Chapter 01

My twin Kaius was useless.

This was the fourth time he made his team lose the hockey game.

I shook my head in disgust.

I should be the one there, not him.

“Look at him, Dad, disgracing the entire family. That he’s good for nothing.”

“Kaiya, words, that’s your brother.” Mom chided and I rolled my eyes. “Kaius is doing his best, he’s so sweet.”

“Unbelievable.” I mouthed. No matter what Kaius does, she always defends him like it was nothing, Kaius could never do anything wrong in her eyes.

The match ended in defeat, and I was pissed because we lost.

“I would have been better,” I muttered under my breath as I watched him limp out after the end of the match with his best friend Cameron Vaughan, Kaius had his arms around Cameron’s neck, and they walked tittering together.

I felt the urge to squeeze them.

I have known Cameron since I was six, it was around that same age he was adopted by the Gamma and his wife, Gamma Vaughan had brought him to the Pack house, introduced him to my father who was the Alpha of the Pack, from that day, he became quite close with us, and our childhood friend, but when we became teenagers, he drifted from me to Kaius, and they never involved me in any of their games.

Cameron grew taller than Kaius, tall, lanky, curly golden brown hair, blue eyes, pink thin lips and his athletic body.

He looked handsome each time I got to see him, I hated that I had to attend a different college from them, while Kaius had all the fun, I had to stick with princess duties.

I scoffed and tore my gaze away from them.

“I saw you today at the match, I was incredible wasn’t I?” Kaius chuckled, taking a seat on my bed, I was in front of the desk in my room working on an assignment.

“You’ve been playing hockey since 7th grade, and now you’re in college, you've made your team lose every time. I don’t know why Dad chose to keep you there.” I twirled in my seat. “…I thought you liked it.”

He shrugged. “I just enjoy playing it.”

I shook my head at him. “You’re worthless.”

“Well, that’s not why I’m here, guess what?" He stood up from my bed and placed his hand over my shoulder. His head was lowered to my ear.

I gave him a side eye. “What?” I mouthed.

“Remember the music contest?”

“I passed the first round, and I got accepted, I will be leaving for it, it’s going to take up to two months.” He smirked at me, took his hand away from my shoulder with a proud smile on his face.

“Does Dad know?”

“He doesn’t have to…”

“He wants you to focus on hockey.”

“But I want to focus on something else, Cameron is good at hockey, I’m good too but you know music has always been my passion. Elizabeth.”

I groaned when he called my middle name, and threw my keyboard at him, he ducked with a short chuckle.

“I want to go for this program, and I’ll be back, nobody has to know…”

“Does Cameron know?”

“I didn’t tell him because he could spill the truth to Dad, I don’t want that. So he won’t know that I’m gone, I told him I’m going to stay at home for a while, and I won’t contact him for the two months that I will be gone.”

“What about school?”

“I can do away for two months.”

“The next world competition is in two months.”

“I’ll be back before then but I’m not certain but I’ll try to be quick, and meet up. Kaiya,” He tried to plead with me with his eyes.

“They think you’re in school but you’re going for a music program, can your life get any worse?” I twirled in my seat, facing the computer again. He picked up my keyboard and placed it on the table.

“In case they ask about me, I trust you to come up with something,”

I shook my head and grabbed my keyboard, he threw his hands in the air, and moved backwards, till his back was at the window.

“I’m leaving.”

I nodded, and then he walked out the door, closing it gently behind him.

I focused on my computer but the thought hit me that he would be gone for two months, and I had a chance to be part of the hockey team if he went away.

I jerked up from my seat, pushing everything backwards.

I could take Kaius’s place in the game, I ran towards the mirror, we were identical twins, same brown eyes, brown hairs, freckles, mine is just a little bit more than his, small nose, but my lips are fuller, and the same height.

Fuck, he’s just an inch taller, but that all matters anyway.

Nobody is going to know about our scheme.

And I know the right person to have it done.

“…I didn’t expect you to be here, princess, not in my salon,” Samuel muttered behind my head, I was already seated and wanted him to get to work.

He was good with makeup, and one I could trust with my secrets, though he was older than me, three years wasn’t much of a big deal.

I stared at him through the mirror. “I know you can do this. Sam.”

His hair was dyed, and I think he did something with his eyebrows, and those polished nails.

He was so sassy.

“Please.”

“The Alpha is going to kill me if he finds out.”

“Remember when I won the game in 8th grade? It was I who played,”

“That’s not…”

“I’ve been practicing.” I spun around in my seat to face him. “…I joined the badminton club at school, and I know it’s not hockey,” I said that because I knew that was going to be his next words.

“The hockey team is the eagle team of our Pack, they represent us everywhere, and it’s not that easy.”

I pouted dejectedly.

“…but I trust you, princess.”

“And that’s why I’m going to transform your look completely to Kaius.”

I smiled brightly. “Thank you.”

I turned and faced the mirror, I felt his brush on my face, hiding some of my freckles, he cut some strands off my hair.

He made a wig, just like Kaius’s flattened hair, and I put them on, took off my earrings and necklace, glad Kaius had a piercing in his ears too.

“Do you have some of his clothes?”

“Some of his clothes are at home, I can easily get one and wear them.” I smiled, staring at my reflection in the mirror.

“I don’t know why Dad refused to create a team for girls, he just doesn’t believe that we could play better than they did.”

Sam dropped his scissors on the table, and he leaned close. “So you’re going to prove that to him?”

I looked into his eyes.

“Yes.”

“Then, don’t get caught.”

The bump on his neck moved as he swallowed.

“If you get caught, we won’t exact the Alpha’s wrath even if he’s your father.”

The reason I was going into the hockey team was to win, but when I reached Maxton College, it was Cameron Vaughan waving at me with a smile, the most sexy smile I have ever seen on his face.

Or maybe I was the one hallucinating about it, but Cameron was sinfully handsome.

The moment he narrowed his head at me, I had to check myself, I slapped my cheek for smiling so hard at him, and the pants.

Fuck.

How does my idiot brother even walk again?

Cameron jogged over to me, and I could feel my face heating up.

He stopped when he was inches away. “How is your ankle? Seeing you walking well, you must be fine.” That voice, sweet, manly, and completely impeccable.

Oh.

Kaius hurt his ankle in the last game.

“It’s fine…”

“Uh?

I cleared my throat and made my voice sound deeper. “It’s healed already, you don’t have to worry.”

“Whatever you say, Kaius.” He chuckled, and his hand went around my shoulder.

I felt my breath hang, I have never been this close to Cameron, but now I could smell him.

“Your roommate has been changed after the game, guess who you’re stuck with now?” He glanced at me with a lazy stare.

“Who?” I asked, and tried to push him away from me but his arms around me tightened.

“…Aimes Grevensor, the hockey captain.” He stood in front of me, his hand left my shoulders. “Your biggest hater.” His head leveled down to my eyes, he was staring intently into my brown eyes.

“But don’t worry you have me.”

I hiccuped at his words, while his lips stretched out in a smile. This wasn’t going to be as easy as I thought.
