Naya’s POV
The moment I walked into the study, I froze. The room looked like a storm had torn through it. Books lay scattered across the floor, papers crumpled and abandoned, a chair knocked on its side. The heavy scent in the air made my stomach churn… stale, sharp, unmistakable. My eyes dropped. Used condoms littered the floor. Not even hidden. Just… discarded. Careless. Shameless. I stared at one near my boot, heat rising behind my eyes. “What an Alpha,” I muttered bitterly. “Morally rotten.” I bent down, pinched it between my fingers, and tossed it into the trash bag. My jaw clenched as I straightened. “Come on, Naya,” I told myself quietly. “It’s none of your business. Just clean and leave.” Besides, that was all I was here for. I moved on autopilot, gathering papers, straightening shelves, restoring order to a space that felt permanently corrupted. When everything was finally in place, I slipped on my gloves, grabbed my spray bottle, and began wiping down the massive desk. To steady myself, I hummed. A soft lullaby I didn’t remember learning. It just… lived in me. It always had. Like my body remembered comfort my mind couldn’t place. I was wiping the edge of the desk when… Smack. A sharp slap landed on my butt. I yelped and jumped forward, my heart slamming violently against my ribs. I turned sharply but lost my footing, panic flaring, but before I could hit the floor, a hand gripped around my waist pulling me back against a solid body. I froze. I didn’t need to look. It was Alpha Louise. His presence swallowed the room. His cigar scent invaded my lungs, heavy and suffocating. His hand stayed firm on my waist as if It belonged there. I raised my head slowly. His eyes were already on me. Then it dropped. Followed the line of my chest. I could see lust flash in his eyes. “What was he looking at..?” I thought to myself before my eyes followed his trail. One button on my uniform had come undone. Just enough for him to see the top of my boobs His lips curled. He whistled softly. “Damn,” he murmured. “That view… now I’m curious to know what’s hidden beneath those layers of clothes..” My stomach twisted violently. “Alpha,” I whispered, voice trembling. “Please… let go.” His grip tightened. I tried to step away. But my hip hit the desk. No more space. He smiled. “Nowhere to run today..,” he said softly. Panic surged through me. “Alpha…” I tried again, swallowing hard. The sound of the title seemed to delight him. He threw his head back with a moan. “Oh fuck… Say it again,” he said. “You know I’ve always imagined you moaning my name while I pound that fucking ass of yours” Fear and panic crawled up my spine at the same time. “Please, Alpha” I begged. “If the Luna sees us like this… she’ll kill me.” His fingers lifted my chin, forcing me to meet his eyes. “She won’t touch you,” he said calmly. “Not if you’re under my protection.” My chest heaved. “I can give you everything you’ve ever wanted” he continued. “A better life. Freedom. Comfort. You won’t scrub floors ever again. All I want is this banging body of yours.” His gaze roamed over me, heavy and consuming. “So,” he asked, lips curling. “What do you say.., Will you be my mistress?” My entire body shook. “No, please” I whispered. His expression changed. Just like that. I tried to pull away. He lunged forward. I panicked and drove my knee into his nuts, desperation lending me strength. He roared. Letting me go as his hands to clutch his nuts. I took the initiative and bolted. But he was faster. Pain exploded across my scalp before I could reach the knob as he grabbed my hair and yanked me back. “Fucking..wrong..choice,” he snarled. The slap came fast. White-hot pain cracked across my face as I hit the floor hard. “How dare you!!.. What the fuck makes you think you have a choice in this pack?” he bellowed his hand slashing across my face a second time. I cried out, crawling backward, tears blinding me. “Please!” I sobbed. “Please Alpha… stop!” He dragged me up by my hair. “Do you know how many women In Mystic Falls and beyond that would kill for me to fuck them?” he raged. “And you fucking tell me no?” His hand closed around my throat. And air vanished. I clawed at his wrist, panic flooding my body as my vision blurred. “Al…ph…a…Pl…ease…!” I begged as my strength began to fail me. I was dying. Is this how it ends for me? Then the door cracked open and… “Alpha…!” He froze Then his grip loosened. I collapsed to the floor, gasping violently