Alpha Diego POV.
After my conversation with Olivia, two days ago. Somewhere within me, I had the feat that she had been caught. If not, Alpha Navier should have been announced dead by now. I should never have entrusted the bitch with such a mission. She's a fuck up. But I had no other person who could infiltrate his pack. "Fuck! She can never do anything right! So useless." I grunt out in frustration. That bitch, would jeopardize our plans before it starts, but it's just a feeling right? I concluded, and picked up the phone that buzzed on my table. "Alpha Diego, tell me you succeeded." He ordered, before I could speak. "It shouldn't be that hard to convince your girl. She's Naive." "Hmmm, Alpha Stone." I started, taking a deep breath. It's always takes up my courage to speak to him without stuttering. "It wasn't as easy as I thought. She has formed such a deep hatred for me, than I expected." I selected my words carefully, not to slip up about my fears. "What!" He yelled right into my ears so loud that I flinched, me an Alpha. "You assured me your girl is up to the task!" "Yes, I did. But things change." I was forced to snap back. He is the rogue king and so what? He doesn't get to treat me like I'm his underlings. I am an Alpha. "Don't you dare raise your voice at me, Diego!" He snarled, in a voice full of Authority. "You know the danger associated with our failure. She's your daughter force her, or threaten her to do it! And if you can't, you're just a weak ass Alpha like everyone says." I calmed down instantly. I couldn't raise my voice at him. One order from him, my pack will be burnt to the ground. He''s almost as cruel as Alpha Navier. The only difference was he was a Rogue king that attacks from the shadows. Besides this is my only chance to become one of the most powerful, richest Alpha in the world. I can't "Understood," I replied. "But I can't threaten her. If I do that she might rat me out to Navier. She is a hopeless romantic, she'd confess if the pressure’s too much." I tried to reason with him. "Don't worry, I have one of my girls on that. He'd never mate your daughter." He chuckled darkly. "My informants told me Navier already made her his maid. So your daughter probably hates him, more than she despises you." "Are you certain..." "Don't question me!" He cuts in before I could finish my sentence. "Go back to her tonight." "I fear that someone has already seen me with her," I exclaimed. "That's better. It means she will be punished. Use that to form hatred in her heart against Devon as well." Stone urged. I thought about it for a while, and decided it was true. If she were caught with me, he'd think she's a spy and punish her. And that would fuel her hatred and put an end to her mating fantasies. "A brilliant idea, Alpha Stone." I chuckled in agreement. "I should be on my way then." *** After a few hours of walking in my wolf form, I spotted Mira on the field, training tirelessly. I wanted from when she was punished with a thousand laps, to when she fainted and cold water was poured on her head. That irked me. I don't care about Mira. But it annoyed me to see her maltreated by Navier's men. It only means that Navier gave control to his men to also abuse my daughter. But then I guess she deserves it. No pack wants a liability, a curse. Even I her father would have done so much worse in their shoes. But still, I felt a sting in my heart. I waited for hours on the tree, till she returned to her room, then I made my way to her room. I was extra careful not to be spotted. I knocked on the door, and she opened it. Her facial expression made me smirk. "Mira, my child. Can I come in." I said, and tried to walk in. But she recovered from shock and tried to shut the door. "If you dare shut the door..." I warned, an evil smirk curling at the corners of lips. "I will go wandering around till I am caught. Do you think you'll be safe?" Before I could blink, she pulled me in, and slammed the door shut. "What do you want?" She glared, and I smiled. "Olivia, that is not a way to greet your father," I said. "I can't believe you would welcome me in such a manner when I came to see you." She scoffed. Her expression showed disbelief and I smiled more. "How are you?" I asked. She looked at me in surprise. She opened her mouth to speak and then she closed it. I wanted to laugh out at that point but I knew it would ruin all my plans so I withheld the laughter. "Are you fine?" I tried to touch her, but she flinched. "Please, I want to apologize. I'm sorry for everything I have done to you." "Sorry is not enough." She gestured. How I was able to understand her, I didn't know. I guess it had to do with the blood we shared. "Navier doesn't love you, Mira." I repeated. She stared away from me and I knew right then that I had gotten her. "Look at what he did to you, he found you unconscious, and rather than helping you inside, he emptied a bucket of cold water on you," I said. How did you know? She gestured to me. "I overheard him brag about it to his subordinates as I was coming. That was why I had to come in to check up on you. Mira, why not end this torture, and return home." I lied. "That's not true." She signed, I watched as different emotions showed on her face. She was in denial. Poor child. "Would you do nothing? To show him you're not a doormat?" I goaded her, I needed her to believe that she had no chance with Navier. "Or would you rather stand there and watch him use you, and make another woman his mate?" No, no. She shook her head, her hands flapping in anger. I don't know what she said but it seems like my words got to her. Good. "Listen, you can lock up his wolf first. Later