Adeena's P.OV
Kalan appeared to be out of place these past two days, I haven't seen him fully either, just glimpses here and there as he's barely in sight. The entire house was surrounded by a heavy tension, I need to get out before it suffocates me.
I could literally feel the house's walls begging to be set free from all this tension, I don't know what's happening, I refuse to use my abilities and snoop around to find out. That would be invading in everyone's privacy, I wouldn't want any thinking they have no privacy with me around.
Feeling uncomfortable in my jeans, I rummaged through my closet to find one of my dresses I used to wear when I lived with my parents. I changed into it and felt relaxed immediately, the white silk hugged my body in the most
Adeena's P.O.V"Why are you up so early and have you seen Kalan?" Isaac asks upon walking into the kitchen.I don't bother to look at him, not with the way I'm feeling. I have been crying ever since I saw Kalan earlier, I haven't seen him either, I haven't slept and I refuse to fall asleep in this house with him."Have you guys seen Kalan?" Valerie asks, standing in the way of Collin.Collin and I haven't spoken either, there's nothing I have to say to say to him and he doesn't have anything to say. He's lived here for just a few days, you barely even know if he's here, then again, he's mostly on patrol, so I'd expect his absence."Do you guys
Kalan's P.O.VAll talking came to a halt once I stepped into the living room. I scanned the room carefully, seeing everyone including my Mom and excluding Adeena.I was here earlier looking for her but she was nowhere to be found, so I went out to find her but to no avail, she was gone again. I don't understand why she keeps disappearing without a trace.I'd walked in on my Mom talking about me and Sandy, she was belittling Adeena constantly without even knowing her background. She has always been like this, pushing me towards Sandy because her father was an Elder, I never expected her to talk about my mate in such an ill manner."Did you find her?" asked a concerned Isaac.
Adeena's P.O.VWhy did I think Kalan's mother would be gone by morning?.She was in fact, inside the kitchen at this current moment, by the stove doing who knows what. I walked in thinking it would be Isaac making breakfast but it wasn't.My usual bacon and eggs was replaced with something else, something I wasn't used to and definitely something I wouldn't try.I will tolerate her for as long as I need to, while trying my best not to slice her head off with a snap of my fingers."Hey" Kalan chimes behind me, wrapping his arms around me and kissing my cheek. "How do you feel?" he asks resting his chin on my shoulder.
Adeena's P.O.V"What're you doing?" I ask Lauren, seeing her with a couple of books open along with some papers. She was seated on floor, cross legged with her head propped up by her hands. I'm guessing it was past midnight, she was inside her room for the entire day, I haven't seen her at all yesterday."Oh" Lauren says in a bit of shock, "I have a test tomorrow, so I'm hitting the books" she fake cheers."Oh, may I ask what kind of test?" I ask confused, don't get me wrong, I still have little idea about what they do here."History and Geography" she replies passing me a piece of paper with a few others attached to it, I take it slowly to ins
Adeena's P.O.VAll I could hear was my heart, thudding against my chest as I tried to stay hidden behind a tree. Had I not followed my own mind and went out to see the pack, I wouldn't have gotten caught up in this mess. The man had shifted into a wolf right before my eyes and started to chase me, at first I stood there in shock before I really understood what was happening.Everyone seemed to mind their own business when he started to chase after me, how selfless of them. It's like they didn't even care that I could die if he catches up to me.I ran as far as I could then I went into the woods, not without getting caught by some thorns, ripping the sleeve of my hoodie, scratching my arm
Kalan's P.O.VI have been listening to my mother insulting Adeena for almost an hour, I don't know how she found out what happened but she did. All she's been telling me is to get rid of her, I try not to disrespect my Mom, but sometimes she doesn't know when to quit."I bet if she knew just who she was insulting, she would shut up" Isaac snorts."That's why I don't bother saying anything, let her dig her own grave and later she will be the one to lay in it" I respond watching as my Mom and Valerie started to argue about her choice of words and her ridiculous statements."I might have some bad news" Isaac says so casually, making me look at him with a raised eyebrow. "Yeah, our little prisoner died"
Adeena's P.O.V"Why is this place so full of life?" I ask Isaac once we arrived to the pack house in the Crescent Moon pack."No idea, honestly the Alpha is way more preferred here" he answers with a shrug.I take his answer with a nod, we arrived at the pack in just four hours, I was not expecting the place to be so full of life and laughter. Everyone we had driven by was overjoyed to see Kalan, even if they couldn't see inside the car as I was informed earlier. They were very happy to see him.The pack house was different from the Nexus pack, it was just in the pack, it blended in perfectly, except it was a lot bigger than most of the other houses. I've never seen a place so lively before.
Kalan's P.O.VThe rain continues to shower down, trapping us inside the house for just a few hours. I woke up to the light patters on the roof and didn't think much of it, then Adeena woken up and showers came down, literally just as she woke up it started raining harder. It made some sense, she woke up in a very irritated mood, she was meaner than usual. This morning I said she looked tired and she threw a pillow at me, with so much force I wasn't even able to dodge it, it's been two hours and I haven't spoken to her."Where's Adeena?" Isaac asks concerned, looking around the room.He came over earlier than expected for me to help with some papers, I didn't mind because I could use the distraction."Upstairs" I answer monotonously, leaving no room for anymore questions but he just had to ask me something else."Didn't you make her breakfast?" he asks seeing that the kitchen was cleaned."Oh, she's not hungry" I shrugged off. "She hasn't been feeling herself lately"."She's not pregn
