Alessio:
I forced my eyes open as I heard my wife’s sobs by my side. Her head laid on the edge of the bed on her hands as she held on to my right hand.
I have been hearing them nonstop for a while now; however, no matter how hard I tried to get my eyes open, to try and at least comfort her, I couldn’t. I shut my eyes again as the light blinded me only to force myself to open them to meet her familiar green ones. Her eyes were wide in surprise and it was seconds later when she wrapped her arms around my neck, hugging me tightly.
I smiled as wrapped my left arm around her, my right arm restrained with the IV and whatever other liquids they had me plugged to. Her lips met mine before I could process, and I couldn’t help the chuckle that left my weakened body. She pulled away to look me in the eye and I smiled running my hand over her jawline, frowning when I noticed how tired she looked “Kia…”