as air burned back into my lungs. The next thing I hear is a loud growl before the door slamming shut seconds later… “Are you okay?” The voice asked urgently. I looked to see Beta Nathan. But I couldn’t answer. I couldn’t breathe. “Hang in there, I’ve got you…” he pleaded before his strong and careful arms lifted me bridal style as he rushed me out of the study. He sprinted all the way to the Slaves quarters on the west wing of the pack house. Nathan paced as the doctor examined me, his face tight with worry. When my breathing finally steadied, I reached out and caught his hand as he passed. “Thank you Beta,” I whispered. He stopped. “Shhh.. you shouldn’t be speaking” he said gently. “Beta,” I urged. “I am fine, you have to return to the Alpha’s side… I don’t want him punishing you because of me.” “Wait.. what? No way.. I need to…” He argued but I cut him off “Beta, please… I am fine, I promise” I assured him. Reluctantly, he nods and leaves. The doctor finally straightened, returning her stethoscope to her neck “You’re fortunate,” she said. “The claw marks are just superficial, there’s no internal injuries with the prescribed medication the pains and scar should disappear in a couple of weeks…” Relief washed through me. “Also,” she added softly, “you’re quite lucky that no harm came to your pup. You are both in good health.” The word hit me like a blow. “P… pup?” I croaked, trying to sit up. She pressed me back gently. “Don’t move. You and your pup enough rest, I’d advice against any strenuous activity for the mean time” “What pup?” I whispered, panic rising. She looked at me with concern. “You… you didn’t know?” My heart thundered. “You’re pregnant,” she said. “From the look of things, you’re six weeks along.” The world tilted. “I’m What??” I screamed. “H…How…? But… but I’m still a virgin!”Naya’s POVI stopped just outside my bedroom door, my hand resting on the handle as Nikolas’s words continued to echo in my mind.Never.The elders wanted Zane to negotiate with Valkyra and Katherine. The very thought made my blood boil.I had barely gathered my thoughts when the sound of another door opening made me pause. Instinctively, I turned my head toward the hallway.Zane stepped out of his room.I blinked in surprise. He looked… composed.Gone was the feverish man curled up in the dark corner of his destroyed room. His hair was still slightly messy from sleep, and there was a lingering exhaustion around his eyes, but his posture was straight and controlled, his expression carefully blank. How was he awake already? It hadn’t even been an hour since I’d left him sleeping.Frowning, I walked toward him.“Why are you up already?” I asked as I stopped in front of him.He looked down at me, and for a brief moment, something softened in his gaze before he answered, “I had a weird dr
Naya’s POVNikolas didn’t even look convinced when I asked him where the elders were.“The council hall,” he said after a beat, like he already regretted answering.“Take me there,” I said immediately. His brows pulled together. “Shouldn’t we tell Zane first? He just.. he just slept. He needs rest after..”“No.” The word came out sharper than I intended, but I didn’t soften it. “He shouldn’t be disturbed. Not for this.”Nikolas hesitated long enough for me to see the war in his eyes. Loyalty to Zane on one side. Something else, maybe instinct, maybe respect for me.. on the other. Finally, he exhaled.“Fine. But if this goes wrong..”“It already is going wrong,” I cut in, and stepped past him.The corridors of the pack house felt longer than usual, like the walls themselves were aware of what was coming. Every step I took echoed in my chest louder than on the floor. By the time we reached the council hall doors, my pulse had settled into something steady. Controlled. Dangerous.Nikolas
Naya’s POVI stopped short in front of Zane’s door. For a second, I considered turning back.My hand hovered over the handle as doubt crept into my chest. Maybe this wasn’t a good idea. Maybe he needed space. Maybe after everything that had happened, I was the last person he wanted to see. But when I looked down the hallway toward my own room, I found Winnie standing at the doorway with a gentle smile on her face. She didn’t say anything. She simply nodded, as though she knew exactly what I was planning to do, and somehow, that small gesture became the strength I needed.Without allowing myself another chance to retreat, I pushed the door open and stepped inside.I stopped in horror.Almighty Goddess.Zane’s room was trashed.Broken glass glittered across the floor near the fireplace, books lay scattered everywhere, the curtains had been half-ripped from their rods, and furniture sat crooked as though a storm had torn through the room. My gaze swept across the destruction before final
