For the rest of the journey, they heeded her advice, taking the pass through Gildean Hills. They didn't even rest throughout the day and night was once again falling. Finally, deciding it was best to rest, he used mindlinks to alert the Elite Guard to spread the word. Half of the group continued to track for food and the other half set up camp for the night.

Theo had been helping Samson prepare a fire. A few of the others left to find water and wood to tend to the fire. Grateful for the fire, he sat down. His back rested against the roots and trunk of a tree. Soon the others were coming back to the camp with provisions. Miraculously, nobody was lost in the ambush.

“Thank you Elvish armor,” Aiden said, having just shifted back to human form and eyeing his garments.

Amos grunted at his brother. “Be very grateful that you nabbed that.”

All of them purchased the new enchanted elvish armor before the ambush that left the village in ruins. Aiden nodded and Theo wondered if the others in the village made it out. His attention was drawn to the hooded and cloaked figure.

“And be grateful to that mystery stranger,” Amos reminded. “She saved all our lives.”

Busying himself with the boar they found on the hunt, Jethro nodded as he took his knife out to cut into the animal. “Fighter was a lady?”

“Yes,” Amos said, glancing over at Theo. They held eye contact before Theo sighed then nodded his consent. “It was Calyx.”

The knife Jethro was using dropped momentarily before he quickly continued to take out the impertinent parts of the beast. It was Aiden that bounced forward in shock.

“You really think so?” he asked. His eyes immediately focused on Theo. “I thought it was Caly too. Do you really think it was her?”

Biting his lip, Theo remembered her smell in wolf form and her red hair. “Smelled like her,” he confessed. “Also sounded like her. She had her red hair as well.”

“She also said my name,” Amos supplied. "And Theo's."

Theo got up abruptly. “I'm going to check the perimeter and take the first watch. When everyone is filled up, I want everyone to buckle down and get some rest.”

“Okay, mom,” Aiden grumbled, the edge of his sarcasm wasn't as sharp as it usually was.

Theo glanced around at his men. He could feel their pity bearing down upon him and he couldn't stand it. They all knew what she meant to him and he couldn't even be properly angry with her since she just rescued them. It wasn't fair. The first time he finally was in the same vicinity as her, it was in a dire situation and he couldn't just go chase after her.

“I'll go with you,” Amos finally said, taking his cue from him.

Others agreed as well to take the first watch. They all headed out and shifted into their wolves, breaking up into groups to check and maintain the perimeter for the duration. It wasn't until half the night was over that the first watch came in to eat and rest for the night.

As he ate in silence, he wondered if that would be only time he would ever see her again. Was that his only chance? At least, he got to see her again and she saved them. She saved him. She didn't hate him. He glanced up at the stars and wondered where was is. Had she escaped the vampires? Probably. She obviously knew what she was doing by how she handled them.

I don't think that'll be the last time we will see her, Amos suddenly broke into his thoughts.

Theo glanced over at his beta. Why do you say that?

Didn’t you see how she was fighting the vamps and how the vamps targeted her afterwards? Amos questioned through the mindlink. I think her parents were murdered by a vamp, Theo. I think she's been fighting them for awhile. We'll see her again. It's inevitable. We're all on the same side.

The feeling of inevitability of their paths crossing again thickened around Theo like smoke. When there was smoke, there was a fire and he was more than willing to take on the heat and get burned if that meant he could finally get answers.

Silverd was surrounded by vampires when Theo and the Elite Guard arrived. Just like most of the villages in the Elovaisus Forest and beyond, it was enclosed by stone walls and a gate. There was a moat surrounding the entire village. It was most likely the only reason why it hadn't received the same fate as Delsni. The drawbridge was up, preventing anyone entrance in or out of the village.

Perfect for a situation dealing with vampires during the Sun Season since by the time dawn rolled up, the vampires needed to find shelter from the sunlight. The Moon Season would prove to be difficult especially if Silverd needed supplies and resources beyond what the village could provide.

Men, he addressed the Elite Guard by mindlinking. What do you say? Let’s clear house!

With that, Theo and his men took off towards the vampires. The vampires realizing they had company turned and approached them as they clashed in front of Silverd with the guards watching above upon the wall.

It was nothing more than a skirmish and it was quickly over with the vampires running away cowardly. They weren't so tough now when they were the ones being ambushed. None of the enchanted vampires were here yet, but Theo was certain they would come during the Moon Season.

Theo glanced over as the sound of the drawbridge lowering caught his attention. He watched when the drawbridge lower completely. The gates were already opened and that familiar hooded and cloaked figure stood before them flanked by elves and dwarves.

His heartbeat quickened as the figure approached them as he and his men shifted back into their human form from their wolf form. All of them watched the figure, waiting for something to happen. When it did, it caused a collective sharp intake of air among them when the figure pushed down the hood of her cloak to reveal unruly red hair spiraling about her and framing her face. Those green eyes that haunted his dreams locked on him like a key sliding into a lock.

“I see you have made it through incredibly well,” she said, surveying all their faces. “Come, I am quite certain you have questions you would like answered.”

