Chapter 10 Awkward

As they both try to lean in for another kiss, completely misjudging the distance, their heads bump together with a comical "oof." Laughter erupts, a welcome release from the tension.

Drew touched her forehead to check if there's any bruise or if she was hurt. Then there was an awkward silence. Both of them are waiting for the other person to make a move or say something. Seconds tick by, punctuated only by the blinking of eyelashes.

They tried to return to the conversation they were having before, but every word feels forced, punctuated by long, uncomfortable pauses. The air crackles with unspoken questions: "Was that good?" "Do we do that again?"

And when she tried to speak, "Actually," they both said at the exact same time, their voices overlapping in a delightful jumble. They burst out laughing, the awkwardness instantly dissolving.