you can kill him off. That way, you will be free from this torture, and you will be accepted back in our pack and celebrated as the hero who killed Alpha Devon." "Think about it, my darling daughter." Telling her all this was easy but pretending to care about her was so hard. I felt disgusted by my words. "You should. We will accept you, and you can choose another mate who will respect you." I proposed. "So do the needful. Make use of those bottles I gave you." "I will come in to check in on you next time, make sure you make the choice that will make us proud of you," I pecked her forehead with a smile. I knew my words had gotten to her, with the way she looked distraught when I kissed her head. So naive and innocent.Mira's POV.My blood ran cold. Ellen would take it to the Alpha? Why has my life been so damn unlucky? First, it was my father pressuring me to kill my mate, and now Ellen is pressuring me to explain the content in the vials.Life was beginning to tire me. All I ever wanted was love, not endless trials. What could I say to escape this mess? Besides, Ellen is just the head cook; if matters escalate, I could get Mama T to make her give it to me.“Can you be quick with your answer!” Ellen snapped impatiently. “I don't have all day, not all of us are jobless like you are!”Her words irked me, and I flipped out.“Then go to hell, and give me back my pouch, you evil witch,” I angrily signed, stubbing my foot on the floor in frustration. I wished I could speak aloud and curse her. I was tired of being pushed around and intimidated.“What did she just say?” Ellen asked, amusement in her eyes. She found my hand gestures funny, and it frustrated me that I couldn't speak.I had never felt so hum
Mira's POV. My remained fixed on the door, long after Father left. Was I supposed to obey the man who made my life a living hell since I was born? Or protect my fated mate, who clearly wanted nothing to do with me? But Navier was changing. He'd been furious at the hospital when he found out I wasn’t eating. He even carried me on his back. That had to mean something. Father was wrong! Navier was starting to care for me. Father didn't see the love in his love eyes. I knew it wasn't conjured by my imagination. It was real. For hours, I forgot about the hunger twisting my stomach, and fought the storm of uncertainties raging in my head, until I remembered. I didn't have the vials anymore. I'm so dead! I stood up abruptly, ran to the wardrobe and rummaged through it, flipping my single man’s bed upside down in search of the Vials. Where could it be! I thought in panic, my heart racing with every second. Father would kill me. Then it hit me, the last time I saw the bl

Mira’s POV The world felt hazy, like I was stuck underwater. I fought to open my eyes, but they were heavy, pulling me back into the dark, but somewhere above me, voices drifted in and out."Is she dead?" Someone asked coldly, making me wonder who it belonged to. But then, everyone wished me dead which wasn't surprising.I even wished desperately for it."Goddess! Navier! I told you she wasn't ready for this level of training, but you wouldn't listen. Are you trying to kill her?" An angry voice, laced with concern, shouted. "Let's just get her to the hospital, dammit.""Let's wake her up with a bucket of water," a third voice suggested.I couldn't identify the voices except for second, which was Ethan's, as my mind was still foggy. Before I could process anything else, a sudden splash of cold water jolted me awake. As I became more aware of my surroundings, I looked down and saw that my clothes were wet, and Navier was holding an empty bucket, standing a few steps away.My heart san
Mira POV.I awoke the next morning feeling exhausted and worn out. Memories of the previous night flooded my mind, filling me with dread at the thought of going to the training ground.I glanced at the wall clock and saw that it was almost eight."Shit," I cursed in my head, jumping off the bed. Despite my fear, I knew I had no choice but to get to the field as early as possible before he arrived. The thought of being punished for lateness spurred me into action.I quickly bathed and changed into clean clothes, making a mental note to wash the dirty laundry piling up from the day before. As I left my room, I noticed maids heading toward Navier's quarters, whispering and laughing as they climbed the stairs. That cruel, pampered bastard was likely waiting for breakfast in bed. With so many maids catering to his every whim, why had he insisted on making me his personal servant? Why couldn't he just leave me be?Oh right, he made me his personal maid just to have me around, for the sake o
Mira's POV.I forced myself back to my feet, with the help of Beta Ethan who was looking at me with undisguised pity in his eyes. “Are you okay?” His voice was low, concerned. “I don’t know what Navier was thinking, making you run a hundred laps on your first day of training.” His frustration blends into his tone.I offered him a weak smile and nodded, but I didn’t dare sign. If I did, I knew I’d break down completely.I felt the weight of stares from the warriors nearby. Some looked at me with pity, others with barely concealed anger. Their Luna, a weakling. I dropped my gaze to the ground, my stomach twisting. They must resent me and probably sympathize with their Alpha for being saddled with a mate like me. No one wanted a liability. I smiled at him weakly, nodding in response to his question. I knew that if I tried to sign, I would only break down in tears.Ethan’s voice pulled me from my thoughts. “You should get that wound checked at the hospital,” he said, nodding toward my s
