Akasia’s Point Of View
A week has passed, and I am still not talking to my Dad. I never wanted any of this, and I hope he will know it so bad. “Wow, where’s your wedding dress?” My older brother tried to piss me off. I raised my middle finger at him, and he laughed. “Akai, please do me a favor.” I said. “Yes? Ano ‘yon?” He asked. “Be gone,” I said, and he laughed even more. He knows how to push my buttons! I need to meet up with Caleb again because our fathers ordered us to talk about the event and the place where the wedding will happen. I still have a week to come up with a plan on how to run away, right? I didn’t have a choice but to meet Caleb in the location he sent me. “I need your opinion, okay?” Caleb snapped off. “Can you cooperate for once?” His voice raised as he held my arms when I tried to walk away. “Ayaw ko nga!” I snapped my arms away from him and grabbed my car keys. Gusto kong uminom kasi naiinis ako! I called Lucila, and good thing she agreed to come with me. We went to our go-to club and decided to drink the night away. “You look so frustrated right now.” Lucila shook her head as she was looking at me. “Who wouldn't?” I grabbed a shot of tequila and drank it. My Dad pisses me off, his parents piss me off, and even he is pissing me off. Everyone’s making my head hurt. “Itakas na lang ba kita?” Lucila joked, trying to ease my mind. I chuckled and shook my head. My Dad will always find a way to locate me. He is too controlling and strict. It hurts my head. After a few shots, I decided to stay at my condo. I don’t want to see anyone’s faces tonight. I want to clear my mind and find a place for peace. My Dad bought me this condo because this is the nearest one to my work. I usually stay here when I don’t feel like going home. The next morning was a good day for me because today is the day when I will meet some new clients. I find it amusing to meet them when Dad is busy. I get to sit in his office and meet his clients. Although I do love to talk about businesses, I still don’t think that I am capable of helping the company. Dad saw me entering his office when he was about to attend a meeting. “You will visit the venue with Caleb today, right?” He told me. “Dad!” I irritatingly called him as he walked away. Wala na, gusto ko na lang umuwi. Ayaw ko nang makakita ng mga tao. I told Akai to come here and be the one in charge in Dad’s office. I didn’t used to call him “Kuya,” and that is okay for him as well. He doesn’t like it when someone calls him “Kuya” because he feels so old. Well, he is old. He’s three years older than me. The devil reached me because I received a text from Caleb demanding me to go to the said venue. Why is he always present? I saw Caleb talking to some of the coordinators and organizers, and he looked serious. When I heard the conversation, he said that strictly no media or any photos that might leak on social media. Wow, famous? I mean, I am glad that he thought of that. Hiding this kind of shit that will happen. He then walked towards me when he saw me. He was wearing a button-down white polo and grey slacks. His cold demeanor was darting my soul. It feels like he wants to rip the hell out of me. Not in a nice way, though. “Are you taking this seriously?” I asked him with an irritated tone. “Could you please just shut up and cooperate? I have a lot of work to do after this shit.” He said in his cold tone of voice. I might agree with some strangers that he sounds scary. Plus his accent makes it scarier. When I was doing research about him and his family the last few nights, it turned out that he is half Italian, where his mother was the Italian one and his father, Tito Carlo, was pure Filipino. He does have a younger brother named Calum. Their companies were known as some of the richest in Italy and here in the Philippines as well. Making him a billionaire. So that is why Dad really wants me to get married to him. Why did he agree, though, when he can easily get away from his parents because he has his own generational wealth and is a billionaire? He doesn't look like the husband type. He doesn’t look like he is the type of person to build a family. He looks like he is the main reason for a wrecked family.Akasia’s Point Of ViewThe midst feeling of loneliness as I sat in the middle of the table where Caleb and I were sitting. Heaven knows how I wanted to go home and take a deep rest. I wanted to sleep and to wake up from this nightmare. Kanina niya pa pinaglalaruan ‘yung glass of red wine na nasa table namin. After long hours of trying to talk with the other business tycoons. Tito Carlo ordered us to stay in the house that they bought. Caleb did not utter a word and just nodded. We were accompanied by some kind of driver that their family hired so that Caleb and I would be dropped off at the house. When we got to the designated place. A modern-looking house welcomed us with clean and furnished surroundings. There was lots of furniture, but some were missing. There are four normal-sized rooms and one master bedroom on the second floor. The first floor consists of a kitchen, living room, dining room, laundry room, and a
The door opened, and it was my Dad who was holding a paper bag and heading towards me. I did not utter a word and just let him do his thing.“I am so sorry, hija. But this is the best decision for your life and our company.” He said as he handed me his gift.I did not look at him and just kept staring at myself in the mirror.I don’t want his gift, and I never wanted any of this.As soon as he left, tears came streaming down my eyes as I sobbed quietly.I never thought that I would get married this early and to the ruthless billionaire man. I imagined myself marrying someone I deeply love. Not just marrying for the sake of my family’s business.I wiped my tears when I heard the door open again. It was Lucila, and she saw me wiping my ey
Be”I read the design in the walls as I looked at Lucila’s smiling face.“It’s your wedding day tomorrow, deserve more than a bridal shower.” She said.Putang ina?“I don’t—” I tried to calm myself as I looked at the bunch of liquors in front of me.“I invited your friends, so let’s enjoy and have some fun for the last night of your single life.” Lucila cheekily said as she handed me a glass of Black Label. There I saw some of my friends from college and my close friends at my Dad’s work. “So, who’s the lucky guy?” Glydel asked me as she kissed my cheeks. She was one of my closest friends during college, and now she’s a professional doctor.“I bet he’s glad that he got someone like Akasia.” Michelle uttered. One

Akasia’s Point Of View“What?!”Caleb and I both shouted. He started uttering profanities while I was questioning my Dad.“Why? What the fuck? Papa, what is this?” He asked with his accent. He sounds so Italian while calling his father. Prank ba ‘to? I am not loving this.” I said to my Dad. “I’m sorry, hija. But you know that our company’s falling down, and we need your Tito Carlo’s help.” He said.“By what? By getting married to his arrogant son? Oh my gosh, Dad, you're stressing me out. Wala ka man lang planong sabihin sa akin na may plano ka palang ganito?” Galit na saad ko sa kaniya. “We don’t have a choice, Aki.” He called me by my nickname.
Akasia’s Point Of ViewLoud noises, the arousing smell of alcohol, and shared laughter. I was enjoying the night with Lucila, one of my friends who has always been there for me since school days. We are currently in a club where we usually go during weekends. Most of the time we were out shopping for stuff, but tonight is different. We want to lure ourselves in with alcohol.“Are you having fun?” Lucila asked me while she took a shot of Black Label.“Of course! Next week pa ang uwi ni Dad, so I can do what I want! The night is still young!” I shouted in glee.“Girl? You're an adult, pero takot ka pa rin sa Dad mo?” She asked me. I simply nodded and took a shot too. Everyone’s scared of Dad, even my older brother is scared of him too. We were about to dance on the dance floor when my phone suddenly received a text. It was a text from my brother telling me to go home because Dad just came back from his flight.“Shit! I need to go!” Sabi ko kay Lucila. Nagtaka naman siya pero nag-thumb
