Chapter eight
POV Kristy
School goes by in a flash. After training, I decided to go visit my aunt in the clinic. My aunt is the pack's doctor and runs the clinic. I always dreamed of being a doctor. Even though I know that’s not going to happen, I still enjoy going to the clinic. My aunt lets me help with small things. Ever since I was a teenager I have been pulling thorns out of some of the wolves who fell into them. Mostly kids. When I wasn’t able to help I was in the clinic's library. I found it fascinating. Our body’s, both wolf and human. So many similarities yet so different.I walk into my aunt's office. She’s sitting at her desk doing some paperwork. We arrive at the big old tree. I shift back and put on some clothes Vicky carried for me before walking over to Axel, who is only wearing shorts. Last night another fighter of our pack died of his wounds. This means war. I have been up all night trying to figure out how we can fight these wolves. The funeral was over. Now the grieving really starts. The packhouse was filled with pack members. Inside and outside. Everyone was sharing memories they had. But not me. I wake up, feeling like I am hit by a bus. My vision is blurred, and I try to blink it away. Where the bloody hell am I. I try t get up but feel I am chained up against the floor, with heavy steel chains both my arms and legs are chained up on the ring on the floor. Leaving me with limited room to move. I try pulling the chains, but no luck there. I am still weak from the wolfsbane they injected me with. When I finally can see something, I realize I am in the cells, by the looks of the concrete wall and the steel door I can tell I am still on our territory. My great-grandfather made these cells. POV Axel. I rush to the pack's clinic with Kristy in my arms. I already mind-linked our pack's doctor. When we arrive at the clinic the doctor is ready for us waiting at the entrance with a gurney. I put her on the gurney quickly and the doctor and nurses rushed her to an emergency room."I already took out the bullet but she is not waking up.""We got it from here Alpha. We got her." The doctor tells me. I stand back and watch the doctor and nursers hook her up on an IV and examine her. "Please Alpha, go sit in the waiting room we got her. We will call you when needed."
