I Wish

Since 02.00 a.m Green had not closed her eyes until this morning. The sound of the cock crowing indicated the night was changing. Green decided to get out of bed to clean herself up and get ready for morning worship. This morning she was going to try to call Alta again, after that she was going to work as usual then did her assignment with Cherry.

“I'm sure, Alta will always keep his promise, he will not do anything which can break the promise.” Green murmured herself.

After making up the bedroom, Green immediately went to the bathroom. She started the day with all possitive thoughts in order her day will be good. Green was in the bathroom for a few minutes, then she did early morning prayer. Right after doing her worship, her mobile phone vibrated indicating an incoming message. Green grabbed her phone fast, thought it must be from Alta. The deep breaths came from her lips after she saw that the message she had received was not from the person she expected.

“Green, how if today we do the task at my house."

"Sure."

After replying the message, Green took her time to look up her own social media. Her eyes widely opened as she saw what Alta shared, the moment with his classmates. Green saw it was being shared 30 minutes ago, Alta could have done that but not responded or contacted her. If he knew, Green was waiting to hear from him.

“Alta, you can share the moment in your story, but don't even try to approach me at all? Am I not that important anymore for you? If it is, why do you make beautiful shit promise? Why were you there for me to cure my scars if it will last with pain and dissspointment?" Green hazy eyes stared at the cellphone screen while she looked at the story gram Alta shared at his personal account over and over again.

At this early morning, her heart had been torn apart by the man who had always made her smile, encouraged her to start the day and motivated to always be a better person.

“Green, you should believe in Alta. You may not think negatively.” Green talked to herself, tried to convince her heart that everything was going to be okay, and then he would come back.

Since her mother passed away four years ago, Green has barely had no reason to live. Her world seemed to come to an end because the universe had forcibly taken what used to be the reason she was living happily. The sky was no longer beautiful for Green at the time, Green was a companion of cold and dark.

Till she got a speck of light Alta given, he accompanied Green through the darkest parts of life, Alta gave her the assurance that nothing was certain but death. Alta made Green slowly rised from the ashes and out of the blues. The support from Alta has kept Green that strong until now. Her first meeting with Alta, who was her high school friend, was the beginning for Green to look back at the world she had when it was not all right.

Green had no one but Alta, her father had remarried and lived happily ever after with a new family and did not care about Green, that made Green always relied on Alta, he was home when she did not know where to go, Alta was everything to Green. Her heart bloomed when Alta said he would marry her after they graduated. Even at this time, Green has no little doubt with it, she completely believed in Alta. She kept believing that Alta would keep his promise to safeguard the heart, and so she herself had never once looked at the other men she had ever met even the men she saw almost everyday.

“Sweety, I'm going to marry you one year later, would you mind to wait for me till that time?"

Green brought her memory in flasback, she still remembered clearly the day Alta said he would marry her and asked her to wait. It was at their third anniversary, exactly one month ago, the last time they met.

‘Kriiinggggggggggggg’ The alarm sounds from her clock knocked out her day dream. It was already 6:00 a.m in sharp. Green wiped the tears away, which suddenly rolled down oh her cheek, then she was ready to go to work, pushed the problem over for a while.

“Bro, Langit…,” The calling of a woman not far from her position. Langit turned to the source of it's calling. "Do this Kilas Balik novel turn up from your own experience?" asked the woman as she approached Langit at the bookstore.

Langit stared at her just a moment then smiling "I think no one will recognize me if I am wearing this mask and sunglasses." He said as he looked at her.

“It's impossible, your familiar face has been already well-known in the world of literature," said the woman with small chuckle.

"I'm not that, I'm learning still" Langit aswered with his humble attitude.

The woman was smiling. “So, how about my question then??"

Langit took a breath slowly with a sweet smile. "Won't it be nice to read without knowing the basic idea of the story?" Asked Langit still with his sweet smile.

“Okay. May I have your own signature here?" Asked the woman while held up a novel untittled Kilas Balik which she has been holding.

Langit took the novel then moved a ballpoint from his pants pocket into the novel. “Done.”

“Wow..,Thank you, Sir.” The woman shouted in joy and then left him.

A sweet smile was carved from the thin lips of Langit, one of the things he liked most was to see others happy because of the small things he did. This was not the first time Langit had been visited by his loyal readers in public, and when it happened Langit would be very welcome for the readers who came simply to say hello, asked for an autograph or took a picture together.

Langit resumed his activity focusing his gaze on the sheet in his hand, reading word by word with a smile expanding. As a person dabbling in the world of literacy, Langit do love reading, he thought reading and writing are two interrelated and inseparable things.

“I am so sorry, I didn't mean to,” said the woman who had accidentally knocked over a man who looked in hurry, the books he had brought falling all over the floor. It made Langit turning his gaze, and he saw the man was scolding the woman.

“Are you blind?” Asked the man with full of anger.

"Again, I do apologize, I really didn't mean to do that," said the woman who was none other but Green.

After finishing her work and before doing assignment with Cherry, Green took the time to stop by the bookstore for buying the novel they were going to analyze, Green's choice fellbon Kilas Balik by Langit. However, when Green was about to pay, she accidentally hit a guy which caused he yelled at her.

"You have to compensate for all these novels, can you see all of mine are torn because of you?" said the man in a quite shouting tone.

Green saw some novels lying on the floor, according to Green, all were still in good condition, not even the plastic was open.

”Sorry about that, it's my fault, but I think it's so exaggerate, we can both see the novels are completely in good condition and aren't torn at all. Green said it while returned the novel which had fallen. "Excuse me," Green said, then left the man.

"Hey, how dare you..." he went after Green and squeezed her hand.

"Get off! "Green said in a half shouted, the man's grip touched her wrist.

Langit who had been staring from distance could not only stand and watch a man hurt a woman in front of his eyes. Langit came over Green, took off his glasses and saw the man who was cursing Green with a look of disdain. "It's a public place, you shouldn't be so rude to women."

"Who are you? How dare you meddle with my affairs, it's none of your bussiness."

"If you haven't done it in front of my eyes, I will have interfered in your bussiness." Langit looked at the man with a piercing gaze, and then he continued: "I can report what you did to the authorities, people like you don't deserve to be left wandering about," said Langit full of emphasis.

"Please, don't do that, I'm teribbly sorry." The man put his hands in front of his chest and begged Langit.

"Apologize to this woman, not to me."

“Miss, I really apologize, it's my mistake, please don't report me to the police," the man begged and felt guilty.

Green only answered with a nod, Langit who saw it asking the man to leave. "Get out of this place before I change my mind."

"Yes, Sir. Thank you, Miss." The man left both Langit and Green who were still watched him as he left.

No one started conversation after the man left, until finally Langit bowed at once to gaze upon Green. "Are you okay?" aked him.

"I'm doing fine, thanks for helping me," Green said as he left Langit and continued to pay for the book in her hand.

"Hopefully we'll see each other again," he said while wore his sunglasses.
