CHAPTER 15: A WARNING AND A THREAT

Cara directed the cabman to Amber's house, she knew she would be off from work by then. She needed someone to talk to badly.

Her red teary eyes welcomed Amber as she pushed the door open.

"What happened? Are you fine? Where are you coming from? Did someone hit you?"

Amber bombarded her with as many questions as she could think of.

"Which one do you want me to answer first?"

"Anyone that comes to your mind first."

Cara faced her son. "Baby, why don't you go inside Aunty Amber's room and watch TV."

"Okay mummy," the little boy, oblivious of what was going on, dropped his bag and dashed inside happily.

"I saw Jason today, at Mason's school," Cara said.

Amber wore a not surprised look and settled beside her. "Oh."

"What do you mean oh? You knew?" Cara snapped.

"Calm down Cara, yes I knew."

Cara sprang from her seat and paced around the sitting room angryily. She placed one hand on her forehead and the other rested on her waist.
