17. Combat Class

That morning, I woke up with mixed feelings—excited because I was going to see Zach today, but also confused because I wasn't sure how I really felt. I noticed that my roommates looked glum, even though it was a bright, sunny day.

Aggy, in particular, looked worried. "Combat class is today. By the moon goddess, I hate that class!"

Combat was mandatory for all students, as far as I knew. It focused on self-defense, not intimidation. After all, there were tons of rogue wolves out there who posed a real threat.

Combat training was even more intense for future Alpha Academy pack leaders. Male students couldn't skip it and had to get good grades; otherwise, they'd have difficulty getting into any Alpha Academy.

After changing into our gym clothes, we left the Sigma dorm and walked down the hall. I could feel my roommates' tense energy. All three of them looked completely unenthusiastic.

How bad could combat class be?
