I am of a slave, but not the slave that you may think of. My mother was of slave, but she had become famous because of her extremely attractive facial features. People would travel far and wide to see of the dark skinned woman, with skin as dark as the devil. It was believed she was far too beautiful and therefore she was thought of as supernatural and not human.

She was kept in cages, and viewed at art shows and lavish royal dinner parties and masquerades. She was a prize that her master had spent very good money on. Her master became famous and wealthy because of her, since people would pay any amount due to set their eyes on her in her locked cage, but time is a force and soon my mother was no longer the 16 year old or the youth age of 25 anymore, and soon enough she'd lose her beauty, wither and die. And then what will her master do? He could not let this happen.

So he went back to the motherland, and looked for a male, just as dark as my mother, and as good looking of a male that he could find before he brought him back to this land.

That is the story of how my mother and father met.

My mother had met my father when she was past her twenties, she was at the age of 37, or so her master told her, and my father was much younger than her. He was ten years her junior, but they fell in love and had me (or at least that is what I would like to believe).

I was the only child that my mother could have.

After a few years, a rich gentleman who was unknown, bought me for way more than my mother's master thought I was worth, but the master loved money and accepted the offer and I was sold off to my own master. My mother had cried, and I had as well, but I was still much young and did not understand that meant I would never see my mother again.

My life changed ever since I was bought by my current master and my life changed for the better. Master lived in an empty mansion all by himself. He gave me my own wing of the mansion, even as a child, I had access to over 20 bedrooms, all of them my own. I had ladies in waiting and my own servants even though I myself was a slave.

I received the best education from the best professionals in the world. Master made sure I was well versed in literature, poetry, music, arts and dance.

Master kept me indoors until I was thirteen years old, before he began hosting concerts and big dinner parties where he charged royals and demanded gold coins and expensive jewellery for them to catch a glimpse of me.

I was not allowed to converse with any person and to be honest, I do not believe that I can because when I enter a place, everyone hushes and mumbles my name of Aphrodite.

That is the name my master has given me, Aphrodite

One of my teacher's told me about Aphrodite and how she was the Greek Goddess of love and beauty. My teacher went on to tell me, I got the name Aphrodite because my beauty surpassed my mother's and I was full of love.

I do not know much about my Master because he has never said more than ten words to me at once. It is always just him standing there, watching me as I perform for the crowds. I feel his eyes on me whenever I am on stage, either dancing or singing for the masses that were wealthy enough to afford the high price of being in the same room as Aphrodite. Strangely, I feel safe when he watches me in the distance, standing in the corner, just watching me.

Abigor is his name. That is all I know about my master.

I never sit and eat with him, I have never drank with him and I rarely speak to him. He treats me well and I have nothing to complain about, so I stay away from him as much as he stays away from me.

"Have you ever heard Master Abigor speak?" I asked my lady in waiting, letting her bathe me. I was used to the feeling of her hands washing over my body, cleaning me of any dirt. My curiosity was getting the best of me, "his voice," I reminisced, remembering a conversation with him in the past month, as he escorted me from my carriage and into the theatre he had built for me to always perform at.

She giggled, and I smiled at Lydia, "he does have quite the voice," she whispered like it was our little secret and we giggled.

"He must have all the women of London falling at his feet," I sighed dreamily, remembering his bright eyes as he looked down at me, "Master Abigor is a fine gentleman."

"Hush," Lydia giggled, unable to stop as she stepped back and then held up a robe for me, "we must get you ready for the night."

"Where is my gown, Lydia?" I asked her, accepting the robe. I had not seen my gown for to-night and this concerned me because I needed my dress to be perfect for this night. I was not going to be dancing, I was going to be singing, for an hour, so I needed my dress to look perfect.

I needed to look my best for Master Abigor.

"It is here," Lydia soothed me as we stepped out of my bath chambers and into my bedroom chambers and all of my servants rushed around me. I looked at the dress, smiling as I ran my fingers over the material that felt foreign and expensive before I looked at the expensive jewellery laid on my bed.

Master Abigor always gave me new jewellery every time I was to perform. He would give me plentiful jewellery where at times I felt as though I was royalty and even at most times, the Queen.

"Oh my," I gasped looking at the dress, "I have never seen such a marvellous creation," I said earnestly.

I smiled wide, looking at my jewellery pieces, "I will certainly be the Belle of the ball with this, Lydia," I told her and she nodded.

