Chapter nine

We arrive at the big old tree. I shift back and put on some clothes Vicky carried for me before walking over to Axel, who is only wearing shorts. He grabs my face and pecks my lips.

“Hello gorgeous,” he says and looks me straight in my eyes.

“What is it with you and the word gorgeous”

“It meant nothing to me until I met you" I roll my eyes and walk over to the tree and sit down. Axel sits next to me and pulls me into his lap. I stare into his eyes and get lost in his sparkly green eyes for a minute. For a minute I forget all the bad things.

“How was your day," he asks and plays with my hair.

“My day was good until I had a huge blowout with my dad. He said my behaviour is unacceptable and that I embarrassed him. All I did was go to my aunt's clinic and read medical books in the library.”
