Chapter Fifteen

"Shit."

Alex said the word out loud staring at himself in the mirror with his toothbrush in his hand.

He had woken up by his normal wake up time- few minutes past seven and immediately got into the bathroom to get ready. He decorated his toothbrush with toothpaste, mentally picked his outfit of the day including his footwear and was about to have his toothbrush roam his mouth when he realized he didn't ask Seb the time they were to meet up.

Mentally groaning, he walked back into his room and unplugged his phone from the charger. With his toothbrush in his left hand and phone in his right, he texted him.

Alex: Good morning...

Alex: I forgot to ask yesterday. When should we meet up?

He waited for a few seconds and on getting no reply, sent his toothbrush into his mouth. It went in circles, Alex's eyes doing the same as he waited for a reply.

    After a couple of minutes more, they were all finally allowed to go in to see Alex. Seb walked in, Carol and Lucas taking lead as they moved towards Alex’s bed. He was changed into the typical patient’s outfit, a bandage wrapped around his head, few machines connected to him. They all stared at him, no words getting uttered. After a while, Carol heaved a sigh and walked out, Lucas doing the same to leave the room empty with just Alex and Seb in it. “Blue,” Seb moved closer towards Alex when it was just them in the room. Sighing, he took a seat next to him and placed his hand on his. “What were you thinking? I am the one who was supposed to get hurt after jumping out of the window.     It was late already and Seb had almost given up on Alex returning his calls when he finally had his phone ring, signifying an incoming call from him. He was probably unable to sleep, still worried about everything that happened so fast and finally ready to speak to him, he thought and without hesitation, swiped to pick the call. "Hey." Much to his surprise, he didn't hear the familiar voice of his boyfriend over the phone. Instead, it was the voice of a woman, seeming grown and oddly sounding familiar. "Hello?" "Blue?"     “Alex, are you-” Alex eyes immediately flew open, glancing at Seb on top him almost naked and then his aunt by the door, eyes widened, frozen in shock and horror. “Oh my God,” Alex immediately gasped, Seb reflexly getting off him.     The next few weeks went by rather quickly.It was the finally the first day of a new semester and both Alex and Seb were fully prepared. Having spent the past few weeks together, they had both gotten extremely used to each other’s presence. Alex: See you at school then! Replying Seb’s last message, Alex grabbed his backpack and headed downstairs. Ever since he got back from London, his closeness with Seb had been visibly obvious to even his aunt.     Alex woke up with a smile on his face. He turned, feeling Seb’s grip around his waist tighten and chuckled in return, memories of the previous night flooding back. The non-existent distance between them gave him the opportunity to stare at Seb to his heart’s content. He was sleeping so peacefully, with his arms wrapped around his waist.
