58. We will meet again!

Author's POV 

Emerald exited her room, Ruby was waiting for her downstairs. She was going with Ruby to her house, and Egon was finally ready to let her go.

She came downstairs and saw that Egon was not there to say goodbye to her.

"What happened?"

Ruby questioned as Emerald started looking around.

"Egon?"

She asked.

"He won't come, Emerald... He can't see you going away from him... He might change his mind too. We should leave."

Ruby earged her.

Emerald smiled bitterly.

"If he changes his mind, he can find me anywhere in the world... I don't know if we will meet again or not after this. I can't leave without meeting him. Wait here!"

Ruby tried to stop her but she didn't listen and went to Egon's room. The door was open, and he was standing by the window with his hands in his pockets. He heard her footsteps but didn't turn around. 

"You always wanted to run away from here then what brought you back here?"

"Aren't you going to say goodbye to me?"

She closed the distance between them. 

"I am going to live without you, isn't that enough punishment for me?"

He closed his eyes when she hugged him from behind.

"This is my punishment too."

She wrapped her hands around his stomach. 

"I love you, Egon... I am sorry for everything."

He turned around and cupped her face, his eyes were filled with pain.

"Then don't go! I'll fix everything."

He pleaded.

She shook her head.

"Let me fix myself... If I heal then I'll come back... I promise!"

He sighed and hugged her tightly.

"I love you! I'll take this punishment, my love..."

"Don't let any other bitch touch you or else I'll kill her."

She warned. 

He smiled in tears and she smiled back. 

"You are mine... And I'll come back for what is mine."

He gently pulled her in a kiss and it turned passionate. She pulled him closer desperately, wanting to feel him one last time before destiny throws them apart. 

"I love you... I love you so fucking much..."

He pulled her closer, dominating the kiss. 

The passion ignited between them again as they surrendered to each other, without egos and hate. It was just pain and love. 

She let him carry her to his bed; it didn't feel like a punishment; it wasn't any burden. There wasn't any fear, they just wanted each other. 

Their bodies melted into each other, and their souls were desperate to feel each other. Tongues danced together as they burned in devotion. They couldn't consume each other more, the warm breaths were asking for more. 

Their pain stripped down along with their clothes, now it was just raw love without any boundaries. He worshipped her, like he was apologising for everything. She moaned like she was forgiving him with every thrust. 

"You are mine... You belong to me."

He tangled his fingers with hers as he dived deeper into her, and she moaned in the crook of his neck. 

"Remember this, wherever you go in this world..."

He groaned in her ears. 

"I am yours!"

She moaned back in agreement. 

"You don't deserve the pain, my love..."

He kissed her like he would eat her.

"You have taken enough pain, you suffered and survived like a queen you are, but now it's time to hand over everything to me... You have carried enough burden, give it to me and set yourself free."

She opened her teary eyes and looked at him as he slid into her heat. 

"I am selfish, I want you to stay with me but no matter how desperate that feeling is, I know that you need to be free from me. You are trying to stay back but you can't really do that... I'll always be there in your heart and mind. I'll always chase you in your dreams, I'll come in your nightmares... You will miss and love me in daylight and will fear me in the night. And I don't want that for you... It's time that I free you from myself..."

"Egon___"

She shuddered with orgasm and fell on the pillow, panting for breath.

He kissed her forehead, closing just behind her. She had closed her eyes with exhaustion, and he caressed her until her breathing calmed down. 

"What are you trying to do?"

She breathed out with closed eyes when he got up from the bed. 

He cleaned her and dressed her up while she admired him with a smile. 

"You are handsome! If we meet again, I am definitely falling for you again."

"You are making it difficult for me!"

He scolded her, she watched him curiously and as he got up and opened his drawer. 

She smiled bitterly when he grabbed the bottle and filled the syringe with the drug. 

"You really think that it will work?"

Egon came back and sat beside her.

"I don't want you to cry in agony. You deserve peace, my love..."

"And you will take it all alone?"

Her eyes watered. 

"Will you be happy if I forget you. With this, I won't even remember your name. You won't even exist for me."

He smiled in pain and kissed her head.

"Do you remember when I once asked you for your desperate wish and you said you want to forget everything. You don't want to become a queen, don't want this power and want to go back in time where we haven't met. You want to live a normal life... I am giving that to you. Live your life!"

"Without you?"

She got up and hugged him.

"At least I deserve to keep you in memories..."

"I would have let you but it will give you more pain than freedom... You have suffered enough, now chase happiness... I am not going anywhere, I'll be around you in shadows... I can't touch you but you will always feel me when you need me... I won't exist for you but you will be my world..."

He caressed her. 

"Please do it for me!"

She sobbed.

"Fine but you are wrong if you think that we won't meet again... I wouldn't know but you do. This time don't let me fail our love... We will fall in love again!"

He kissed her once again before she let him inject the drug into her, taking away her pain and memories. 

"You don't deserve a monster like me! You won't find me again in your happy life, I promise!"

He cried in pain beside her until she drifted into a deep slumber of darkness. He finally called Ruby. 

"Take her... Make sure she doesn't come in front of me again, that's my punishment!"

Ruby wiped her tears and took Emerald with her, leaving heartbroken Egon behind!
