dinner and she is making something really special since you're here. We'll be honored to have you join us," he offered and I nodded. "Well I can't say no to a good meal now, can I?" I grinned and he chuckled. Adrian suddenly showed up, a gloomy look on his face and I frowned. Ignoring my discussion with Jerry he closed the gap between us, whispering something into my ears. The air around me suddenly changed and Alpha Jerry felt it. "Is anything wrong, Ethan?" He asked, looking concerned. I smiled tight-lipped, getting up from my seat. "I'm afraid I'll have to cut our little meeting short, Alpha Jerry. There's something I need to attend to." "Alright, I'll just let my wife know," he replied, smil
Liam's POV "He's so hot." "Sweet goddess, look at those beautiful abs." "How can a man be this hot?" I grinned, slamming the ball into the net, ending the basketball game as the whistle went off with the crowd cheering loudly. Well, technically it's just the girls screaming, trying to get me to notice them. "Liam!!" The girls cheered loudly, trying to touch me but one look from me kept them all away. So they simply stood aside, fucking me with their eyes while yelling their voices out. If only Elowen was here to see how easy it was for me to make girls scream. I couldn't help but think about how loud she'd be able to scream my name when I banged her. I bit my lips, feeling instantly hard. "Fuck!" Not thinking about her was so hard but trying to pretend she didn't have a single effect on me was harder. Those eyes of hers that only seemed to glare at me, fucked with me in a million ways than one. I hated the fact that she makes me feel this way but what I hated more is ho
Elowen's POVI'm royally fucked.Laying down on the bed to catch a little sleep for just 10 minutes was the worst decision ever. I made it to the front of the class, panting heavily. I'm 30 minutes late all thanks to Liam.I wish my life didn't have to involve him. A life without him would be so much better. I stood in front of the class thinking of the best possible excuse to give Imelda because I know there's no way I'm getting out of this easily. "You know what, fuck this!" I walked into the classroom and regretted my decision soon after when her predatory eyes landed on me. "I think I'm in the wrong class. I'll just take my leave," I smiled awkwardly, turning around to leave. "Where do you think you're going, Elowen?" She asked coldly, making me pause in my tracks and I gulped loudly. What the hell was I thinking walking into the class without a plan? There's no way I'm getting out of this now."You're 30 minutes late," she said, stating the obvious. I shut the door behind me,
