Dante’s POV

“No, not like that,” I corrected Amy gently. “You pressed the wrong key.”

My daughter. The thought still amazed me every time. She was so small, so mischievous, and so very mine. It was hard to believe that this little bundle of curls and giggles was the child Scarlet and I had made together. She was determined to test my patience, too, intentionally pressing the wrong keys on the piano and then looking up at me with her big, shining violet eyes.

Amy’s eyes were a brilliant amethyst, just like Scarlet had said when she named her. Whenever she got up to mischief, her eyes would crinkle into perfect little crescents.

“Yes, now that’s correct,” I said, guiding her fingers gently. She played the melody flawlessly this time, her little fingers dancing over the keys like a pro. When she finished, she turned to me with eyes wide and proud, waiting for my approval.

I kissed her cheek and said, “Well done, my little Lion. Well done.”