“Dante.”A voice called his name. The voice was soothing and familiar. As he opened his eyes, the entire cavern was bathed in a soft glow. The silhouette of Queen Hyacinth forms until all the details of her body are now visible within her aura.“She is a hybrid,” Hyacinth remarked, gazing at the lady next to him. There was a smile upon her face. “Both elf and fae. She has not quite tapped into her elemental powers yet.”Dante nodded. “She just found out that she is fae by Lady Crystobelle prior to our departure from The Great Willow Tree.”“I sense a great strength and capability within her,” she told him proudly with a nod of her head. “You have chosen well, Dante. She is the next Queen of the Fae.”His eyes widened at that. Did the Queen of the Fae just tell him that his mate was the next Queen of the Fae? Had he just misheard her? “I do not understand.”“I trusted you since you have a heart of gold and you have much wisdom from all the seasons you have lived and will continue to li

  • Archer Legacy Prophecy   Jealous Eavesdropper

Layla Kilburn had no problem showing Theo her interest in him. She made no secret about it, holding his gaze, engaging in conversation, touching him, and warming to his presence. She was like all the other ladies who weren't afraid to show their affection towards him. While Caly still refused to reveal her secrets much less allow him near her, he would gladly welcome Layla's advances especially when they resulted in Caly's glares tossed their way like well aimed daggers. It showed him that she wasn't immune to him. If jealousy brought out that proof of her feelings towards him, he'd use it to his disposal. He wasn't a womanizer like Aiden by all means, but he did pay attention to the elvish lord's daughter when she eagerly sought him out. Maybe, he shouldn't indulge if he had no intention of giving into her charms, but when the fire caught in Caly's eyes like it did now, it was worth it to him even if he felt the guilt seep in when he noticed Layla's hopeful expression."How do you li

  • Archer Legacy Prophecy   Not My Secrets To Tell

When Theo watched Calyx disappear into the keep, he continued to stare at the spot she vanished from eyesight. Frustration boiled to the surface as he shook his head at what just took place. His body strung up like a taut string a bow drawn by a readied arrow. He wasn't going to allow her to run away like she had last time... not that she could anyway. To his grim satisfaction, fate and destiny forced her to stay in place and he'd milk that for all it was worth. His eyes found his men in the crowd, but he only lingered upon Amos and Aiden, who understood they would be the only ones to follow. His eyes swept around until he found Aaron standing with the elves at the tower upon the wall. His eyes narrowed, zeroing in on the elf and Aaron sighed. He watched the elf whisper something to his comrads before he tipped his head to indicate down the steps. The redheaded elf walked down the steps and Theo followed him, knowing Amos and Aiden would be hot on his heels.Aaron led them into the vi

Without one more word between them, she watched as Dante continued to look into her eyes before he finally leaned down and captured her mouth again, but this time, it was slow and meandering. Heat between them had dimmed to sizzling during their conversation, but she could feel the warmth of something else -- less desperate, less needy. The desire for him had not dampened, but there was not this need anymore to rush and to take from each other out of fear that these fires would be forever stamped out.Her heartbeat thudded in her chest as his hands once again ventured over her body, caressing her as if he was honey. The pace was maddening but thrilling. Each spike of heightened pleasure stoked the logs, building up the fire between them again. When her hands bravely traveled his arms and chest, she became breathless at the hardness of muscle. She wanted to touch his skin, feel his heartbeat against the bare skin of his chest. Her hands slipped underneath his tunic and her fingers graz

  • Archer Legacy Prophecy   All These Misunderstandings

Sensations burned through Seraphina, ravaging her mind, heart, body, and soul. The mechanics of intercourse was something she had stumbled on in her studies. Ladies had gossiped and men had boasted lewdly, but she had never expected this and Dante had yet to truly touch her.Even the sheer bliss of his touch provoked her heart to pound frantically. There was nothing simple about how her body heated up at the brush of his hands, skimming her bare skin. His lips feasted upon hers as his hands explored the curves of her body. When his lips kissed a path down her jaw and pressed one chaste kiss against her throat that was when everything changed. She let out a strangled gasp. Her body clenched. Her fingers curled into his flesh. He drew her firmly against him as his mouth latched on to the sensitive spot. She squirmed, wriggling her body against his as he feasted upon her. A moan tore through at the feel of his tongue darting out and tasting her."Dante," she whimpered when his teeth scra

  • Archer Legacy Prophecy   Ruined

Seraphina grabbed the chest and walked over to the mouth of the cavern, bending down to deposit it in the ground. Her entire body radiated with pain. She had been so foolish to desire him the way she had, but she could not have helped it. Dante was a magnificent soul. When he walked over to where she was and she continued to pluck the flowers and placed them into the chest. She refused to look in his eyes. Both her eyes and mouth had already given away too many secrets. He followed her lead and they filled the chest to the brim. When she shut the chest and locked it, she felt like she was locking herself away.“Seraphina,” he called out to her when she shoved the chest back into her pack. Seraphina turned to him from where she sat on the ground. “What did you mean by that?”“Mean by…”“That you are not worthy to be my mate?” he asked.Fear drowned her. The panic was raising up her throat. She did not wish to talk about mates. She did not want to discuss how humiliatingly flawed and un
