Chapter 9

Amber

“We are sooooo lost, Alex...” I hiccup and smile at the large and beautiful Lycan walking beside me through this very creepy labyrinth. He scowls down at me with wrinkles forming on his nose.

“We are not lost.”

Laughter bubbles up in my throat. “We are.”

“No, we are not.”

I just giggle and lift my chin, keeping my eyes on Alex’s face. He is so damn pretty...would he mind if I just lifted up his T-shirt and licked his abs for one hot minute?

“What?” Alex barks when I beam up at him. “Why are you looking at me like that?”

“Because you’re so pretty,” I say in a baby voice that I hope he finds cute. I want Alex to like me.

But much to my disappointment, he rolls his eyes at me and mutters, “You’re so drunk...”

“Maybe…”

Despite Alex’s attitude, I don’t stop smiling as I follow him. He is walking really, really fast, though. I have to take two steps at a time to keep up with him, but I’m struggling right now and almost fall head-first over a root that sticks up from the ground. Luckil
