What you have, Lyra is a gift that is not common. A gift which has not existed on the face of the earth for centuries.

It is very important that you understand the weight of the burden that comes with this gift.

It is power, and with great powers comes great responsibilities. 

The most important thing you need to learn is control. How to control your power. Or else, you could cause real damage with it.

Lyra’s lips quivered as her mother’s words replayed instantly in her head.

For years, she had learnt self-control. How to control her emotions and keep them in check all the time. 

How could she let herself snap so soon?

She froze in place as she watched Lex, sit beside Ava and lift her head on his laps.

She was not moving. Her face was white as snow, and Lyra’s heart skipped a beat.

“Ava….” Lex called, shaking his sister and Lyra’s heart broke in pieces at how weak his voice was.

She blinked twice to prevent unshed tears, and walked slowly to them.

“Can I take a look at her?” Lyra asked.

Lex turned to stare at her with a cold eye that was red with unshed tears.

He just gave her a nod and she went on her knees beside Ava.

She examined her pulse and breathed a sigh of relief when she found out that she was still alive.

But the stick by her side was scary at the same time and she was losing a lot of blood.

Lyra inhaled sharply to calm her nerves. She could do something about this. She knew she could.

“I can’t pull the stick out…” Lex said with a sniff.

“I can’t. It's too big and too deep, and she is a fast healer. She might heal with the stick still in her.”

Lyra did not say a word. She placed her palms beside the stick, cupping it and closed her eyes.

Of course, she had never done anything like this before. She did not even know the right spell to use.

So, she focused on her inner energy, till everything around her slowly faded away, till she could feel the power burning in her, and then with the utmost concentration and dedication, she channeled it to her hands.

Lex’s gasp a few minutes later made her open her eyes, and she almost smiled at his wide eyes which almost looked comical.

She looked down at her hands and released a sigh of relief when she saw the tree slowly vanishing into nothing.

Slowly, it turned into ashes until there was nothing left and the wound slowly covered up right under her eyes.

“Oh, My Goodness,” Lex gasped looking up at her.

Lyra offered a little thanks.

She pulled it off. She never thought she could but she saved a life.

You have the power to take life. You also have the power to restore it. You are blessed beyond any imagination.

Her father had told her this on her sixteenth birthday, but Lyra never really understood what he meant.

Because she always hides her powers, she never got the chance to trust the powers to see what she was truly capable of.

“She should be fine,” She said, placing a palm on Ava’s forehead until some color came back to her face.

“Should take a while but she will be fine.”

Lex released a breath and placed a kiss on his sister’s forehead before standing up.

“I don’t know what to say,” He said and Lyra stood up, folding her hands.

“It’s fine. I am so sorry for this. I am so sorry for what happened. I lost control; I am so sorry” 

“I understand. Lyra…have you always had this power?” 

Lyra nodded, “Yes I have. I was born with them” 

Lex frowned, his forehead creasing.

“That’s interesting,”

They stood, staring at each other awkwardly.

“Well- “

“Can you come home with us?”

Lyra frowned at the sudden request, “Excuse me?”

Lex sighed and dragged his hand through his black hair.

“I would love it if you would go home with us. We need to talk about this. The mating and your powers too. We can’t just let it slide”

“Oh, I see,”

“Yes. There are lots of things we need to consider and discuss before making any decisions. Especially your power,”

“Especially my powers?” Lyra whispered as she felt her anger rising slowly, “I see. So that is the most important thing to you right now? My powers? Oh wow,”

“Lyra, come on that’s not……”

“No, I get it. That is all that truly matters to you all. Power and how to hoard it. Well guess what dear Mate….” She hissed, “My powers belong to me and me alone. Not you, not to anyone. It is not up to any discussion”

With that she picked up her bag and marched out with her head high.

Talk about her powers her foot.

Lyra did not give a damn about any mating.

She would die and burn down anything around her before she would allow any one take advantage of her because of her powers.

Her parents had warned her. She knew that definitely anyone who hears about her powers would look for a way to actually control it and her.

How is it that no one cared about humanity anymore?

But again she would be damned.

Mate or not, there was no way she would stoop and let some egomaniac take advantage of what she had.

Not even the damn Alpha.

She had her life and she had two little boys waiting for her back home. Two little boys she had to heal.

Lex stared at Lyra as she marched further into the woods angrily. What had he done? 

What exactly had he done wrong?

“Nice one dumb ass,”

Lex turned around to see her sister sitting and staring at him with a raised brow.

He released a breath of relief and rushed to her.

“You heard all that?” He whispered, helping her up and examined her body. You would not guess that she was lying lifeless just a few moments ago.

“Yes, I did, and I am ashamed of you, “Ava scolded.

“You totally blew that brother.”

“She is important, her powers are. With her we could really have a strong defense against the other packs”

It made perfect sense. And he wished that very soon Lyra would understand that.

Never did he know that such power was possible on the face of this earth.

Never.

“Lex, no woman wants to be used as a weapon. And she is your mate for God sake”

Lex did not want to think about that at all. 

Somehow that still sounded ridiculous to him. He had a mate already. And they have a child together. How could she possibly be his mate?

Lex believed in the Moon Goddess and he was smart enough to know that she never makes mistakes.

This, there had to be a reason for this.

“Come on Lex. You ought to see what I am trying to say,”

‘I have a mate Ava. I am married. It is complicated”

“No, it's not brother,” Ava snapped, “Your mate is another story entirely. I have been telling you, your wife is a No Good. Don’t you think that this is the perfect opportunity to get rid of her finally?”

“It's not that easy,” Lex sighed, “I have a child with her and she is pregnant. I have to put my children in consideration,”

Ava looked at him and just sighed.

“I hope that by the time you realize finally what is happening right under your watch, it won’t be too late.” Ava said and brushed past him, brushing the coat she was wearing.

She stopped and turned back, “Lyra could be an opportunity for a new beginning from the goddess. But because you are too focused on powers, you might lose her too, the best thing that could happen to you”

Lex stared at her speechless. She shook her head sadly, changed into her wolf and ran off.

Lex released a sigh. Confused as hell.

What was he supposed to do in this situation?

How on earth was he supposed to take in a second mate?

Something like that has never happened before.

For a moment he remembered the kiss and he felt his groin getting hard instantly.

He had only wanted a way to distract her from her anger, but what he felt was something he had never felt before in his life.

Not even with his mate.

Maybe, it was the mating heat. Definitely the mating heat.

But was it though?

 He knew that was trash, same way he knew that the mating heat would definitely kick in soon.

Lex wondered how he would handle that when it happens.

Yes he had a wife, but he could not even remember the last time he was intimate with his wife.

Now he had an angry mate, an angry sister and worse of all, he wondered what his wife would do if she hears about this.
