8 - I Love You, Edgar!
The mean girl gang and some other pack members cheered in the victory for Curtis. I was breathing heavily, barely able to catch my breath. The pain in my head had disappeared as fast as it had come so that was a relief at least. But still, my entire body was aching. I felt weak, and a little shaky.
Dylan and Anna had scowls on their faces, but the moment I stepped up on the hill, both of them ran to me with some pack members who were cheering for me.
“You were about to win! You almost made Curtis a loser, Light! I never knew that you are so great at running!” one of the boys cheered, slapping my shoulder.
“For sure. You are the real winner today!”
Their words brought a grin to my face.
