Theodore's Pov

The last battle I had was where the problem of my illness started. At least that was the only reasonable explanation I could give myself. Because how could I..a strong Alpha werewolf not heal from the attack of another Alpha.

The battle was tough but I was able to defend my Betas and get away from those Alphas.

They were quite strong and had been able to give me serious injuries but that was it.

I had healed from all the attacks. My body was smooth but the problem according to the beta Healers was that I had either an internal injury or I had been infected.

“Call Evelyn..maybe only she can save me…I can't die now a lot is at stake” I finally gave in after several thoughts and persistence from Diego, other beta and Elders.

“Finally you are thinking straight” Diego said and dialed her number immediately while I was lost in the thought of the night I made a decision that hurt her.

The night the moon stood up high in the brightest, shining and illuminating the clouds in the forest. The whole pack of the Shadow Moon whirled all around, all of them in their human form.

It was the night of the ceremony. The night the Moon goddess was going to bless the Alpha with a Luna. This was going to make their pack stronger. I walked out of the mansion.

I walked out of the mansion with two Betas, Diego and Allison, by my side. Behind them, the Gamma followed closely, every step measured and respectful.

I moved forward and stood tall, my presence radiating authority, my aura commanding silence. My eyes burned with a glowing red luminance, a mark of leadership and power.

Climbing onto a high rock, I prepared for what was to come choosing my fate mate. At once, the gathering was still. Not a sound stirred in the forest. It was time for the Moon Goddess to speak.

Evelyn had been chosen as my fated mate, an Omega who had appeared in the pack carrying many complicated burdens. To most, she was nothing more than an outcast. But I knew her past. I knew the truth few others didn't know or speak of.

The Moon Goddess has chosen us as my fitted mates, but I knew no matter how much I wanted it, it could not be.

I stepped forward, seeing her face, smiling in joy, as she kept on walking. Everyone was shocked, but we were still happy at some point. We could not express any other emotion.

And then I took a step forward and spoke.

"I, Alpha Theodore, leader of the Shadow Moon Pack, reject you, Evelyn, as my mate. I will never accept you. I do not accept you and I will never accept you. Leave. Now."

"What?" I heard her speak, but before any more words could come out of my mouth, I turned around and I left.

That was the last time I saw her around the mansion on this part of the territory.

“Theo..Theo” Diego called and I snapped back to reality, slowly opening my eyes.

"What did she say?" I asked him.

"It seems you are not going to die, my friend. She agreed," Diego said with a smile.

‘She agreed?’

I thought in my mind. I wasn't expecting much, after all I had done to her. Unknowingly it was for her protection. I thought she would have bore deep hatred for me.

"She doesn't hate me anymore?" I asked, confused.

"Oh, she does hate you, but I guess she doesn't want you dead for her time's sake, I guess," Diego said then. He paused and looked at Theo though.

"If only she knew the full story…"

"Don't," I managed to say.

"Yeah, yeah, I know. I will leave now to bring her. Yeah, hang in there."

He slightly patted my arm as I was lying down, and then he left.

I closed my eyes again and slept out for what felt like hours, minutes. I wasn't sure, but I needed to drink. That was the only way I could suppress the pain inside as my chest was burning, starting from my hand.

I rolled up the sleeve and saw the black vein spreading out. In my chest that was left open as I was unbuttoned in a t-shirt, the black vein was spreading also.

I slowly stood up, enduring the pain and walking to a table where a bottle of alcohol was. Then I poured a drink of alcohol. My eyes sight were already becoming blurry.

Then at that moment when I wanted to take the cup, my leg vibrated and felt weak. My stomach made the sound and the next minute I vomited once again and crashed onto the ground that the cup I kept on the table broke and it caused a noise that alerted my sister who I saw in a blur sight.

Evelyn's POV

I am still outside the mansion. When someone rushed out and went to meet Diego,

"What was going on, Tina?"

Diego moved closer and after,

"It's Theo,he.. he's in a critical condition," she said. "He just vomited another set of blood."

Then Diego turned to me and said, "Let's go."

I started running behind Diego into the mansion. I passed from the living room to the passage, then I got to his room, which was quite huge, and I could see him lying down, looking pale.

My heart was beating fast as I slowly approached him. Then I felt my wolf move. The pull was there. It was strong.

Stronger than ever, I had thought that after a long time of staying away from him, the pull would not be there, but I was wrong.

I was intoxicated by his scent and I was pulled to him. My wolf could feel the bond within the two of us. It was weak, but it was still there.

And that was when he turned and our eyes met.

For the first time in years, our bond snapped awake and I could feel it despite how I denied it.

"Mate." My wolf called out

Evelyn Pov I rubbed my temples, trying to block out the memory of that day. The rejection, the humiliation, the whispers behind my back “rejected mate,” they’d said. The Alpha of the Shadow Moon Pack, Theodore Wales, had shattered me in front of everyone. 'Now that he was in trouble he dares ask from my help to heal him and drag me back to the world left and abandoned ' I leaned back against the cold wall outside the clinic, trying to catch my breath. My hands trembled slightly not from fear, but from the rush of anger, old wounds reopening, and the weight of the life I had built on the line. “He said I should call you, or I’m afraid he would die.” Diego word had hit me so hard the it made me squeeze my fist when I thought about it Hearing this made my heart ache. 'He asked to call me after all these years? Because he was dying' I was pissed and very angry. I was going to get dragged back again to that life. Was I going to let him do this to me?' But yet my foolish heart ached

Theodore’s PovThree years have passed so far and on this day there was a meeting with the Elders and the Top Strong werewolves in the pack which had gone on for hours... far too long that I had planned.Werewolves in the pack voices were rising and falling as they were arguing about the subject of the alliance I was planning. The Alliance of my pack and the Crimson Blood Pack. The idea was simple enough: a peaceful treaty, dividing the territory so there would be no more bloodshed between us.But the Elders kept on disagreeing claiming they had pride to keep. Pride that was making more and more people die whenever they clashed.I stayed quiet at first. Listening. Watching. Letting them talk themselves in circles. But when it seemed the final agreement was finally close, I stood, feeling the weight of every eye on me.“Soon, I will meet with the Alpha of the Crimson Blood Pack myself,” I said. My voice carried, calm but sharp. “We will sign this treaty in person. Our packs will..”The

My life is on the line now.”I looked at the bright moon holding the necklace that my mother had given me, I prayed nonstop, whispering over and over. Begging the Moon Goddess felt like the only thing I had left. My life had never gone in a smooth direction. Every step had been a fight. But if I became the Lunar of the Alpha Pack, things would change. No one could look down on me again. No one could call me the weakest Omega in Shadow Moon Pack. No one could treat me like an outcast.“Come on, let’s go. It’s almost time!” Stella’s voice broke into my thoughts as she just entered my room“Hold on,” I muttered. “I’m still praying.” I closed my eyes with my hands locked on each other and tightening in desperation as if the more I squeezed the more I had chances of getting my wish. The necklace covered around my p
