Chapter 47: After Two Days

Time pass by in silence between the two, Evan eventually felt the heat returning to his once freezing body and his temperature was restored to normal.

While still waiting, the prince then felt Mayari's arms loosen its grip and the weight of her head, lying in the back of his shoulder.

'Did she fell asleep?' Evan asked himself.

With the slightest movement, Mayari's limp body suddenly slid down from his back and almost hit the cold floor. Fortunately, he caught her in time.

He held her sleeping form in his arms and shifted her in a more comfortable position while trying his best not to wake her up.

"This is a first," Evan mumbled to himself. "I never thought that you would trust me enough to fall asleep by my side, Mayari."

Evan gently brushed away the strands of raven hair in her face, then fixed the coat to cover her body and keep her warm.

"You never once lowered your guard when you are with anyone. I, too, have no exception."
