MIDNIGHT
"Come on. We have to take our pup and run as fast as we can," he spoke in a hurry.
"But, how can I run? She is so little," she had tears in her eyes.
"We have to. Or else they will kill us," he spoke in a voice that instilled fear.
"But running like cowards? Is that why we're here?" She questioned.
She had never learnt to run away from her problems and enemies. She was known to give a fight. And why wouldn't she, she was a luna after all.
"No way. But we have to think about the little life that you have held in your arms. We can't end her life at this moment when it just began," he argued.
She looked at the little life she was holding and tears escaped her eyes. She had planned so much for this little pup. Both of them had planned a grand celebration with their entire pack when she would be brought into this world, but destiny is cruel sometimes.
The entire pack was killed, and the alpha and luna had no other option than to run to save the only pup they had just given birth to.
"No matter how much we run. They will sniff us and kill us," she cried out.
Once the strongest luna was now just a helpless mother.
"I know," he said in a sad tone and sat beside her.
She looked at him, confused at his words and not knowing what to say.
"I know they will kill us, and I know we can't escape our death unless we surrender to them and become their slaves," he spoke in a broken tone.
"No. We can't surrender. We're meant to rule. If we lose, we have to die a brave death," she argued.
She couldn't bear the thought of being someone's slave. She was treated like a princess when she was young, and when she met her mate, he treated her like a queen. There was no way she could be a slave.
But fighting till the very last drop of her blood wasn't an option for her at this moment, because if she did that, she knew, her child would lose the battle of life and she had to bid adieu to that innocent soul and she wanted the best for her kid.
She gave a thought about the entire situation, and then, something unexpected kicked into her mind.
"What if we surrender? Even if we are their slaves, we can make sure our pup is alive," she pitched in.
He chuckled. That chuckle felt like a taunt to her and she couldn't believe how he behaved.
"What?" She questioned.
"They want us as their slaves. Do you really think they would keep our heir alive? Wouldn't they fear what if she takes over them and rule them in near future?" His words made her wonder.
"And even if they leave her alone. Just look at her. An innocent pup, she would have to spend her entire life in the shackles of slavery. She would be tortured, humiliated and..."
He couldn't even complete her statement but she understood what she meant.
"Death would be better than that," she muttered in a low tone.
"But I don't want her to die. That's why I have thought about something," he muttered.
She looked at him, surprised. She thought about his plans.
"What?" She questioned.
"It's something, that would for sure give her a good life, but we might not be there to witness it," he replied in a low tone.
She tapped his shoulders and smiled at him.
"We can do anything for our pup," she muttered.
"Anything," he smiled.
And then, they got up from there and rushed out of the hiding spot. They were running through the jungle at midnight. The darkness made a failed attempt to hamper their vision, and the trees and fallen leaves tried their best to stop them, but they knew their motive was noble and that's why no one could even dare to stop them at any cost.
And then, they reached the end of the jungle, a deserted area. But the place wasn't as deserted as they thought it to be.
As they reached there, they panted and looked around.
"Amara!" He shouted at the top of his voice.
And all of a sudden, an old castle came into existence at that time. It was such a scene that it looked like a mirage, but it wasn't. The door of the castle opened and he looked at his luna.
She was confused, but he nodded at her with a smile and then, they entered into that castle. The castle had rustic and royal vibes. And when they got into the main hall, they were surrounded by five women.
She got scared, and she held her pup tightly, praying for her safety. While he smiled looking at them.
"This is Amara, and her sisters," he introduced all of them to her.
She uncomfortably smiled as Amara walked towards them.
"Your alpha had saved our lives once, and then, I had promised him to do anything that he would ask in return," Amara told her.
"They are the witches," he spoke.
She was confused. She didn't know anything that was going on.
"Amara. We are here to ask you for a favour," he spoke in a low tone.
"What kind of favour?" Amara questioned.
He looked at his pup and took a deep breath before turning towards Amara.
"I want you to suppress her wolf side permanently," he pitched in.
The moment she heard his demand, she was shocked. She looked at her mate with plenty of questions in her eyes while she knew the answer to none.
"What? Why?" Amara questioned.
"If I answer this, I would be putting your life in danger as well, and I can't do that. But, all you need to know, if you suppress her wolf's side, she would lead a happy life and survive," he replied in a low tone.