Naya’s POVThe room felt strangely quiet.Too quiet.I sat on the edge of the bed, staring at nothing while my thoughts chased each other in endless circles.Across from me, Nikolas sat comfortably in a chair with Arthur cradled securely in his arms. My son looked peaceful, completely unaware of the chaos that seemed determined to surround his life from the very moment he entered this world.A small smile touched my lips.Arthur.My beautiful boy. Then the smile faded.Because despite having my son close by, despite knowing he was safe, despite being back inside Moonveil…I couldn’t stop thinking about Zane. The thought alone frustrated me.I had spent weeks trying to convince myself to stay away from him.Trying to bury my feelings.Trying to remember everything I had learned.Everything I had discovered about our both families.Yet somehow… My heart still worried for him. With an irritated sigh, I pushed myself off the bed and began pacing. One end of the room then back, I repeated
Zane’s POVThe moment the guard said it..“She took High Priest Frostveil’s body…”The words didn’t just land, it struck hardFor a second… everything inside me went still. Then everything hit at once. From the implications to the insult and then the message. My jaw clenched so tight it hurt. This wasn’t just theft, nor was it just defiance, this was war.Because without the High Priest’s body… There would be no burial, no sacred rites, no transition, not even a new High Priest could be seated.Moonveil would be left vulnerable, spiritually, politically… completely exposed. And worse..They had done it inside my own territory, inside my pack and under my watch. My guards… slaughtered. My authority… mocked. My reign… challenged.A slow, dangerous breath left my lungs. No one had ever dared something like this. Not while I ruled. And lived to tell the tale.Valkyra…Katherine…They hadn’t just crossed a line. They had burned it to the ground. But even then… Something didn’t sit right.Be
Zane’s POV“What’s the meaning of this?”My voice came out sharp, controlled but the anger beneath it was anything but.Elder Fenrir stood directly in front of me, unmoving, his aged eyes locked onto mine like he had been waiting for this moment. And yet… He said nothing. Not a single word. That silence alone was enough to set something off inside me.Before I could press further…“The court room. Now, Alpha.”The voice cut in from the side.Elder Silas.I turned slowly toward him, my jaw tightening.“No… let’s…”“You will come with us.”His tone wasn’t loud. But it carried authority. The kind that challenged mine.“You might be the Alpha,” Silas continued, stepping forward slightly, his staff hitting the ground with a dull echo, “but we are the Elders of Moonveil… the keepers of its laws… and the guardians of its sacred ways.”A pause. His eyes hardened.“We can sanction the Alpha… and nothing would happen.”The words hung in the air like a threat wrapped in tradition. For a second…
Naya’s POV The steam from my shower still lingered in the room when I stepped out, wrapping a towel tightly around my body. My hair dripped down my back in dark strands, water trailing slowly over my shoulders. For a moment, everything felt calm. Quiet. Like maybe I could pretend the duel wasn’
Zane’s POV Valkyra looked pleased with herself. That smug, satisfied curve of her lips as the chamber buzzed around her made something dark coil in my chest. She thought she had already won. I didn’t bother addressing her. Not now. Not when Naya had just volunteered herself for slaughter. Wi
Zane’s POVI had been restless since dawn. Not the normal kind of restless that came with being Alpha. This was different. It was as if I could feel something was about to go very wrong. My wolf had paced inside me all morning, unsettled, growling without reason. And walking into this council court
Naya’s POVThe moment he turned and headed for me..I reached for his hand.My fingers stretched forward. But I missed his hand by inches.Just inches. And he dashed past me.But that tiny distance felt like a canyon opening inside my chest. It felt like something ripped.Like something I didn’t ev
