Solana's POV

Marcel pulled me into a hug the moment we entered our room, his whole body caging me, and I allowed myself to melt in his arms. I was lucky— happy that I didn't need to face this alone. I had support.

"You did so well, Wildcat. You showed them your claws."

"I wish I clawed on their faces instead." I scoffed, and he chuckled.

"The way you handled them is exactly what I meant when I said you had fire in you, and you will do so well when you put it to good use. You did today. And I am so proud of you."

I appreciated his belief and unwavering support for me. But I was still confused.

"I don't know what to do, Marcel. They are never going to accept me." I dragged my hand through my face, a part of me already feeling defeated. I know that there would be more resistance in the future, and I wonder if I could get them to support me in the end. "No matter what I say. No matter what I do. They don't even want to see me do anything."

Marcel cupped my chin and forced me to look up at

  • Alpha's regret: Omega's second chance   III-30: He's mine

Amanda's POVThe ride back to my pack was a struggle. A struggle through heavy breathing and tears. Back in the Crescent wolves pack house, I put on a strong front, not wanting them to see me break down. I was an Alpha. I would not let a bunch of people see me cry.Solana wanted to talk to me, but I couldn't face her. She even called me a number of times on my way until I switched my phone off.My mate.I wasn't truly looking forward to finding my mate. I grew up learning about how my father left my mom because he could not stand her being Alpha. Not even the fact that they were fated mates stopped him. Not the fact that she was already pregnant with me. He just could not stand his woman being more powerful than him. So I had not paid much importance to the mate bond.Until now.I had no idea it would affect me this way.The scent and the instant connection knocked the breath out of me, and all I wanted at that moment was to claim him for myself. It was the most powerful force I had e

  • Alpha's regret: Omega's second chance   III-29: The bond we choose

Damien's POVAmanda left earlier than she should, leaving Marcel and Solana here— the alliance they came for, forgotten. Everyone was gathered in the living room, and I could almost taste the tension in the air when I walked in.But I didn't care about anyone else, as my eyes found her immediately.Amara was sandwiched between Valerie and Carrie, but she wasn't relaxed. Not like before. Her body was tense, her hands curled into her laps. And when she looked up at me, the warmth in her eyes was gone. There was no spark or smile. Just silence and something awfully close to dread. No, this was different. Distant. Guarded. Like she was preparing herself for the worst. Her eyes were so sad, like she was expecting me to walk up to her and tell her everything between us was over.I didn't hesitate as I walked over, every single person in this large living room blurred to nothing as I took her hand. "Come with me."She looked at me, trying hard to read my expression and control her own. It wa

  • Alpha's regret: Omega's second chance   III-28: Consequences

Damien's POV I got dressed as quickly as possible, feeling like a fool. I had been so carried away with Amara, that I forgot about the consequences of defiling the mate bond. I might not want Alpha Amanda, but she definitely didn't deserve this just after meeting me. I went low. So fucking low. And when I opened the door, I met the Alpha standing there, looking all shades of angry. "You better have a damn good explanation for hurting someone like this." "I... I forgot." That seemed to anger him even more. "You forgot? What do you fucking mean by that? I expected better from you, Gamma." I avoided his gaze. Right now he was not a friend or a brother. He was my Alpha, and I disappointed him. "I will go to her." He kept on looking at me as if expecting me to say more. "And I will apologize and explain the situation to her. We cannot work." "And that is totally fine. What is not fine is you hurting her because you can't keep it in your pants for a minute." He shut his eyes, inhali

  • Alpha's regret: Omega's second chance   III-27: Unwanted mate

Damien's POV I was enjoying the bliss of holding Amara and listening to her yap just about anything, as we climbed down the stairs. Now I knew all about kameron walking, Valerie and Klaus' matching tattoos, whatever the Omegas were saying in the kitchen. Back in the room, my wolf had been restless, pacing relentlessly as if trying to give me a sign about something. But nothing seemed wrong. Maybe he was just happy about last night. Just like me, my wolf also loved the red-head. But with each step I took, I became more tense, my hand tightening around Amara, a feeling of nausea coiling in my stomach. I didn't see her before the scent reached me. A crisp blend of wild rain and lilies. And when I set my eyes on hers, I froze. Something snapped into place between us, and my wolf stirred like never before. 'Mate.' I heard it. Loud and clear, but I still refused to believe it. No. No, no, no. She stood up, a picture of elegance and sophistication. Powerful aura making sure no one wo

  • Alpha's regret: Omega's second chance   III-26: First steps

Amara's POV I woke up late the next morning, tangled in the Gamma's arms, my face on his chest. My body ached slightly from our activity last night, on the lake and back here in his bedroom. Thinking about our time at the lake made me blush so hard. I never thought I would ever have sex outdoors, but there I was, holding on to dear life while he pounded me from the inside out. And I shamelessly begged him not to stop. I remembered promising that I would not make a sound, just in case someone was close by, but he didn't even go halfway before I broke the promise, screaming into the night like my life was on the line. Maybe it was. My body still tingled from the places he had touched me, which was basically everywhere. I stretched lazily, biting down a moan as a full, sweet ached settled between my thighs. Damien's arms tightened around me instinctively, like he sensed my movement even in his sleep. His face was so close— soft, relaxed, boyish even, when he wasn't growling possessiv

  • Alpha's regret: Omega's second chance   III-25: Whispers of the past

~Amara at 18, Damien at 22 Damien's POV Amara shifted. I had taken her to the forest early, taken all that she would need— extra clothes and sweaters, painkillers, water, myself. I was there for her at every step, carrying the pain with her. It was not easy. Damn, it was scary as fuck even though I had witnessed many shiftings. At every point, I wished I could just take the pain for her, but I knew the pain was necessary for every wolf. And by the time she was done, I felt like a proud dad. Amara hugged me so tight, I thought she might fall apart if she let go. Her body was still trembling from the shift, skin flushed, pupils wide with the lingering scent of transformation. She buried her face into my chest, and I didn't hesitate to wrap my hands around her and pull her closer. Goddess, I didn't think I've held anything so precious in my life. "I did it." She whispered, voice shaky. "You did it." "It was all you." That made me chuckle. "You would have shifted with or without