"Well, we can suppress it, but not permanently. Every magic has its loophole." one of Amara's sisters spoke.
"Loophole?" He asked, looking at them.
"Yes," Amara spoke.
"What kind of loophole?" She questioned.
"We can suppress her wolf side only till the time she finds her mate and falls in love with him. If the moon Goddess plays its game and bounds her permanently with her mate and she falls in love, the magic will vanish and her wolf side would reappear. And then, she will know her fate," Amara explained.
The couple went quiet for a while. They knew, if the danger they're facing right now, if anyone gets to know that one from their pack is still alive, they would go for her, and eventually kill her. But then, she would have her mate.
"A mate is bound to protect her, so if she finds a mate, he will protect her at any cost. So we're ready to do this," he spoke in a confident voice.
She looked at him, she was sceptical about all of this, but to keep her pup safe, she could do this, and then, she handed over her baby to Amara.
"Good! I would need blood from both of you to cast the spell," Amara spoke as she kept the pup on a table.
And then, they prepare for the ritual. They draw circular art all around the pup and started to chant the spells. The five witches sat surrounding the baby, while the mates stood and the corner and witnessed it all.
Amara was holding a bowl that contained the blood of the pup's parents, and they continued chanting. The ritual went on for an hour, and as it went on, the room was lit in blue, but after an hour, there was suddenly complete darkness.
The couple looked around in fear, but then, a few candles were lit automatically and then Amara walked towards them with the baby in her arms.
"The ritual is done, now take her to a safe place," she spoke while handing over the baby to the mother.
As she held her baby, she sobbed. She knew she had to part ways with her child and that made her cry.
"We have to leave," he spoke in a soft tone as he held his mate's shoulders.
She looked at him and nodded.
They shared a smile with the witches and walked out of the place.
As they walked out, Amara felt weird energy all around the castle. She looked at her sisters, and they looked equally worried.
"Something went wrong with the spell," she muttered.
As they walked, they went towards the end of the jungle where the civilisations existed. The night was about to end now, and they knew, someone would see them now.
And that's why she placed her baby near the dustbin and sobbed.
"I am sorry, my love. I have to do this," she cried out.
He looked at his baby with teary eyes, but he knew he had to be strong, so he pretended that this wasn't affecting him.
"Always remember, Mumma loves you a lot," she sobbed as she kissed her baby for one last time.
"We have to leave or else they would reach out to us anytime. And after all this, we can't put her in danger," he spoke as he held her shoulders.
She nodded and got up. She gave her baby the last look and turned around to leave.
As they walked for a hundred metres, they were surrounded by the ones they were fearing. There were more than twenty wolves, looking at them angrily.
The mates looked at each other and gulped. And within minutes, their wolf sides dominated them and they turned into werewolves, ready for a fight that was meant to be lost to them.
And without wasting any other moment, the wolves attacked them.
The mates fought till their last breath, but two wolves over twenty could never win and in the end, they killed them brutally. The couple lost their life just like that.
As the war was over, one of the wolves walked towards the dustbin suspecting something. As he reached there, he saw a baby crying.
He considered him to be the heir of the mates and prepared himself to kill the baby, but as he sniffed it, he couldn't find any scent that would prove her a wolf. The wolf looked around and then left with the rest of their members, considering her a human baby that has been abandoned.
