I restrained my panic. Even though I could tell by the way he looked at me, that he sensed something, I was afraid that if I showed it to him, it would confirm his doubts.

"You..." he began with a puzzled and intimidating tone and I gave him a nervous glance gulping down my saliva.

Immediately, a lot of possibilities entered my mind. I was not in the right frame of mind to flee, right now. If he discovered something, how would I respond? I can't even escape from him.

"Is that painful?" he added and smacked me back to reality.

He was asking about what...? I followed his gaze, the wound...!!

"I would have to check it, you do not move, okay?" Saying so, he gazed at the wound.

I briefly believed that my mind was buzzing again, and I questioned whether my ears were still functioning.
