Chapter twenty four

Maeve

I had a done look on my face as I stood leaning on the wall with Hazel's weight on me. I was already sick and tired of all these people pulling me around and questioning me like I was some suspect in a murder case.

"I asked you a question, and I expect an answer." She spat into my face.

I sighed to calm myself down before I answered her.

"I do not answer to you, Hazel. I don't see why I have to tell you or inform you about every little move I make."

I stayed against the wall, letting her think that she had the upper hand against me.

"Well, if you don't want to have both of our heads chopped off, then I think you do. You have to inform me of every single thing that you do when I asked you."

I was being lenient on her because I knew that she was paranoid about the whole situation, but it wasn't like I also wanted everyone to find out.

"Do let me get started on you, Hazel. You won't like me when I do." I let her know.