"You are always the Belle of the ball," she replied.

With Master Abigor, that is most certainly true.

  • Aphrodite   Chapter 40

I ran a wet hand over my hair, laying down the silky hair as I looked at myself in the mirror. I was met with no reflection of myself and it brought a smile to my face to know how invisible I truly was.I fixed the cuffs on my sleeves before I put on my tunic. My eyes were immediately drawn to the simple wedding band on my finger and I thought of my beautiful mate who would awaken at any moment.I were not entirely certain when she would awaken but patience is a virtue, and I would wait for her. Even if it may take an eternity- at some point in time she shall open her eyes and I shall not be forced to carry on the rest of my life in solitude.I turned on my heels and strode out of my bathing chambers and towards my bed. I stood at the foot of the bed, my eyes setting on my wife who lay completely still. Her hands rested on h

I laid my head on his chest, my heart thumped against my ribs, my ears had a constant ring and my mouth was dry. We were finally alone. The sun had set and the guests had left.It had been a beautiful day, one that ended far too quickly for my liking. I wished I could have spent the rest of eternity in that moment with Abigor. As we swayed together to the music being played by my very own teachers. I could still hear how beautifully the strings of the violin had been pulled as he and I danced together. I heard the ooh's and ahh's from our exclusive audience. We only had the wealthiest and the most powerful attend. It had truly been an event for the books. But now, it was time for me to meet my end.Abigor held onto me just as tightly and we silently stood in embrace, refusing to let the other go. It felt like we had been standing this way for hours since the balls of my feet felt as though they

  • Aphrodite   Chapter 38

Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever imagined that the day I were to wed some person, it would be this magical. From the way that the sun rose, it felt as though the elements of the world were celebrating with me. The sun shone just a bit brighter today and the skies were a clear blue.I was unable to eat anything, just simply sat there and let myself be pampered in preparation for the moment when I would accept Master Abigor's hand in marriage. It was when the sun had passed its peak that I was finally ready and slipped into my wedding gown. Never has a simple gown ever brought me to tears as I thought of how far I had come.I hugged each of my ladies in waiting and especially clung onto Lydia for just a bit longer. We talked about how Master Abigor and I had started out and giggled about how none of us would have ever imagined that it w

The home was abuzz. The most abuzz it has been my entire life. The servants were running around, shouting to each other in excitement and it brought a smile to my face because every person was happy for this union. There were no longer moments of silence. The once always silent home, was now a home buzzing with joy.I walked into Master Abigor's quarters, headed for his office. When I reached the big oak doors, I pushed them open before I entered the room.My eyes immediately connected with Master Abigor's who was sitting behind his desk. I closed the doors behind me and walked towards him. I smiled at him and he returned the smile with a confident smirk, "to what do I owe the pleasure of such a meeting?" he asked me as he put his feather down and rolled up the scroll that he was writing on.By the time I had reached his table he had already stood up and stood in front of me. He took my hands into his and leaned do

  • Aphrodite   Chapter 36

There was a hush in the air as I clutched the fur coat tighter around my body to shield myself from the cold. Yet, the cold was far from my mind. I was very much aware that some person else occupied the room with me but I cared very little for that. All I cared for was the creation before my eyes.My wedding dress.Unlike the outrageous ball gowns that I am always dressed in, this dress was an A line with no extra tulle to make it appear bigger. I could tell that if I were to wear it, it would not weigh the same weight as my ballgowns with iron rings underneath.Instead, the dress had beauty in its simplicity. Sleeves were non-existent, a simple sheer that matched with my skin tone were on the shoulders of the mannequin to show how the dress would sit on me. The dress was made from a bright and white lace, and the dress was slightly transparent. It was the back that took my breath away. The ill

  • Aphrodite   Chapter 35

I stood in the centre of Abigor's bedroom chambers. There was a blanket laying on the floor, and atop the blanket was a variety of food choices and drinks. The entire room was dark and the only light that illuminated the room and allowed me to see the person in the room with me were the candles that were in a circle around the blanket.I should be sitting on the floor, dining with Abigor. Yet Abigor was circling me slowly. I could feel the heat of his gaze as he looked me up and down from every angle.I wore a white silk dress, one that was the definition of temptation.I know not what came over to warrant such actions but I enjoyed when I brought a reaction out of him. It brought a smile to my face to know that a simple woman such as myself could have such an effect on a vampire.&nb
