  Summary:

Being a lover to Eric McCoy for years, now she's just that wealthy woman who's struggling to find her son and maybe avenge the death of her lover.

Diana McCoy has always lived on the edge of power. As a wealthy business magnate in the big city's ruthless elite, she has grown her empire wide and far. But when her only son vanishes without a trace, the woman who has always been the pretty princess of Eric McCoy— her one and only true love, evolves into a dark feminine force of nature, that finds herself spiraling into chaos. Whispers of betrayal surround her. Old enemies resurface. And the deeper she digs, the more she realizes that the danger comes not from the shadows — but from the inner circle she once trusted most.

Ever since Eric McCoy was alive, Diana had peace. He gave her everything— Love, Money, Respect.

Diana is the product of a mistake. Her mother's and Father's Mistake. A one night stand with the heir of the De L' Rosa family. One of the most powerful families in the nation.

This mistake grows into a stubborn and unapologetic young girl that a father casts out, only for her to find happiness with a powerful man. The clothed, feed, sheltered and took care of this young girl. That she grew up and fell in love with this man that she threw herself at him until he gave in.

Old things pass away but that would never pass away, or disappear from Diana's heart.

 . . .

At the center of it all stands Rafael Goldman — magnetic, calculating, and dangerous. Once her rival in business and briefly her lover, Rafael seems to know far more about her son’s disappearance than he should. Yet when evidence points to a larger conspiracy that threatens both their empires, Diana is forced into an uneasy alliance with the one man she swore never to trust. Every step with Rafael feels like walking a razor’s edge — his charm disarms her, his secrets infuriate her, and his presence awakens emotions she’s not sure of.

As they chase clues across glittering boardrooms and the underbelly of high society, Diana begins to question everything she thought she knew. Each revelation peels back another layer of deception, showing her how deeply she's lost herself in this extremely beautiful man. Rafael claims he’s trying to help her, but his motives remain elusive. Is he a protector seeking redemption — or the puppeteer behind her suffering?

Haunted by fear and fury, Diana clings to the only thing that has ever defined her: strength. Yet in this dangerous game of love and vengeance, strength becomes both her weapon and her weakness. The closer she gets to the truth, the more she risks losing herself — not just to the darkness surrounding her, but to the man who thrives within it.

When the final pieces fall into place, Diana must decide what she’s willing to sacrifice to bring her son home — she cannot have them all. And standing before her, Rafael forces her to confront the most painful question of all: if he is guilty, why does her heart still choose him?

Brinks — “She’s on the Edge” is a gripping modern dark romance of power, betrayal, and survival. It explores the fine line between love and destruction, and the cost of trusting someone who might be your undoing. Caught between vengeance and vulnerability, Diana McCoy is a woman pushed past her limits — and what she does next will change everything.

Writer’s POV:“Nicely done, Louisa. I didn’t know you were this vicious.”Immediately the cars began to move again and the entrance cleared. The convoy proceeded into the underground garage. A security man directed the vehicles to their designated spots. As they passed Louisa, she kept her eyes fixed on the car in the middle, “Isn’t that…” she thought for a moment, “…isn’t that the Guvnor’s Revenant?” She pointed. Preston—who had remained standing behind her to prevent her from entering the building, flanked by Stanley and Ryan (guards)—held a hard glare at the car as it drove into the lot, wondering why him again.Steven had already gone inside with Diana and Zee earlier.Louisa immediately pulled her phone from her clothing pocket and dialed Rafael’s number…She turned to find the three men still standing there. Diana’s POV:What is humiliation? The question spun in my mind in those exact minutes. A sudden wave of silence enveloped everything—just that single second of realization—before the crowd erupted. In that hush, it was only me, my mind flooded with vicious thoughts about what to do to this woman-child, this overgrown kidult. I wanted to lash out with such violence. My eyes widened in shock, pupils frozen on my torn sleeve clutched in her hand. For a fleeting moment, I wanted her dead—but no…I refused to let any rational thought push me to take the life of a McCoy. The eyewitnesses suddenly meant nothing. I gave little to no fucks about them witnessing a mugshot. Part of me even wanted to retaliate just so they could see it—so I’d emerge the victor of this round, the one they’d say ‘fought back’ against Louisa McCoy for her idiocy, proving I wasn’t someone to be trifled with.I wanted her wounded. Hurt. I wanted her shattered—broken in such a way that the mere sight of me next time wo

Writer’s POV:As soon as the alarm rang, Louisa woke and jumped out of bed, heading straight to the kitchen. She prepared a meal for the whole day, drew hot baths for her husband and son, then took her own bath. She stepped out of the bathroom and still found her husband sleeping on the bed, snoring heavily—which, if it had been her, would have earned her a beating. She ignored him and rushed to the wardrobe, picked out a corporate blue women’s suit, and at exactly 9:20 a.m., she left the house—filled with sure hope that the offices were now open and that Diana McCoy might still be on her way. Catching her right outside the MSS building would be perfect. Not long after, she had arrived at the global landmark and proceeded inside. A distant “Ugh! Not this crazy woman again” came from one of the female de

Confusing amusement and tears… Her eyes were a bit sore. She walked up to her where she sat in the middle of the chaos, hands over her mouth, single droplets of tears on her lids.“Madam,” she purred before reaching to hold her, but instead Diana shook her head. Zee backed off as Diana handed her the papers. She stepped aside with Amaya and Josan; inaudible voices filling the room.***Meanwhile,Steven walked in on Preston and Jace in their awkward moment. Suddenly a big banner displayed on the welcome screen, screaming access denial. “Fuck!” he yelled in the soundproof car as he banged on the steering wheel. He breathed and breathed again before proceeding another attempt of manipulating the system again.
