Chapter Thirty-Seven

I stood in the doorway and watched him, mulling over my thoughts and contemplating just walking away, back to the bedroom and going to bed early. But I slept for a large part of the afternoon and I wasn’t even remotely tired. I sighed and made my way into the room and sat in a chair on the other side of his desk. He smiled at me and watched me with his warm honey eyes as I settled in the chair, the stubble on his jaw longer and darker. It still threw me that he didn’t resemble his father at all. It would be easier if he did.

“What are you working on?” I inquired as I looked over the papers on his desk.

“It’s the report from Anders. The scouts being back is worrisome. And the fact they’re working with a vampire? It just doesn’t sit well with me. They have to be after something.” He sighed and ran a hand over his face, scratching the stubble at his jaw. I chewed the inside of my cheek in thought before responding. Had to get him off this line of investigation

I know this is a very late post, but I'm totally on Team Silas even though I have a feeling he will lose greatly when Kara rejects him. he is nothing but Class & a Gentleman. sure, possessive some, but he's an alpha wolf who found a mate..... almost don't want to know what happens to him.....
