Kane's POV

For once, I know when the vampire will show up. He gave me an exact time, and Zael tends to be punctual. Two minutes before he returns, I send everyone away and walk into the garden to wait for him.

Willow’s angry with me, but under all the superficial crap, I can also feel a deep joy mixed in with a good helping of sorrow. She didn’t want to leave Adare, but I had no other choice. We have the perfect opportunity to capture the elusive Lord Milner, and I can’t do it without her by my side.
