MAYA

Maybe whatever I was saying to Kaiser made no sense. Maybe me going against him wasn't a good idea. Maybe all of this, it's for nothing. But in all those maybes, there were a certain things I was sure about.

My parents and my people were killed.

I couldn't live with it. I couldn't marry Kaiser and dream of having a happy family with the killers of my parents. I had to fulfil my duties as a daughter.

I would do that at any cost, and if that meant losing Kaiser, maybe I was ready for it.

"Maya! You will be going against me. I have to protect my people," he spoke in a shattered tone.

I walked towards him. I knew this was hurting him a lot, and I would be lying if I said it wasn't hurting me as well.

I cupped his face and my expression softened immediately.

"I know this is tough, and I am sorry, baby. But, I have no other option," I spoke in the softest tone possible.

After that, I pressed my lips against her, kissing her passionately.