Six Months Later MAYA "It's Kaiser's birthday, Paul. I want everything to be perfect," I chirped as I checked the decorations. "It will be, Maya," he responded. It's been months since we are married and we're living a peaceful life. Everything is perfect between us and that made me happier. Kaiser made me the alpha, and to my surprise, everyone in the pack happily accepted my position. Everyone began to love me, to accept me as their own and it made my heart full with joy. I now had a family of my own, and what more I would need. The pack thrived and we just lived happily in love and pleasure. I walked into my room, to see if Kaiser is ready. "Birthday boy, are you ready? We're getting late for the party," I muttered. And then, Kaiser turned around. I looked at him, and I was lost in him. He looked extremely handsome, and I felt like I would fall for him once again. "What happened?" He teased me. "You look handsome," I winked. "Oh really," he held my hand and pulled me clo
KAISER I witnessed the man I thought to be my mentor die in front of my eyes. But his death was well deserved, he fed the entire pack lies and just because we considered him as our mentor, we believed every word that he had to say. After Marshall was dead, I walked towards Dad. I tapped his shoulders. Maya stayed there, maybe she wanted me to decide the optimal punishment for Dad. I nodded at her, assuring her that I would not disappoint her. "I am sorry, son. I am so sorry," he cried, holding my hands. "I trusted the wrong person. I believed him, and did whatever he said," he sobbed. "You knew he was wrong, yet you helped him. That's your mistake, dad," I muttered. He held my hand tightly and was crying. "From the beginning, you know you were wrong. I couldn't respect you because of this, Dad," I spoke. I helped him stand up and looked at him. He was crying, and I did feel sympathy for him, but I had to decide on an optimal punishment for him as the king. "For the first tim
REGINA "One bite. And your alpha dies a brutal death," I howled unwillingly. After that, I placed my teeth right on Kaiser's neck. I had to bite him lightly so that he doesn't die but the wound should look serious. I cursed myself, because whatever I did, it included playing with Kaiser's life, and it was torturous for me. I was about to bite him when I heard a voice. "STOP!" It was Thomas. I looked at him. "Don't kill him. I... I surrender. I will confess everything that we did. Just don't kill him," he begged. I stopped. This was the plan, to make them confess. It was all our plan. The war, the attack on Kaiser, everything, so that Thomas confesses his crimes to his people. And now, he will. "Great! But you aren't going to confess here," I growled. I had to make sure everyone in the pack knew about his deeds. No matter how strong I had the urge to kill him, I wanted the pack to decide his punishment, because that would be much more deserved by him."Then... Then?" He asked.
THOMASAfter warning all of us, Kaiser went straight to his room, leaving me and Marshall alone.I rushed to Marshall."Have you gone nuts? Why did you mention the rogues in front of Kaiser? He would never allow them," I scoffed."Yes. But the only way we can win this war is by including the rogues," Marshall answered."But how? Whichever pack she belongs to, she is a newly transitioned wolf. She is not going to have so many powers that she can fight a hundred and fifty wolves. I do not want to kill her," I argued.Marshall looked at me."You still don't want to kill her? Thomas, have you gone crazy? She waged a war against us, which means she very well knows whatever we did to her pack. If we don't kill her, she would kill us," he argued."So let her kill us. It's been so long. I am tired of this life. Let my son live and love the woman. She is his mate. For god's sake, make this little sacrifice," I retorted."He is your son. Not mine. And I am not a fool, who will die on a battlefi
PAUL"What? Are you joking?"I was shocked by Kaiser's answer. Maya is waging a war against us? Why would she want to do that? Didn't she want to become a part of our pack? What's happening?"I wish I could joke," I heard Kaiser's reply in a devastated tone.I looked at Kaiser, he looked torn between his love and his duty. I had never seen him like that ever."But... But her... Her fighting against... Against us... It... It will make her a rogue," Thomas spoke.I looked at Thomas, and his reaction surprised me. He was sweating and looked nervous as if he was trying to hide something."It won't. I and Maya, we aren't married by now," Kaiser responded."But why? Why would she want to wage a war? Didn't she want to be included in our pack till earlier this day?" I asked Kaiser.I wasn't being able to figure out what was happening. All of a sudden, so much chaos, it was confusing to me."She still wants to be included in her pack, but before that, she wants to fulfil the duty of being an
MAYAMaybe whatever I was saying to Kaiser made no sense. Maybe me going against him wasn't a good idea. Maybe all of this, it's for nothing. But in all those maybes, there were a certain things I was sure about. My parents and my people were killed. I couldn't live with it. I couldn't marry Kaiser and dream of having a happy family with the killers of my parents. I had to fulfil my duties as a daughter. I would do that at any cost, and if that meant losing Kaiser, maybe I was ready for it."Maya! You will be going against me. I have to protect my people," he spoke in a shattered tone.I walked towards him. I knew this was hurting him a lot, and I would be lying if I said it wasn't hurting me as well.I cupped his face and my expression softened immediately. "I know this is tough, and I am sorry, baby. But, I have no other option," I spoke in the softest tone possible. After that, I pressed my lips against her, kissing her passionately. He kissed me back, with the same passion and
